What a gorgeous altered book junk journal! Love all the inka gold and distressing and aging of the pages and love the cover of course and love the different tuck spots including the tiny envelope and the bigger pockets!

Love it, I think you could add a real seed pack and also a tea bag. It would be a sweet touch, not that it needs anything. I love the soft colors and all the lace things just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, thanks so much for your comment Wendy. I made a solution of boiled water and about 5 teabags in a roasting pan, then I dip the paper in the water once it’s cooled a bit, then I lay the paper on grease proof or parchment paper and pop in a hot oven until dry about 5 mins TFW 🥰
Thanks so much Donna. I sorry I don't have a tutorial, but I used an old book cover, which I covered with tissue paper and tulle. I then inked the cover with Tim Holtz distress ink pad in walnut stain. I also randomly applied distress stain in broken China and rub n buff to the edges, hope that helps TFW :)

Have searched and searched for some seam binding like the one on this journal. Everything I find is basically just ribbon. Yours has an aged wrinkly effect to it. Where do you get yours ? I am in Georgia in the USA. Can I order some online ?
ThePickyPainter Hi thanks for your message. I'm in the UK so I have trouble getting seam binding, but this came from a seller on Etsy called Praire Bird Boutique, she is in the states. Also you can buy it on large reels from Zipperstop, they are in the states too and it's cheaper. I can definitely recommend the etsy shop, you can buy it already crinkled or flat and it's lovely and soft. Hope that helps ☺

Really nice Melanie. I'm confused though, I thought an altered book meant you tore pages out of a book, and then glued things into it. Maybe you could clarify that for me :)

An altered book can be done both ways, you can remove the pages and just use the cover and add your own coffee dyed papers, scrapbook papers etc. or you can leave the original pages in the book...you still need to thin the book out by tearing some pages out, then you can glue 2 or more pages together, leaving as many as you wish to decorate. Hope that helps, I've left a link on the fb group of a tutorial Debbie Anne did which I found very helpful. TFW :)
