So Much Vintage in One Place! | Spectacular Huge Collection

- We're picking up two bronzes to sell from a nonagenarian collector today, and she's showing us her amazing house full of 60 years of antiques and vintage she's accumulated! Pat has been a long-time employee and buyer @BernerBrotherAntiques and they've arranged for us to get to see her super packed but super organized collections!
A desk that held a big secret hooked Pat on collecting after she left her career as a Vegas musician in the 1960s (we get to share a photo of her with John Wayne, and hear about her connection to Doris Day), and this house is the culmination of all those years of auction buys and antique mall finds! This is one of the most packed houses I've seen that somehow still showcases her extensive collections in an accessible, clean and visually exciting way.
In truth, "extensive" hardly describes it...we see collections of Victorian music machines, a shelf of clocks, a hall of nutcrackers, a closet with 2000+ neckties (including one from a surprising source), a bath covered with factices, a wine storage with birds perched on guard, a wall of clocks, a large group of Goebel and 1910s monks, racks and racks of costume jewelry, a garden full of concrete figures and bird baths...she even caught on to collecting brass a generation before the rest of us! If you like richly appointed homes and major collections, this is the place!

How in the world was she able to dust all of that?! None of it looked dusty, and if it’s been there for decades, it would be covered. I can’t even imagine how it was handled.

Her collection shouldn't be sold and broken up . That place should be baught and turned into a landmark and museum. Should be preserved for all history. Have schools go there for field trips.

Thanks for the most informative tour of Pat’s amazing collection. To me what’s most amazing is her attitude towards life. 92 and still has a reason for living and keeping active. She certainly doesn’t look the age. I hope I can be her if I live to be her age. She is brave showing her collection for fear of someone breaking into her home to steal from her or do her harm. You are very knowledgeable and I’m glad you are willing to share your knowledge with others plus you are always very respectful and kind.
I love the joy this lady has at being able to show her collection to folks that appreciate it.

My mother's grand mother crocheted so called "hat pic lace" with hat pins and very fine cotton thread. Lucky enough to posses that lace.

Loved seeing Pat’s collections from all three points of view! Your version was so informative. Loved your mention of Rock City and the trolls and all the kitschy displays they have. When I was growing up (I’m of a vintage age) my grandparents took us there often and I was mesmerized by the stories I saw in those displays. It was our version of Disney.

Good evening, George! A Happy Thanksgiving to you! That was an unreal amount of costume jewelry. Loved all of those Regulator clocks. The large one that looked like rosewood was fantastic. The winged Mercury with Pegasus is definitely my style. Loved those old hatpins! Especially the long ones. I'd love to have one of those disc players. The sound they produce is enchanteur. We have three German cuckoo clocks, and all of them work and keep good time. One of them is an eight-day clock. I have a couple of old rhinestone shoe buckles...somewhere. Those bottles of wine were super-interesting to me. It was good to see most were stored on their sides, to keep the corks wet. Wow! That had to be a super-fun hose to tour! Thanks for the take-along!

Pat's necktie collection is a king-size quilt waiting to happen. A lot of quilters cut them up and and make things out of them. Especially the annoying silk ones. The Adlake raiload lantern looks like a caboose lantern. I think. Not the usual brakeman's or walking-around lantern anyway. Ohio Central?
