It was only when I was 51 that I discovered these gentlemen (television!!!) . I'm absolutely shocked with me... I just want to say I love them a lot...they are from another planet!

I believe these demos (the first 3 songs - the Neon Boys material) were recorded in 1973, not 1972. The two Voidoids demos are from 1979.

Kind of wish Television did a record when they were in their punk era, I feel they sounded a lot more interesting than what they'd later embark on Marquee Moon, the only track I really think is amazing on that is Venus, then on a good day I can go for See No Evil and Prove It, but the rest of the record (even the title track) doesn't really do much for me anymore, sometimes I feel it's a dated sound, not sure maybe it hasn't grown on me yet or something like that, I seemed to enjoy their second album Adventure a lot more

I actually enjoy the whole first side a lot now and have grown to enjoy the whole album more, Friction kicks so much ass!

@@kelechi_77 Yea man you just gotta listen to it. The newer era of Television is really sick because of how jolty their rhythm is. Even the most "punk" song on that record see no evil has some bizarre counting on it. I knew for a fact that you would "get into" television more with more listens. they dont stop being cool to me, even though for a minute they felt like just some 70s softcore band

@@Tandle779 Marquee Moon became one of my favorite albums ever, I think spotify had some shit mix. I ended up downloading some super high quality FLAC and everything sounded amazing. Elevation became a favorite of mine. And yeah the most punk song is easily the opener and yet it's still very unique for punk music of the time.

@@kelechi_77 Good move! I've been obsessed with Television for a year and half now, I've been trying to learn every musical trick they have and it doesn't get easy. I also recommend the band 'Women'. To me they're like a 21st century Television, jolty, brilliant, and tragically short-lived.

@@Tandle779 Didn't they change their name to Gilla Band? What made me love Television a lot more is how they were influenced by bands like the Rolling Stones (Listen to Time Waits for No One, Happy and Winter) as well as Five Live Yardbirds. It just started to make sense, they were THE guitar band, one of the best interplay groups of the whole punk scene, and they influenced all alternative lead guitar for years to come.
