Hi Barrie Ive got one of these as a Courtesy car at the moment good fun to drive , Im looking to buy one as cant get insurance for an Ami , the one ive test drove is only the Pop version but they all have same 1.2 engine which has been around for like 30 years since the old Fiat Punto and Panda days of the 1990s so should be reliable , I was told to avoid the Twin Air version as they go wrong easily , the only issue ive had is finding one without rust as been looking for a cheap run-around for £2 to £3 grand , anyway hopefully i will get a good one , I like how easy they are to drive literally just put it in 5th gear and cruise , it can be driven fast on twisty village roads and i like how revvy the engine sounds.
I recently passed my driving test and after much debate brought the Fiat 500 2012 lounge manual, I love that it is cheap to run and small for city driving and suits my needs perfectly as a first-time driver(still very nervous about driving on my own though or on unfamiliar roads!). I managed to buy it second hand for around 3k and had about 40k miles on it around 5 months ago and passed its MOT fine and has been pretty okay, I do have one issue with my car that became apparent and that is the door handle falls off... Twice it has come off and on the driving side too which is so embarrassing in public but after searching google it looks like its a pretty common thing which made me feel a bit better! if anyone is thinking of getting this car i would recommend keeping a door repair kit for the fiat in case of an emergency.

I used to drive an Alpha Romeo Mito freshly after getting my driving licence and its pleasant to drive but boy..the gearbox is difficult to get into, specifically 5 &6... And i hope fiat 500 should be easier and smoother to drive.
Same here Barrie. Same as the classic mini. No way, in my opinion, should the modern mini be called such. The cross country version is almost as big as a freelander.

There's a button above the back number plate, just push it, and use the trunk button the key to unlock it.
Whats the clutch control like on fiat 500 i heard its difficult as its a petrol? thanks

no i don't, they are great and stylish little cars
Guys should be able to drive any car they want they shouldn’t have to be told by a girl no guys can never drive that
I thought it was only for women like me but seen lots of blokes driving the Lounge version or Abarth versions they look awesome

on the dash in the information display, there will be a number and/or an arrow pointing in the direction you should be changing, up or down
