Very nice work.. most of the KLR keyboard warriors take their bike to a shop, due to their lack of workmanship. I recently replaced my piston, posted on a Facebook KLR page, and got all sorts of negative comments. They suck. Good job. 💯

Thanks for watching. I'm not a KLR pro but I've worked on a lot of engines. Yeah there are always those who like to point out how much they know lol.

I know it will take a longer video but it will very helpful if you explain why are you doing certain things like the zip ties you used and stuff like that. They are great videos it is just a suggestion.

Did I see you replace the water pump shaft? Any reason for that?

Could you link up this screws you used in place of originals?

I've updated the description with links to the fasteners. If you order these specific ones you'll have way more than you need just for the engine.

Hi, where did you get the fasteners from? Did you order a kit, or just buy them from a hardware store separately? Also, what manual are you using? Thanks!

I ordered them from McMaster Carr, far cheaper than ordering the kit plus I could confirm the grade bolt. The KLR actually does a good job at minimizing the number of different size. It's mostly M6 25,30, and 40mm. I'm using a clymer manual but honestly it's not the best. Otherwise I just reference the KLR parts diagrams.
