Yeah I found this on Target (refurbished) which is done straight from Acer for $319, which is not a bad deal at all. I've used Acer Desktops since 1997 and never had any issues, also had a 17.3 inch Aspire from 2010, which back then had one of the brightest screens I've ever seen on a laptop. So yeah they are cheap, and made decently. Especially compared to cheap HP models with only 4gigs of RAM in this price range and all hollow plastic. I'm coming form a 9 year old HP 17.3 inch which is still kicking, and these size laptops are rare. So I'll take it. Thanks for some in depth coverage brother. I like the premium look, and the keyboard as you said I've found is something Acer knock out of the park. ;o) So best bang for the buck, yep for sure.
Thanks so much. We were looking for an inexpensive laptop today at our local store and saw this Aspire 3. It will be gift for a relative overseas. Very good review, tells me enough to decide that it will be fine. Great humor in your monologue by the way! Witty. Enjoyed.
Thank you for the demo, I just bought one (17", I5, 16GB, 1To) and I see that the connector of the power supply is not bigger than that of my connected watch !!!
A good, honest review with a touch of relevant humor. I sometimes service education computers despite having retired as a special education boss a while ago. In spec ed senior staff need to get a bit techie now and then because accidents happen and I have often been surprised by how Acer equipment can perform with toughness at that medium point between domestic and office-ready. Dell and Lenovo used to be mainstays for bigger screens and liquid repellent keyboards but prices became a bit silly and quality control was wanting below T Series and Latitude levels but Acer tends to be tough enough and sharp corners are usually bezeled to avoid snagging. This is important where users have impaired gross motor skills. Also, we have found over years that using a good mouse and headphones always beats trackpad on onboard speakers. The Granny joke was well meant too given that visual and motor impairment come with age and various conditions thus having a laptop of clear dimensions and weight is important. Too small and light is as bad as bulky in surface area and not having a backlit keyboard is often an advantage because they can confuse people where focal length adjustment between screen and keyboard is not instantaneous. We have tended to use clip-on down facing lights illuminating the whole working area and modern ones are rechargeable so there is no tangle of wires to a USB slot. A 17" is also the 'sweet spot' for 2 or 3 people to view without intrusive parallax and using 2 mouses should be an option, as seems likely here. Dualling headphones via a 'T' adapter or Bluetooth should be a breeze. Re upgrading RAM and using other storage I look forward to seeing your suggestions and have subscribed. Plastic clips are everywhere these days and a tip I had from a proper computer engineer is to finger rub light oil or WD40 around the whole rim and give it overnight to seep. Do NOT spray except maybe with a small nozzle around the hinges then finger rub in. Next day use a spudger/guitar pick such as are cheap on Amazon and move the 2 tools progressively so that the clips release in order.
You made an excellent review of this acer laptop! I have just ordered it for my mom (not quite a grandma but she’s getting there) and I’m glad to know that this would be an excellent laptop for her 😄! Great in-depth review and really love your sense of humor! One of the best review I’ve ever seen, hands down!
I got almost 2 hours of gaming. I thoght the new charger i got fired my battery. Lol. Sound pretty good. I usually only use it to input datem and it lasts day (using by minutes). I still like it. I paid like 259 2 years back. Dont regreat. I mean an amd chip would have been better for gaming

I've had mine for over a year now and no issues, all except for the headphone jack doesn't seem to work properly. Anyone else had this issue?

Thanks for this review. Helped me decide whether this machine would be any use for the father in law. Looks like it will so I'll be picking one up.
I saw it for $ 329.99 in October 2022.
Damn vicious review
Nice review, BTW, this model comes with either 4GB or 8GB onboard memory and a single slot for upgrade.

Is it ironic that I am considered a, "Senior," and I think that I like it? I just need to go online and watch some videos and write some emails.
After 3 ASUS Fails, ACER It Is!
Will this laptop burn cds? Will it be suitable for storing photos and videos?
Power hole.
