Thanks so much for watching! I'm glad it was helpful! Lots of people pull it out - you just risk the issue with the seeds coming to the surface. It's quite the beast of a plant - I'm sure it'll take a bit of time (and a few cuttings/pullings) to get rid of it for good. Good luck!
Never heard of garlic mustard. Maybe a good thing. 🙂. I’m jealous of your little helper. Must be nice. You have a wonderful garden. Thanks for sharing.
I pulled a bunch out too, so who knows what'll come back next year! Sneaky little seeds can stay dormant in the ground for a long time until they see the sunlight, so who knows how long it will take to get rid of! Good luck and just keep at it! Thanks for watching! 🙂
I'm so glad it was helpful to you! It's a bit relentless, but I have definitely found my efforts make a dent in this forest of garlic mustard! I hope you win your battle too! 💚
Subscribed! We have a similar garlic mustard problem in our local park in Radford City VA...i plan to do an episode on it next spring as well! Prolific seed producer! Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for the subscription! Definitely try to get out and clip it before it flowers and give it a taste! Apparently it's quite good! Might as well eat it up if it has to go in the trash anyhow!! Thanks again!
Did you end up making a video on garlic mustard? I took a peek at your listing and couldn't see one - I'd love to see how you covered it! Hope the battle is going in your favour at the park you mentioned!
Do you have tips for getting rid of garlic mustard in your yard? What works best for you? And have you tried it in a recipe? Be sure to share your tasty tips too!
It's too bad they're such a bully, they're actually quite pretty and taste good too! Thanks for the subscription and for the great comments! I look forward to seeing your gardens grow as well!
@@TheSuburbanGardenista fantastic. I did a full video with growing and cooking recipe. If you are interested than do have a look my channel for video "Growing Mustard (Sarson) from seeds in a storage box | How to sow, care, harvest and cook SAAG".
I'm going to try growing sunflowers in the area next year . I'm hoping the inhibitors they create and the canopy will kill them. My woods looks just as bad..I'm trying at least to keep it out of my garden beds. I'll have to try some of those you suggested as I'm in northern NY and those are also natives here.
Thanks for the comment! I hope you can win your battle on this bully! It's such a shame that it's such an easy spreader. I don't know that I'll ever win my battle behind my house, but I'm going to keep trying nonetheless! Good luck to you! 💚
Interesting! I've never thought of that method!! They are a pain - hope you win your war - I know I've got quite the long term battle with mine! Thanks for watching and for the comment! 💚
It's up to you re the garlic mustard - if it's not that much, and you don't think there's a large store of seeds in the soil, pulling should be fine - if you're yoinking out all sorts of stuff, the soil will get all tilled up anyhow, so do what's easiest for you! As for the vinca - just keep pulling, just keep pulling! I'm trying to get rid of it myself and it's a relentless one! Good luck! You're doing great work trying to get rid of these invasives - it's thankless work, so I'll give you a big thank you! Keep it up!

Thanks so much for watching! Fingers crossed it doesn't find its way into your gardens, but at least you'll be ready if it does!
Good to know this. I had been pulling it for years and always comes back.

Hi. God willing, the orchard is beautiful 😊
Great video! And great helper! Thanks for the helpful tips... I'm going to share with my neighbour who struggle with this.

Sorry for the delayed response! This comment was just shown to me today! ...strange. Thanks for watching. How did the black mustard go this year?

Love the video, I learned a lot about garlic mustard, thanks! Question - is Wooly Purple Violet the same as Wooly Blue Violet?
Thanks so much for watching! I made a little error in the audio for the video - the correct plant is Woolly Blue Violet - thanks for catching that!

I just bought a Flame Torch and have been burning the rosets and pulling the 2 year plants. This is a pain in the you know what to remove.

I have very little garlic mustard but will snip from now on. I am trying to eradicate Vinca. It is NOT easy to get out. Any tips?
