Very good overview Jack. One question I do wonder is the whether the cost of EW high rank is worth the rewards. Rationally no, but this is one of the few thrills really enjoyable in the game and bragging rights matter.
I don't care so much for EW. I try to do well only because it's a good source of merit for the entire team. I think if you can stay within the 10-30 rankings you can earn just as much merit without using as much speed if any at all. Merit is probably the only stat you can't "buy" now. 😉

Why should be attackers and not defenders when you are occupying a tower and the enemy is approaching?
The thought process behind this is the attacker bonuses are better than defender bonuses. So attackers have an advantage.
