Melo going off in Houston. They style of play is perfect for him. He just need to adjust his game to a true 3rd option. He really will be their 2nd scoring option. But CP3 and Harden will obviously have the ball more. Also his jumper is so good and such a fast release.
People forget this was his first season playing a 3rd option, first season back competing for the play offs, and first season playing catch and shoot and he still finished averaging 16 and 35% from the field expect his field goal percentage to go up next year in Houston he will be more ready
Melo was blamed more than he should have been because of his stubborn attitude and denial that he should have come off the bench for OKC......however, I watched every game and it's not easy being a third option with only seconds left on the clock to shoot when Russ kicks it out to you....Melo was also better on defense than people realized. He can still be a valuable asset to any team as long as he controls his ego.
He actually will make Houston better "offensively". He will get even more spot up shots in Houston from CP3/Harden driving than he did in OKC. It's even funny when people say he had his worst season in his career. But the man still averaged 20 ppg. Melo should not be coming off the bench. You need him to catch fire and stay hot as much as you can. Wouldn't even classify him as a streaky scorer he is more consistent than anything. Just keep feeding him the open shots. He also only averaged 2 fta a game, the lowest of his career and can't guard anyone. His athleticism is gone. He can't get to the rim anymore, so his game has to be reduced to being a spot up shooter. We'll see if he's open to doing that full time.
