Went through the same thing with manual vs auto transmission. I learned on manual. Some of my friends couldn't drive my car.
If she's a first year driver and learned only on Tesla, certain habbits won't be there.
Skill operating a clutch, gear shift, all the knobs and pedals. When driving a new car, I had to complete a checklist to identify where important Items were. Would also work the gear shifter front to back to acclimate moving from gear to gear smoothly without having to think about it before I started the car.
@@avgjoe5969 Learning how to drive should be in a manual car. In my country you simply learn to drive in a manual, if you learn in an automatic transmission car your license only allows you to drive these cars, not manuals.

if anyone doesn't know, she said "you have to break to stop" because in electric cars theres a setting where if your not pushing the gas enough it will automatically apply the breaks for you, so you never need to push the break since the car stops when your not pushing the gas.

Every tuesday we go in a town like 35km away, she comes and she picks me up and drive to go there, and I drive to go back at my home. I don't think I am ready to drive more, but I like where I go because I have roundabouts, I have roads where it is 80km/h, other where it is 70, I have a few small cities where it is 50 or 30. I really have everything to learn and to be more confident. I am not afraid of what I could do wrong, but more about what other drivers could do. When you have been driving for 30 years, I think you have some bad habits, like not using your fkn blinkers 🤣

@beet7256 my parents both have a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (both different years), and you still need to break on both. The break on the newer one need to be pressed further down as well (cuz it smoothens if your pressing in steps rather slowly pressing down).

But a tesla doesn’t stop automatically, it has regenerative braking, but it doesn’t stop it, and its gear selector is like in a mercedes

Driver test now days don’t even get in the car. They give you a camera to put in your car, so they never see the gas petal and the brake petal.

they probably let her use the tesla. For my test they let me bring my own vehicle, asked me questions about the controls ( i dont think they even asked about gas or break, though they asked about hand brake/emergency break, which btw is the only control in my car I don’t know how to use), had me drive around the lot and had me parallel park. Anyway, this makes sense if they let her use her own car, and maybe she was on the wrong side of the street because she was panicking.
