Guys, let me just tell you: I know when I see genuine music lovers, and you definitely are! I especially liked what you had to say at the end of the video because I can really relate to what you said. I really didn't vibe with Kpop groups but then I found EXO and as you said: they are kinda different. I know you didn't say "That's something I would see myself listening to" but you said "That's something that you can see yourself being interested in" and Kpop is a whole new genre and new language so I can understand if it takes time to fully get used to them. But let me tell you their TITLE tracks with MV's will always be "Pop" with different genre elements, especially R&B because they are a k- POP group. But if you listen to their SIDEtracks you'll have full on R&B songs, or even EDM, Funk, Rock etc. they do all types of genres but you can always hear the R&B influence. They work with american producers, songwriters and choreographers that worked with big stars like Michael Jackson, so it makes sense that their sound is very reminiscent of the old days. I usually don't write such long texts but I just loved your reaction because I think you will fall in love with EXO's music and before you even said that you don't really vibe with other Kpop music I checked out your channel and saw you don't really react to much Kpop so I'm glad y'all are not the ones who react to every single thing just because it's "popular". We like a lot of kpop, but we are fairly new to it. We have found a lot of girl groups we like, but that was easy... Even before kpop we usually preferred female singers. But we like to branch out and try new groups and sounds. We tried listening to a clue other guy groups, but it felt like we had to be 13 year old girls to be fans. I'm glad exo sounds more mature. I'm looking forward to hearing more from them, I like a few SM artists like Red Velvet and fx..I understand sm likes to experiment 🧪 which is cool to me!

Your English is great, seems like native speaker. I love when groups experiment and try different sounds.. Because of this, sometimes you wont like the song... but others you like it a lot, makes it unique and stand out. I usually go with, if i like more songs than i dislike from a group, great! I dont have to like every song. If a group doesnt experiment, it gets boring real fast. The main group that got me into kpop was Mamamoo.. then i found G-Idle through queendom, then Red Velvet came out with Psycho, and i fell in love with them (they seem like b-side queens). So im glad to hear that EXO likes to try new things and arent afraid to change genres

EXO is one of those rare artists that every song of theirs is priceless. A sides, B sides, solo projects, sub-unit projects, every song is a gem. EXO is the only artist of which I can listen 50 songs one after the other and never get bored because of their amazing vocals and versatility in music. Take a journey with them and you’ll not regret it.
To add, EXO has a lot of very different styles. Don’t give them a stereotype because of a certain song. I remember that you don’t like excessively sexy styles, but they do have a song that makes many men feel sexy too (yes The kind that shows masculinity), there are cool and dark ones, there are also the best lyrical harmony songs, and of course there are many other styles. What I want to say is, don’t look at each of their songs with any expectation, but you can really check the era before watching mv, or you can Google it in advance.Their songs before 2017 have no subtitles. You can search for MV with fan made English lyrics.

The group debuted in 2012 as 12-member group, splited into two subunites: EXO-K - all 6 members were Korean and the unit sang in Korean, EXO-M - 4 members were Chinese and 2 Korean and they sang in Mandarin. 3 of Chinese members left EXO in 2014/2015 and at some point SM decided to bring together all members in one 9-member group with the name EXO. But don't be confused - even before this some of the songs were sang by all 12 boys under one name EXO for example Growl, and some songs were sang separately by the two subunits for example we have song MAMA - their debut song, sang by EXO-K (in Korean) and EXO-M (in Madarin). Lay is the only Chinese member is still member of the group, but because of the political tension between China and S Korea he cannot take part in the group activities since 2017. Nowadays Lay is active as a solo singer in his country and he is very, very, very huge artist there. He is not only singer, but composer, songwriter, dancer, author (yes, he has published a book), producer and CEO of his own entertainment company. And as I started with one of the members as a solo - I have to say we have another 4 soloists - Kai who you already know, Chen, Suho and Baekhyun. And all of them are very siccessful. Especially Baekhyun who became first million seller in 19 years in Korea. I think you'll like his solo work. Please check his latest single BAMBI, which is a title track of his 3rd Korean mini album. Watching your reactions about exo, i recognize myself sooo much... I had the wrong idea that male groups were composed of some young guys of course good dancers but pretty plain in term of vocals, visuals etc... Until few months ago when i casually watched an exo mv and i was speechless... The more i get interested, the more i understood why they are sooo different from other groups...
The song is called "Tempo" and the album is named Don't Mess Up My Tempo, so the song is constantly changing tempos. I think the change in tempo is also supposed to mirror the uncertainty and unsteadiness that EXO are feeling within the storyline in the MV. However, if you read the lyrics, you see that the song is talking to a girl and they are telling her, "Don't mess up my tempo." And yes, part of the tempo in the song is created by the squeak of what is thought to be bed springs. However, as with everything EXO does, there are duel meanings depending on how deeply you want to interpret the song and MV. On the surface the song and MV is meant to be enjoyed by the casual watcher and listener like you would any song on the radio, but if you want to delve in deeper and explore EXO's storyline, then there is so much more going on. As an SM group, it shouldn't be a surprise that EXO are amazing vocalists. That is just what SM is known for. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing vocals and dance skills. That's just a fact about the type of people SM selects to become part of its company. All of SM's artists were first chosen for their vocal and/or dance skills, and even the rappers get intense training as vocalists. None of SM's rappers became a trainee because of their rap skills, all of the company's rappers learned to rap, or really became good at it, only after joining the company. That is why SM is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry because they put a huge emphasis on showcasing outstanding vocal talent. And EXO is a perfect example of that. So each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. The aesthetic of the "Tempo" MV is centered around the color red because the setting is supposed to be depicting the members under the Red Forces' control. Without going into too much detail -- there is so much going on in EXO's "Tempo" MV that it's hard to grasp it all -- what fan theories think is happening in "Tempo" is it is showing the members of EXO all trapped in separate dimensions. Each of those rooms, could possibly be a different dimension and that is why you see the glitches and why you hear Xiumin and Baekhyun with that computerized voice, because they aren't all in the same place at the same time so their voices are being distorted as they try to connect between dimensions, etc. They could also still be trapped in different rooms within the maze, like what we saw them in in "Overdose." For several of EXO's MVs we believe they are still trapped within the maze and they are continuously trying to find their way out. The maze seems to affect their connection to their powers and it clouds their minds and dulls their senses, so not only are they fighting the Red Force and X-EXO, but they are also struggling to break free from the fog the Red Force has them in. That's why you see some of the members just lazily sitting around and kind of blankly staring off into space at times. Baekhyun is the one that is singled out in the MV and he is the one standing above everything looking down, so this is one example of where we think that maybe he is the only one who has avoided the Red Force's control and he is observing everything that is going on from the outside. You see Chanyeol being interrogated by Chen with the inkblot test and that is thought to be the members trying to figure out who are the real EXO members and who are the evil X-EXO members created by the Red Force -- or who are the real members and who are the clones. At this point everyone is suspicious of each other and no one can be trusted. As you may have noticed, halfway through the MV Chanyeol's eyes and hair change color, so some think that this is either showing two different versions of Chanyeol who appear in two different time periods or dimensions, or one is Chanyeol the EXO member and one is Chanyeol the X-EXO clone. In the very last scene, that is Baekhyun with that cube. I am not sure what that means, but I am sure it's foreshadowing something to come in the future with EXO's storyline. You also see EXO's Chinese member Lay in this MV, but you won't see or hear him sing or dance in this MV because you watched the Korean version and at this time the Chinese government only gave him permission to appear in the Korean version of "Tempo", but he wasn't allowed to participate in the song. If you want to hear Lay sing you will have to watch the Mandarin version of the "Tempo" MV. Lay has a few lines in the Mandarin version, but he was not allowed to work with the other members, so all his parts were recorded separately and they had to be inserted into the song and MV. He had to get special permission even to take part in this comeback, and this is the closest we have gotten to seeing him back with the group since all these political issues between Korea and China started almost 5 years ago now. And so far, this is the one and only time you will see him in an EXO MV and song since 2016. However, the tension between Korea and China has started to let up and the Chinese government, has recently rescinded their ban on Korea and China working together, so we have the potential to see Lay come back to do a project with EXO in the future. It's kind of mind blowing the amount of planning and manipulation SM Entertainment has been doing over the years to connect all the dots and to continue the story. It gets even crazier when you realize how even the most minute of details were crafted to be a hidden message or detail within that storyline. Nothing in this MV is random or done just because, even the smallest of detail has been planned out to either connect to something to do with EXO's storyline from past MVs or it will become a key part to help explain something in one of their future MVs. Here is a list of the members and what their powers are to help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances. EXO-K 💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. By the way again，this group has 9 people in official NOW，But they are usually 8 people. Due to military service, the mv in 2020 is 6 people. To add, EXO has a lot of very different styles. Don’t give them a stereotype because of a certain song. I remember that you don’t like excessively sexy styles, but they do have a song that makes many men feel sexy too (yes The kind that shows masculinity), there are cool and dark ones, there are also the best lyrical harmony songs, and of course there are many other styles. What I want to say is, don’t look at each of their songs with any expectation, but you can really check the era before watching mv, or you can Google it in advance.Their songs before 2017 have no subtitles. You can search for MV with fan made English lyrics.
I like a lot of styles including sexy styles.. I just don't like it when it turns into slutty twerking lol. So far I like everything I e heard/seen from kai/exo. I like when groups have a lot of styles, makes it exciting to be a fan

The group debuted in 2012 as 12-member group, splited into two subunites:
EXO-K - all 6 members were Korean and the unit sang in Korean,
EXO-M - 4 members were Chinese and 2 Korean and they sang in Mandarin.
3 of Chinese members left EXO in 2014/2015 and at some point SM decided to bring together all members in one 9-member group with the name EXO.
But don't be confused - even before this some of the songs were sang by all 12 boys under one name EXO for example Growl, and some songs were sang separately by the two subunits for example we have song MAMA - their debut song, sang by EXO-K (in Korean) and EXO-M (in Madarin).
Lay is the only Chinese member is still member of the group, but because of the political tension between China and S Korea he cannot take part in the group activities since 2017.
Nowadays Lay is active as a solo singer in his country and he is very, very, very huge artist there. He is not only singer, but composer, songwriter, dancer, author (yes, he has published a book), producer and CEO of his own entertainment company.
And as I started with one of the members as a solo - I have to say we have another 4 soloists - Kai who you already know, Chen, Suho and Baekhyun. And all of them are very siccessful. Especially Baekhyun who became first million seller in 19 years in Korea. I think you'll like his solo work. Please check his latest single BAMBI, which is a title track of his 3rd Korean mini album. I said Korean cause he has also Japanese mini album which I highly recommend.

EXO - Acoustic Session +Lady Luck + What If ...
Watching your reactions about exo, i recognize myself sooo much... I had the wrong idea that male groups were composed of some young guys of course good dancers but pretty plain in term of vocals, visuals etc... Until few months ago when i casually watched an exo mv and i was speechless... The more i get interested, the more i understood why they are sooo different from other groups...
The song is called "Tempo" and the album is named Don't Mess Up My Tempo, so the song is constantly changing tempos. I think the change in tempo is also supposed to mirror the uncertainty and unsteadiness that EXO are feeling within the storyline in the MV. However, if you read the lyrics, you see that the song is talking to a girl and they are telling her, "Don't mess up my tempo." And yes, part of the tempo in the song is created by the squeak of what is thought to be bed springs. However, as with everything EXO does, there are duel meanings depending on how deeply you want to interpret the song and MV. On the surface the song and MV is meant to be enjoyed by the casual watcher and listener like you would any song on the radio, but if you want to delve in deeper and explore EXO's storyline, then there is so much more going on.
As an SM group, it shouldn't be a surprise that EXO are amazing vocalists. That is just what SM is known for. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing vocals and dance skills. That's just a fact about the type of people SM selects to become part of its company. All of SM's artists were first chosen for their vocal and/or dance skills, and even the rappers get intense training as vocalists. None of SM's rappers became a trainee because of their rap skills, all of the company's rappers learned to rap, or really became good at it, only after joining the company. That is why SM is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry because they put a huge emphasis on showcasing outstanding vocal talent. And EXO is a perfect example of that.
So each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us.
The aesthetic of the "Tempo" MV is centered around the color red because the setting is supposed to be depicting the members under the Red Forces' control. Without going into too much detail -- there is so much going on in EXO's "Tempo" MV that it's hard to grasp it all -- what fan theories think is happening in "Tempo" is it is showing the members of EXO all trapped in separate dimensions. Each of those rooms, could possibly be a different dimension and that is why you see the glitches and why you hear Xiumin and Baekhyun with that computerized voice, because they aren't all in the same place at the same time so their voices are being distorted as they try to connect between dimensions, etc.
They could also still be trapped in different rooms within the maze, like what we saw them in in "Overdose." For several of EXO's MVs we believe they are still trapped within the maze and they are continuously trying to find their way out. The maze seems to affect their connection to their powers and it clouds their minds and dulls their senses, so not only are they fighting the Red Force and X-EXO, but they are also struggling to break free from the fog the Red Force has them in. That's why you see some of the members just lazily sitting around and kind of blankly staring off into space at times.
Baekhyun is the one that is singled out in the MV and he is the one standing above everything looking down, so this is one example of where we think that maybe he is the only one who has avoided the Red Force's control and he is observing everything that is going on from the outside.
You see Chanyeol being interrogated by Chen with the inkblot test and that is thought to be the members trying to figure out who are the real EXO members and who are the evil X-EXO members created by the Red Force -- or who are the real members and who are the clones. At this point everyone is suspicious of each other and no one can be trusted. As you may have noticed, halfway through the MV Chanyeol's eyes and hair change color, so some think that this is either showing two different versions of Chanyeol who appear in two different time periods or dimensions, or one is Chanyeol the EXO member and one is Chanyeol the X-EXO clone.
In the very last scene, that is Baekhyun with that cube. I am not sure what that means, but I am sure it's foreshadowing something to come in the future with EXO's storyline.
You also see EXO's Chinese member Lay in this MV, but you won't see or hear him sing or dance in this MV because you watched the Korean version and at this time the Chinese government only gave him permission to appear in the Korean version of "Tempo", but he wasn't allowed to participate in the song. If you want to hear Lay sing you will have to watch the Mandarin version of the "Tempo" MV. Lay has a few lines in the Mandarin version, but he was not allowed to work with the other members, so all his parts were recorded separately and they had to be inserted into the song and MV. He had to get special permission even to take part in this comeback, and this is the closest we have gotten to seeing him back with the group since all these political issues between Korea and China started almost 5 years ago now. And so far, this is the one and only time you will see him in an EXO MV and song since 2016. However, the tension between Korea and China has started to let up and the Chinese government, has recently rescinded their ban on Korea and China working together, so we have the potential to see Lay come back to do a project with EXO in the future.
It's kind of mind blowing the amount of planning and manipulation SM Entertainment has been doing over the years to connect all the dots and to continue the story. It gets even crazier when you realize how even the most minute of details were crafted to be a hidden message or detail within that storyline.
Nothing in this MV is random or done just because, even the smallest of detail has been planned out to either connect to something to do with EXO's storyline from past MVs or it will become a key part to help explain something in one of their future MVs.
Here is a list of the members and what their powers are to help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances.
EXO-K
💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho)
💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light
🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix.
🌏D.O. (Do KyungSoo) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control earth (dirt) which gives him strength/force
☄Kai (Kim JongIn) is a main dancer, lead vocalist and sub-rapper and his power is teleportation. (Kai means opening as in a door or gateway, so his stage name symbolizes his role within EXO's storyline.)
🌪Sehun is the youngest member of the group and he is a main rapper, main dancer and a vocalist -- his power is the ability to control wind
EXO-M
❄Xiumin (Kim MinSeok) is the oldest member of the group and he is a lead vocalist and lead rapper and his power is the ability to control snow/ice (frost)
🦄 Lay (Zhang Yixing) is the Chinese member of the group, he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and rapper -- his power is the ability to heal anything.
🌩 Chen (Kim JongDae) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control thunder/lightning/electricity
(As you can see, Xiumin and Chen were given stage names that sounded more Chinese so they would fit in better in EXO-M because they are the Korean members of the Chinese group)

🐉 Kris was the leader of EXO-M he was a main rapper and vocalist -- his power was the ability to fly and his spirit animal was a dragon
💭 Luhan was a main vocalist and his power was telekinesis (The ability to control things with his mind)
⏰Tao (Z. Tao) was a lead rapper and vocalist and the martial artist of the group, so he did the flips and stunts in the group's routines. His power was the ability to control time.
EXO's main sound is RnB but they're an experimental group and are known for their vocals. They also have that mature sound to them too that makes them alluring. If you like this sound i suggest "Call Me Baby" by EXO. They're particularly good at 90s rnb. EXO are currently 9 members. So if you see this MV & if ever you get the chance to remember their faces you would notice that there's 2 members (who left) in that MV. The song was released in 2015.

EXO from their debut have a concept that they are from EXO planet, a planet out of our solar system ( EXO means outer), each member has each one superpower and they are chased by the Red forces

NCT is a male group that stands for Neo Culture Technology. They are now 23 members, but their number is unlimited, so new members will be added. It also consists of the fact that most of them are foreigners. For now there are four sub units: NCT 127, NCT U, NCT Dream and WayV. They also released a song: "RESONANCE"- NCT 2020 (the song is a mix of their 4 new songs Make A Wish, Work It, Raise The Roof and 90's Love) where they're all 23 members. Sub units will increase over time as members.💚

By the way again，this group has 9 people in official NOW，But they are usually 8 people. Due to military service, the mv in 2020 is 6 people. In the early stage, there are 12 and 10 people mvs, so don't be surprised by the number，They have experienced a lot in the past.. Just need to know that if they can move, usually 8 people will do.
I've read that they have had to take breaks for military. So we will keep that in mind as we get to know them better
