Why shouldn't we see this as an opportunity? If the US imposes heavy taxes on Chinese goods, India could export to fulfill American demand. But how can this be possible? Why USA helped China? If it it was a "help"' USA should not complain China for not " return" the favor. If you wish a return of favor for what you did, then it is not a "help", it is a "business". If it is a business, then nobody should complain the other side once the deal is done.

China has already expanded their supply chain in ASEAN Countries. I am an investor. I track this sector. They have established manufacturing facilities in Vietnam and Indonesia. So, if India slaps import duty on Chinese Goods it may not work. And, also we have free trade agreement with these Asean Countries.
If China tries to dump it's goods in India, India should impose anti-dumping duty on Chinese goods.
