Indeed, Georgia is producing some great fighters lately. But Topuria is in Spain since 15, he is also a product of the Mediterranean country; concretely in Alicante Province (south east), where he lives and trains, is becoming the hotspot for the sport in the country. Greetings by the way, great video!
Me agrada bastante el estilo de peleador k es Ilia Topuria . ya k aun no teniendo gran estatura , si k dispone de un buen poderio de pegada , y buen cardio ademas de calidad en la lucha en el suelo . MUCHO ILIA TOPURIA .🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸👌
Thanks! Great question my man. I think it will be both guys' toughest fight. Halls striking plays perfectly into his grappling, using his high kicks to set up his iminari rolls, and vice versa. Ilia has better grappling credentials than any of Hall's previous opponents so I think he could do well avoiding a few of the leg entanglements. However, not a game Ilia wants to play too often. I think his best route to victory would be to have Hall pressed against the fence where he can let his combinations go, while having space behind him to back away from any high kicks/iminari rolls. I think Hall is one of the best at 145 so it's his fight to lose but I also wouldn't be shocked if Ilia managed to get the win!
@@fightwise4500 Go back and watch Hall vs Saul Rogers. He lost that fight. I don't think Hall's submission game has been very effective at ending fights in MMA. Look at how many subs he's had since August of 2015. He's only had 1. And that was against a badly faded BJ Penn that had not had a victory in 8 years. I see this fight ending via TKO if Topuria can effectively cut off the cage and get Hall up against the fence. However, if Hall can manage to run effectively & not get cornered then he will lose a decision to Topuria. Rogers played in Hall's guard and Hall was not able to do anything with it. Topuria is a much better striker on the feet than Saul & has better jits than Saul as well.
@@djpdjp5247 I've not seen the Rogers fight, thanks man! I'm interested to see what Hall has done with his time outside the cage. I think your game plan for topuria is definitely right!
Ryan Hall is totally going to stop this guy. It's WAY to early to be talking championship contention, are you crazy? He's had 2 fights in the UFC. 2. Against cans. Come on, man, get your head out of the clouds.
Ryan Hall will be his hardest fight to date but it will also be Hall's hardest fight in the UFC. I respect Ilia even more for taking the fight when so many turned it down. I also think calling any UFC fighter a can is a bit short sighted and shows a lack of understanding of our sport. If you have had multiple fights (and wins) within the promotion, you are one of the best fighters in the world.
@@fightwise4500 I would kindly like to agree to disagree here. I would love to have a more in-depth conversation with you about these topics but the TH-cam comment section isn't the best place. I believe Ryan Hall will win. I also believe Ilia will be easily forgiven for a loss against a weird meme fighter and will have a chance to go far. But having a flashy guillotine/anaconda does not a champion make. Time will tell!
@@brianbouchard1899 I think Ryan Hall is already one of the best at featherweight. He's a tough fight for everyone, including Ilia. The UFC may have pushed Ilia too soon but like you say, fighters can sometimes grow more from losses than wins. I still believe that Ilia will do better against Hall than many think. My main argument is that Ilia is a young fighter so has been developing his grappling during the explosion of leg locks. He is likely to be more well versed in leg entanglements than previous opponents. BJ Penn is a great example here. He is a phenomenal grappler, but from an older generation with less leg lock emphasis, which may have contributed to him effectively injuring himself against hall by back stepping into the heel hook. Now, can Ilia do any better? Hard to say because Hall is a legitimate wizard on the floor. I agree that comment sections are not the place to chat but thanks for your input anyway. It's always good to get a different view point on upcoming fights💪
Great video! Indeed this guy's a killer, along with other new prospects from Georgia.
@@fightwise4500 Keep an eye on Guram Kutateladze too. Guy is absolute beast!

His greatest achievement is turning Aljo around from Yan's whipping boy. Dude actually managed to come on that ass.
