since hd600 comes with an import tax for most of us, the para is always about 100 dollars cheaper than hd 600, however build quality could be an issue lately for moondrop imo
At some point, I’ll probably buy the Para. For now, the Venus has my full attention. They’re still breaking in and get better every time I put them on. I’m not really a mid-centric fan either. That being said, the Para will stay in my radar. Thanks for another great review/comp vid Timmy!
Hello Timmy i have a great video idea that i would highly recommend! A lot of people that come across your videos are new into the audiophile scene, casuals and our reference points when it comes to reviews are highly different. As i started to grow my knowledge in the hifi music i realized that in order to drive an iem to it's potential a lot of things are needed. I.e. Dacs, amps and a few tricks to override some limitations of their respective connective dongle. In addition a few key things are often disregarded (audio steaming/steaming services that don't steam high fidelity audio). Since most casual listeners are using their smartphones directly as a dac source i would much appreciate it if you you made a video about the BEST BUDGET or not SET UPS for android and ios users that could drive their Iem to it's best potential. A proper 101 step by step generic audiophile tutorial from a smartphone would be appreciated as well.
Got them today, they are my first open back headphone. I really wanna say how good they are, but they just do NOT have enough bass without EQ for me, so I needed to EQ the bass a lot. But with that done, they are SOOOO GOOD!!!
Open back headphones tend to not have much bass based on their construction. The air vanishes very fast through the air grills so the bass will be of course not as strong as in closed back headphones. There are a few exceptions like Focal Elex or ZMF Atticus or other models from ZMF but in general closed backs have more bass.
I almost owned the Venus but didn't end up getting them because I seen the Para release. I plan on buying the Para at some point, I know they are on sale now but I don't have the money yet.
heah but what Dac and how much it will cost to drive those two headphones? I mean timmy used a 1k DAC of course his reference will be much different than ours
From my calculation using Headphones power calculator, yup its really hard to drive beacuse its had low sensitivity (101dB/Vrms). To achive loudness of 110db it required 2.82 volt and almost 1 watt of power
@@tataksn6809 no. 110dB is absurd. If you listen anywhere near that level you should go to a doctor. The sensitivity is similar to my he400se which get unbearably loud from anything (MSI motherboard, google dongle, moondrop click mini, fiio BTR3k, old laptop etc). "Really hard to drive" is, aside from very few exceptions, a myth.
@@your_average_cultured_dude 110db is for the headroom. Because music loudness is not constant, let say you listen at around 80 db. Music sometimes can get around 100db or maybe more for a few moment. Thats why i always calculate headphone power at loudness at around 110db
@@your_average_cultured_dude and btw hifiman he400se didn't specify the unit of sensitivity. they just write 91 db, so it could be 91db/Vrms or 91db/mW. But let say it has sensitivity of 91db/mW. meanwhile moondrop para sentivity if translated to db/mW it sit around 80db/mW at 8 ohm which is super low sensitivity
It looks very interesting, sennheiser is probably still the king just by virtue of qc alone, these senn can last for ever while I am not so sure for the moondrop Paras. I still haven't seen some horror stories like with hifiman so it's a good sign.
GM ☕️ from Toronto. The Para is a very good step up from them …but I’ve already got a Sen’s ‘650 ..so I’m good …but those look very interesting. Take care .👍👍
My Para's arrived today and a quick listen in the office, Tidal via a Topping DX3 Pro+, and WOW.

HD600 can reach $500 here in the Philippines 😬
just got 6xx with 100usd
@@The6thShadow retail or online import?
@@mistaBorg both
@@The6thShadow dont do it, instead i'd suggest to get an iem for music and cloud ii for gaming or normal listening...
Timmy you should have a Tech scale for headphones like you have with iems.

You gonna make a video on the Venus?
Yes. It’s long overdue. That will be coming out soon. Thank you for the reminder!
Timmy is building up his humor 😂
Please make a video about your top favourite headphones for each price range 🙌
When you expect Fuwa Fuwa to play at the start but Timmy just ends up starting at the viewer in silence hahahahaha
Did you only try it with its stock cables? No ofc cables??
according to this video - when compara, the para is on par with the sundara
😅

Are they good for mixing? 🤩
I own this and its EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!
seeing the cables bent like that on the Para connectors gave me anxiety 😅😅😅

Woah woah woah... better technicalities than HD 600? Hmm... might be a good excuse to buy it blindly, and to finally delve into my first planar
Liked the intro 🤣🤣
i have no idea why there's no local audio store that sell this headphone in indonesia.
i can have the newer may, but not para..
good for gaming?

can the hd6xx offer same vocals as hd600 or no?
Yes

No.

Today's video is very short.
Some day Timmy will see this video back and cringe on his own intro😂😂
that day was the day I filmed the video
Do you need him if you have sundara?just 1 month ago i brought them !!!!!
You don’t need any more headphones
Yes, it blow sundara away
First
With that tuning the para is worth about $10 to me because most people don't listen to weeb music. Good video though.
Mid centric tuning = weeb music ?
That's the most retarded comment ever...
