What's in My Travel Camera Bag - Wandrd Rogue 9L Sling

  • I've seen a number of videos reviewing the Wandrd Rogue 9L Sling, but I haven't seen too many showcasing how much gear you can pack into it - especially for travel. I use this setup both for photography and videography when I'm on the road. It's light enough so that I don't have to carry a heavy pack through the airport, but also holds just enough camera gear to ensure that I'm able to capture the photos & videos I want while travelling.
    GEAR USED
    Camera: Sony a7iii
    Main Lens: Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS
    Wide Angle Lens: Tamron 17-28mm F2.8
    Drone: DJI Mini 2
    Filters: PolarPro Peter Mckinnon Variable ND Filter (2-5 Stop) & Polar Pro Circular Polarizer Filter

      @@bluezikylez9743 Due to it's size and the amount of gear you can pack in the sling, it could become quite heavy. I don't find it too heavy with all of the gear shown in this video, but, like any bag, you should only really pack the amount of gear you feel comfortable carrying in it - no matter the size. If you do ever find it heavy when you're travelling, you can actually slip the top handle over your luggage strap (similar to how a luggage strap works on a backpack), which eliminates the heaviness problem! If you want a more in depth review of this bag, check out my recent blog article about it here: www.trentogilvie.com/blog/wandrd-rogue-9l-sling-review-best-travel-sling

    I can carry my Mamiya 645 Pro with AE prism finder and 80mm lens attached, 45mm lens and a spare film back in the main compartment. Bits and bobs like a couple of filters, lens hoods, spare battery, blower brush and cleaning cloth go in the other slots. My 8" tablet goes where the laptop should go. I haven't tried the Bronica SQA yet, but, as it isn't that much bigger than the Mamiya, it should fit.

    Where did you get that flat air blower? Looks great for travel. Great video too!

      Yeah it’s perfect for travel! It was actually given to me, so I’m not sure where it’s from, but Amazon looks like they sell a similar one if you search Tronixpro air dust blower. Thanks for the kind words about the video as well!

    How does the shoulder strap feel carrying this weight for a full day? It's a similar setup I plan, but feels the strap isn't very padded. Thank you.

      I find the shoulder strap fairly comfortable even with all of this gear packed into it. It can become a little uncomfortable if you're wearing it for a full day though, but the nice thing about this bag is that you can actually switch the strap around and change which shoulder holds the weight throughout the day, which definitely makes it easier to carry for longer periods of time.

    Hey. Did you get a chance to check 6l wandrd sling? Maybe all the same stuff can fit in that bag aswell? Because I'm wondering to buy that bag. I Think the only problem will be to fit dji controler inside and should use outdoor pocket.

      I checked out the 6L online, but I didn't get a chance to see it in person. Depending on the lens you have connected to your camera, it may be tight to fit an extra lens in the inside pocket if you're carrying both a drone / controller and a mirrorless camera. I will say though that the back "laptop" pocket is fairly spacious and, if you're not planning on putting a laptop in it, you could most likely fit the DJI controller in that pocket (maybe even the drone too if you've got a DJI Mini.

    For two mirrorless body + 70-200 Canon and a Tamron 24-70 g2 lens, worth it ?

    • @trentogilvie
      @trentogilvie  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m not sure if that would all fit in this bag to be honest. You’d likely need one of Wandrd’s bigger bags. The 9L comfortably fits one mirrorless body with a lens attached to it, and 2 other small-medium sized lenses. The 70-200 would likely take up a lot of space in the bag, limiting how many other lenses you could carry.
