Such a unique approach in a modern day world of DAWs Usually there's so much UI/UX doing this stuff for you in the background, this is like backend code for audio
Thanks 🙏🏻 I'm a little surprised Samplers don't have these built-in, to be honest.. pretty sure I'm not the first to discover it, it's quite an obvious calculation 👍🏻
Just to let you know that drop box link works but the safari test kit files does nothing, I loaded it on to my Mpc one and it did nothing also on to Mpc beats 2 and the same thing nothing there sorry to say ,will be trying you calculator at some point to see if that works
"the safari test kit files does nothing" ?! ...in what sense?! ..did you select it via Programs?! ...it's worked for many others, so I'm unsure what 'does nothing' means. Can you see the Waveforms if you try to edit the Program.. via Prog Edit?! The calculator has worked for many, so I expect you should have no problem there 🙏🏻
Hard to see from where I'm sitting.. but, like I was saying, if you can't access the Samples via the Edit Prog-page... then, the Program (and it's Samples) have not been loaded into your MPC. So, troubleshoot the 'LOAD' step, first. 👍🏼
this is a very nice method and the calculator in your page helps tremendously but it all fails or works only when the original sample is cut correctly on the one ; if the sample is not correctly trimmed to start with, all consequent timed manipulations will be off - maybe that is why you only work with the first slice in your examples ? (the further down the loop, the bigger the - possible - deviation)
Thanks.. and, you don't need to start it on 'Bar 1', I just did the simplest application for people to grasp the concept a little easier.. you could trigger your sample, say for example.. on Beat 2 for 2 beats and if that's the case.. then you'd just use the half-bar value... it's just measurse of time.. how you use, or where you place your Sample in around your Beats or Bars.. can be calculated for it to loop perfectly anywhere given a divided measure 👍🏼
If you've got one of these new generation MPCs running MPC2 Software.. I've left the link for this exact kit I was messing around on, in the description. So, go right ahead, download it.. and take it for a spin! ♻️ 👍🏼
