Nokuphiwa Mbatha popularly known as Lizwi Mbatha is a 29 year old Durban based artist and fast becoming a South African Afro Tribal flag bearer in the global market. Her music is an Afro Tribal fusion of dance music and African Acoustics inspired by her unique and Zulu Ancestral background.
Lizwi’s passion echoes with the strums of each string she pulls in studio and on stage when performing live. A song that deeply expresses her acoustic heart is her debut solo single titled “Ndiyoyika”. The single was released on 6 July 2018 and was a break from the Afro Tribal Dance music she is popular known for in the clubs.
Lizwi’s entry into the industry was as a featured on singles with Major Industry Underdogs like DJ Chynaman, Enoonapa, Samurai & Kunzima, Demajor, Catzico and Minnie Ncwane.
Lizwi’s passion & inspiration for music came from listening to the likes of Busi Mhlongo.
Self expression through music reveals her inner self and boldness when performing live on stage, She officially started recording music 2012and through her journey taught herself how to play the guitar. Acquiring this skill enhanced her writing skill and performances along side the talented “Rhythm Slaves” duo & Mazwi who complete her live band for festivals and live performances. - เพลง
