Yes, most people grossly underestimate how much more experience the other players have compared to Gukesh. Still, he prevailed! Being young, inexperienced, and under tremendous pressure, winning the World Championship is a superb achievement for Gukesh. Also, the fact that Magnus *chose* not to play already disqualifies him from the argument. It simply doesn't matter whether he's the best or not - he's disqualified himself. So other commenters must really look objectively at this fact and stop making irrelevant comparisons.
Even after winning and being in such an emotional state, he still humbly arranged the chess pieces, showcasing his down-to-earth nature and unwavering passion for the game. He truly deserved it.

Congrats Gukesh on becoming the 18th world champion at 18 . But full credit to Ding for at least making a match of it . Everybody expected Gukesh to win but Ding brought it to the final game .
@mipojohn8043 before the match started even ding liren said gukesh was the favorite. Later down the line it became unclear as ding liren put up an incredible fight, but gukesh won in the end

Last time after winning World championships ding cry and now our champion cry after winning shows how much he work hard it's not just a win it is an emotion .
Wow, this is incredible! I wasn’t expecting the World Championship to be decided in Game 14. I had very low hopes for Gukesh, especially since Ding was showing such brilliance. By the end of the game, I had almost given up on Gukesh. And then this 18-year-old pulls off an amazing comeback in the last World Cup classic game to become the youngest World Champion!
Congratulations son ! What a performance! Even after winning his calmness and respect for the profession shows how humble and disciplined he is ! Proud of you Gokesh !.! Proud to
I fell bad for Ding Liren, but this is the best result we could've had, Ding can now focus his time and effort on his mental problems, and Gukesh with 18 years old can possibly become one of the best world champions, his not even on his peak and now is our Wold Champion, Congrats!!
Wow. When every winner the world over turns towards the media to revel in glory, this guy humbly resets the board and the chair. He’s probably an even bigger person than a mere champion. Well done!
To all ppl saying ding chocked, no Gukesh won tournament by first qualifying into Candidates, Winning Candidates and then beating Current World Classical Chess Champion !! So haters cry in corner because for us it’s time to celebrate
I can't see why these two observations would be mutually exclusive. Yes, Gukesh qualified and won the match fair and square, it was all legitimate (obviously). Yes, Ding still choked in the last game - or crumbled under pressure (after giving a good fight throughout the match). Both statements are true.
What made Indians happy:- "Dhoni finishes off in style" "Kohli goes down the ground, Kohli goes out of the ground " "Words can't capture the significance of this moment" ❤
18th World Champion at the age of 18, one day after Vishy's birthday, in his own style by winning with Black against Topan. Did anyone notice all this? Congratulations Gukesh, India is Proud, entire world is Proud of you ❤🏆🏆🎉

Is it mandatory to put them, after match is over???
