SAFP is 9 months with 3 months in a halfway facility to help them get back into a working situation. Both give the person counseling, some group counseling, church is available, and working a job in the jail is also an option. SAFP is separated from the regular jail population. It works but only if the person wants it to work. We had family that went to SAFP and has been clean for 10 years, steady job, family, and doing well! PTL!!
I was thinking the same thing! Go into SAFP for 9-months versus 3yrs in prison. It's a program to help you, whereas she was urging the court to let her do outpatient.
Thank you! I was a little confused on how many choices she had. Judge Boyd needs to be clear on how many choices a defendant has. I don't think the defendant nor her attorney were clear on that.
I've had COVID from April 2024 to July 2024, it was brutal to recover from. But I was stil being responsible - I did have to leave my job, they offered me to come back but I found the same job/pay with another company so that I didn't have to commute (remote). It's pains me that I'm not back at my previous job, but long COVID is a thing. However, she could have still called and wore a mask when probation did field vists. You still show you're making an effort
It's not that simple. Impatient treatment is 9 to 12 months. After that, the jail still hanging over your head. Judge could give more than 3 years next time. With her time served already and good behavior, she could have been freed within 2 years. That's why you see very savvy defendants who know their limitations take prison.
Her attorney is _really_ advocating for her. I appreciate his efforts… but it’s 2 choices. Defendant is effin’ up… tons of excuses, absconding for months.
Pretty sure in that first private discussion she pressed on the defender to make another overture to the judge. And not wanting to disregard her wishes he just threw it out there. Literally did all they can do for her. She put herself in that position.
I'm so glad the judge stuck to it and didn't give in like so many other judges do. There's absolutely no reason for her to be on SSI, other than she doesn't want to work. She's most likely never worked a day in her life.
I had a difficult upbringing I was beaten from the age of 7 to 14 with a belt at least 5 days a week. I was taught I wasn't 9:00 sequential being in this existence. I absolutely detest when people use abused as the reason for their poor choices in life I'm in my light 60s now and my life has not been a bed of roses for sure but I never chose to make it worse by consciously making bad decisions
It’s a 9 month program.. not sure how long is in custody or not but either way.. 9 months or 3 years… it’s crazy to me she thought 3 yrs could be the better option
When “but my mental health your honor” doesn’t work for sympathy…..😂 Seems like she knew she was going to walk if she played the mental health card! I’m so glad to see that card was revoked!
Brought up in the world making her own bad choices and doesn't like it when she isn't given the choice she wants to make. Too bad little girl. Time to grow up and deal with reality.
So, this video begins with her getting a 2d bite of the apple already. All of them are going through life issues, health issues, etc and try to use that as an excuse for not calling in or reporting in person. Four months. What a load of crap. Every druggie has PTSD, plus, plus other issues. Poor taxpayers.
Heck, I have complex ptsd, chronic major depression, anxiety, and physical problems, but I have no problems with being a responsible adult and obeying the law.
These people who refuse treatment or help simply do NOT want to let go of the drugs/alcohol they are having a love affair with. It's not rocket science. The deeper reason they refuse is because treatment is designed to show you that your problem is NOT the alcohol/drugs...your problem is YOU. The goal of treatment is to uncover the underlying issues about YOU that YOU refuse to confront. In order to do that...the effects of drugs have to be eliminated.
Why is it the jistice systems responsibility to address the mebtal health, drug rehab etc..noone addresses it for themsleves until jail becomes a possibility and then they want it ordered and funded for them.
It is disgusting that so many young people are using the system getting SSI for mental health issues but refuse to work & commit crimes over & over & over again!! Want pity from the judge when they don’t follow the laws!!
Exactly! I'm so tired of these doctors who'll let people talk them into signing off on them living off of the TAXPAYERS for the rest of their life when there's not a thing wrong with them! They just simply don't want to work!!!
@@dianethoroughman9541 Nah, she’s got mommy, who apparently doesn’t have as big a problem with her being a lesbian as she wanted us to believe, since she asked for mommy’s advice.
Technically, she’s trying to get SSD, not SSI. You can’t work and still get SSD, or they just lower your SSD payment. SSI - payments for old people based on how much they paid into the system when working; no problem with people working while collecting this money SSD- disability payments based on your income before disability; any income you earn makes your SSD payments smaller
wow, this is her 3d or more bite of the apple. the courts need to remember that they are there, like to the police, to protect the citizens not/not babysit criminals and throw away taxpayer dollars.
She has mental health issues because her family isn’t good to her, yet her mom came to court to support her? And then she wanted her mom’s advice? This doesn’t add up.
There is no chance she is clean which is why she keeps asking for outpatient. Actually the judge is not up on current research for drug/alcohol treatment. The latest research shows outpatient treatment is just as effective, if not more effective than inpatient. So having said that maybe giving her a tether or ankle monitor would be another option. I don't blame the judge or attorneys but it's telling there is no dual diagnosis expert to testify to her needs. There are many factors in addiction and being locked up in jail/prison will get a person clean aka a detox. But there are no effective dual diagnosis programs inside I am aware of.

Thank you for explanation. I’m glad to hear that it worked out for your family member and they are doing well.
I was thinking the same thing! Go into SAFP for 9-months versus 3yrs in prison. It's a program to help you, whereas she was urging the court to let her do outpatient.
The title of this should’ve been:
“2 choices”. 😂 Judge Boyd repeated it so many times. Take the SAFP ma’am.
Last I checked Covid isn’t transmitted by phone 🤷🏼♀
not too sure but i think she's got two choices
😅
Thank you! I was a little confused on how many choices she had. Judge Boyd needs to be clear on how many choices a defendant has. I don't think the defendant nor her attorney were clear on that.
I concur. Two.
This should NOT have been a hard choice.
If it was that hard to choose… she needs the treatment.
This is what you do when you reeeeeeally don’t want to give up your addiction.
I’ve watched judge Boyd decide for a Defendant, and the decision was prison.
Yes, I've seen her do that as well.
Yes, I remember that one, too! I like how she was like, "This isn't The Price is Right."
Judge Boyd was very patient, this lady had a long time to decide.
How many times does the judge have to repeat herself? You have two choices.
Exactly! What was confusing her the 1 or the 2? 😂
@@justd4377 😂😂😂😂
She was clean long enough for court and was just waiting to leave court to use again. That’s why she is having such a hard time choosing.
I agree, she sure wanted out patient real bad
Her lawyer is trying but Boyd already gave them two choices, and her BS about covid for 4-months.

Revoke…Remand !!!!
She couldn't take inpatient treatment because she couldn't handle ACTUALLY getting treatment 💀
OH FOR PITY SAKE…..
GIVE ME A BREAK !!!!
This attorney is a pain in the butt.
Hmmmm 3 yrs in the pen...or inpatient treatment... inpatient treatment your honor ..

My judge this is not the price is right! You have to love her ❤
I might be mistaken but I think she only has two choices. 😂
I love Judge Boyd😂😂😂😂 "you got two choices"
*excuses*
"Awww damn, .....but you got two choices"😂😂😂
Compared to some of the other attorneys, I see come before Judge Boyd who are straight lazy, I would take this defense attorney over them!

I don’t know what SAFP is, but I could understand well enough: do you want prison for 3 years or the other thing?
It’s a 9 month program.. not sure how long is in custody or not but either way.. 9 months or 3 years… it’s crazy to me she thought 3 yrs could be the better option
PRISON IT BE THEN.
THREE YEARS
Bad choices got her here...DON'T DO DRUGS
Choose! Two, two!
Duh it's not a difficult choice except she doesn't really want help with her drug problems. She has an excuse for everything.
Wow, the taxpayers wont be able to give her free money for her "disability".
Judge…Just send her to prison.
Clearly…she still has drug addiction issues.
And she is trying to to get out QUIK…
Tough.
Thema the consequences of her actions !!
All I hear is that iconic line from the movie Chicken Run.
Give me an Amen if you know what I’m talking about 🐔🤣
Neck and face tattos to me screams I do not want to be any part of normal life.
I do not want to get a job.
