I love that Michelle mentions walking around Home Depot together, I work at HD and it makes my day to see a couple just strolling up and down the aisles enjoying all the things and enjoying each others company. Such a sweet sight :)
Should a married couple that had the woman’s tubes tied because the doctor said need done. Should they be celibate the rest of their marriage? To stay out of sin? I’ve asked a few people and no one has a good answer for me. My priest could not give me an answer and didn’t know where to find it. So we have now been celibate for beyond are year and a half now that the conversation came into our thoughts. We plan to keep it that way if we never get an answer.
I knew a couple, who did this and repented, and they practised a kind of NFP, of their own choice of days of abstaining, the choice set in place beforehand. Definitely a good priest's advice is in order. Seek and knock and you will find an answer. Remaining celibate can seem like a punishment to some. To others it may be what God wants for them and they are able to accept the celibacy. Keep talking… to each other and God.
