I've only recently especially after Taylor Hawkins passed paid attention to the Foo Fighters like heavily and what makes them awesome. The answer is everything plus Dave Grohl. I'm amazed at my ignorance and glad I figured it out. I was a huge Nirvana fan and def didn't hate the Foo Fighters, it just reminds me of so many things I haven't appreciated in life. Trying now.

You know what? I'm just going to declare that this is my actual favourite version of this song after all. Acoustic, family singing, most human version complete with Violet trying her darnest to hit that low note, eye rolls and some great vocals from all three of them. What's there not to like about this performance?
I really love the music video but when I think of this song, I somehow default to this version instead. Hence, this must be my favourite.

Remember that video from a few years ago, where Dave was recording and Harper comes along and asks him to taker her swimming because he promised? She didn't give a damn he was a rockstar, she just wanted to go swimming with her dad. Look at her now, going rocking with her dad and sis. She rocks

Someone posted the rehearsal for this song and We Will Rock You. You can tell how much he supports them - he asked them if they wanted to do that low part. And made it okay if they didn't quite hit the lowest note. Amazing dad. Amazing family.
