How about adjustment of the space between the drums? When there was too much fiber on the licker drum I made the space between the drums smaller and results are better but I wonder if there should be less space.
My machine makes a lot of little nips when I feed very fine fiber into it. I run it as slow as possible, feed small, thinly spread portions of fiber into it and have 172 tpi. I can't understand why I keep getting the little nips of fiber. Do you have any ideas as to what is going on?
Thanks for the roving tip! I own this drum carder and love it. I card fiber from my herd of alpacas on it for spinning. This season I've got a Suri alpaca with an extra long staple length (up to 8" or more!) Do you have any tips on processing a longer staple length on this carder?
I have the motorized version and I absolutely love it!!! The video is terrific, too! You guys are wonderful.
I have no idea what any of this means, but you go, funky yarn man!

Good video seem like good people and helpful
going slow might be your problem, the swift must go faster than the licker-in.
