Dude this video stopped me from knocking my self out on a tree,I was going fast down a hill onto a flat surface and did this on the flat surface just before I face planted a tree
Lauren Beckerle yeah xD and he was exausted because I made he do like 100 parallel slides in front of the camera until I got the shots I wanted xD so he started to fall at one moment cuz he had no energy left x) Glad you like my vids! :)
1:58 must be printed out and converted into an oil painting. Here we see the skater's hand gently reaching out to the old lady like God in Michelangelo's Creation of Adam. Meanwhile, she scowls at this gesture with brute disapproval typical for a mere mortal.
Hey Tiago, nice videos. Keep it up! I am a beginner of inline roller (8th lesson). I live in Paris and I am wondering what are the perfect spots to practice for beginners? I am looking for large or long flat surfaces. It seems to me there is no lots of them in paris.
Hey Tiago thanks for all the videos, I'm a new watcher and someone who wants to start inline skating. Would you suggest me to buy cheaper skates to use until I feel comfortable on wheels, or would you suggest I buy the full gear right away? I don't really know how to get in to this and I just want some help.
Ha, yes I see where I've been going wrong, I need to get lower, for a start. I see that these slides were done on a nice smooth surface, would you consider it possible to do a parallel slide on pretty rough tarmac? Depends on speed and angle I guess..
Hard hard hard. That did it for me. 90A and up. Get on a slope and start slaloming. Tighter and tighter, eventually you will start to slide. That will give you the intuitive feel you need for the angle and speed. After that, it's just about committing. You have to snap to that angle. There is no in-between. Everything here is correct. I bought my first Sebas years ago after watching this guy. All his advice is great.
Hey tiago i just got back in to skating and are lookin to get some seba skates. Would you recommend to get my size or a half size bigger. Im a 10.5us. which i think is a 44 in eu if you could let me know it would really help. Thank you and keep up the good videos
i have pretty soft wheels 80A and my feet are pretty loose in my shoe. another thing making it harder is difficalty getting good tilt on my leading (later rear) foot of the slide. any tips
You need at least at least hardness of 84A to slide. 86A is the minimum for beginners. Learn other slides first (powerslide, magic slide), they are easier and you develop a feeling for sliding.
You can parallel slide with an 80A. I did with my 78A. It all depends on the surface and the state of the wheels ( new wheels are harder to slide with). Other than that, you are good with 80A. Caveat: you might need to replace them after 2 weeks or a week depending on usage and surface of slide.
should i be attempting this with a sprained ankle? well, i sprained it back on june 6th. it feels like its about 90% and i still want to learn this stop and the hockey stop on ice. or should i wait a whole other year just to be safe.. lol. smh.
hiya! i've been watching some of youre videos. i really enjoy them! but it seems to me its more or less the same skates and brands that go over and over. have you ever tried Roces from italy ? i would love a review on Roces! also me and my coworker work with teenagers and we are trying to start a community for inline and aggressive skating. we dont have much parks nearby. small town of 5000 people. got any ideas on how to make the best of it ? best regards from norway :P
I’m scared to try them and I’m waiting for my new socks 🧦 tomorrow. I don’t know my skates kind of hurts a lil. under my hills. Any advice. I’m a beginner
If I skate forward then turning to the left for breaking. (At this moment, right foot is in front; left foot is in the back) Which foot should I put more weight?
I cant even do a T stop with my skates at the moment as the wheels are too grippy and stick to the floor making me lose my balance and trip. And i find i end up turning rather than sliding in a straight line. Im a beginner and want to learn to stop properly. My wheels are 82a and 85a. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏
Hi! The reason why you end up turning is because you are putting too much weight on the sliding foot instead of the other one! When doing a t stop, the sliding food should barely touch the ground, while you're puting your weight the other foot! ✌️🙂
@@TiagoInlineSkater bro pls make a detailed tutorial/tips for posture and balancing of rockered for beginners. I am struggling a lot to learn to balance on that. I haven't used flat before. Just started inline learning with rockered so feeling very tough to balance, pushing is wobbling much.
@@balakumar9 I made a tutorial about that: th-cam.com/video/eHaIOoZvJHU/w-d-xo.html . But if you're starting out with the full rocker, don't worry, you'll get used to it and your legs will strengthen up too!
Is there any particular difference in doing parallel slide on inline skates and ice skates? In other words, if I learned this way of stopping on ice this winter, would I have problems on wheels in the summer, or is there any trick to bear in mind? :)
I was trying this a couple days ago but I don't think I was pushing enough with my heel and then my slide would end up with me on 1 skate. I'll try it more and try to perfect the technique
Martin Hibbert lol I need to perfect it too, I'm still turning too much, and it turns into a kind of power stop with a bit of slide. I think I need to keep my feet closer together, (and it needs a bit more speed too), then push with the heels. I think I'm getting there though th-cam.com/video/IzTeO3i6ut0/w-d-xo.html
Johro's Inline Skater Channel yes feet closer together and keep them parallel as you make the turn. Once you start to turn put the weight on your heels and push into the slide
I been practicing the power slide but I feel like my wheels are too grippy so is not sliding. Also I feel like I’m not in control if I do a power stop when going downhill even a slightly slope ground. Can anyone give me some advice?
Good stuff here! Great work as always Tiago.

Who are those who disliked this tutorial? For me I like it!!! Thiago j'adore ta vidéo et j'en pratique en cemoment. Merci

Absolutely, I had a few falls like this. :
Thanks for this tutorial.
It'd be great to see a magic slide lesson on day : °
brainsickkido Magic slide? sounds like an amazing idea!
Jeremy should have worn more than just his helmet @ 1:02 lol
Well presented tutorial, thanks
alright, I will practice all day! DAMN it just snowed outside...
TBH I wish I had the warning about the parallel slides killing your wheels sooner >.< But everything comes with a price
Jokerr Fox agree! x)
Fantastic tutorial! Thanks for sharing!
Nice one Tiago , I'll gently try it ...Ha ha 👍.
Martin Wood have fun! :)
J adore ta voix en anglais, et j'adore les slides en rollerblades ❤❤
Good Job. Ton approche du parallèle est différente de la mienne. J' adore ton explication.

what the best setup rockered for slide ? flat or banana ?
Your explanation of the physical technique was very good. What about wheel hardness? Wheel size? Frame spacing.
Hard hard hard. That did it for me. 90A and up. Get on a slope and start slaloming. Tighter and tighter, eventually you will start to slide. Padded under armor for the tailbone works good like the ones the hoopers wear
Can u slide with 2wheels
Wondering what hardness the wheels should be? Would, for example, 85A be enough?

Wet smooth concrete ... will it be better or worse when learning? For wheels and/or speed of learning.
This Video is so helpful!!!!!! THANK YOU!
Nicely explained, merci bcp!!

Can this be done on 5 wheel speed skates?
Was a great tutorial👌
I just want to ask you if heating up the evo, which your friend is wearing, makes a difference? Already thanks for your answer.
Damn that slam is what I'm afraid of when Skating :D Happened to me on ice and its not fun :( But its more common to happen on inline skates

So a hockey stop?
yup!
Tiago Inline Skater Nice!
dont do it same way as you do on ice skates, i tried :D on ice skates you are pushing more on the front/middle side of skates
What setup of wheels does jeremy have?
Dang, the guy at 0:11 is getting funky like this is Jet Set Radio

Yes on ice skates the weight is more on ball of feet
What are the steps to lead to this slide?
I was trying this a couple days ago but I don't think I was pushing enough with my heel and then my slide would end up with me on 1 skate.

good luck man! :)
Crash pads (pants) helps alot , trust me :)
QUESTION: Do harder wheels make it easier to slide or harder? I'm guessing easier. (keep on with the interesting videos)
I know I'm a bit late but it can be useful for others. XD
Softer wheels = better grip and hard wheels = less grip so they'll slide better.
