Evidently Gosselaar is a good dude and eventually figured out his character was a huge asshole. He’s played other characters who were less problematic. My favorite is the catcher in Pitch, a show they should 100% bring back.
I don't know why a network don't pick on this idea for a dark comedy/drama series. Imagine a student like Zack who utilizes his friends, humiliate people, invent scams, and people seem to disappear around him, yet people continuously think he is a great guy, because of the circumstances in which the events hsppen. Even the viewer been confused if he is truly a bad guy or just a victim of circumstances. I would watch a show like that in a heartbeat.
Zack had a life-sized cardboard cutout...in the pre-Amazon Prime period of our culture...so, he had to go quite the extra mile to have that made. It was creepy af .
