    What great information. I'd love to pick your brain. I used to live in the East Antilles now I'd like to purchase in Roatan to retire

    Do you have detailed videos on retirement over 65 and his people do it properly from the US and Canada?

      I don’t but I can start collecting information for a video.

    I was able to get 90 days flying in. It prompted customs to ask me additional questions but I was already prepared to answer them so 90 days is doable if you ask and have the right responses. ☺

      Always great to be prepared. Really depends on the agent, I have had friends show their exit at 63 days and the agents give them 60 days. Being kind and having the right responses can go a long way!

    I’ve been thinking about moving to Honduras. I’m from Houston, Tx. My dad passed away. He’s from La Ceiba, Honduras. I should be able to get citizenship. I think the US does Dual Citizenship.

      So sorry to hear about your father. I believe it is easier to get citizenship since you have a direct Honduran family member. We have long term residency.

      If your parents or one of your parents is/was Honduran, that means that you’re a Honduran citizen already.

    How strick was Roatan with covid restrictions?

    • @LaurenHughesRealtorandInvestor
      @LaurenHughesRealtorandInvestor  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was fairly strict especially the first 6 months. We had to stay home and we’re allowed out once a week. It was kind of nice that groceries and everything were delivered.

    How much time per year do you have to spend in country to maintain a residency visa? How much time do you have to spend in country per year during the 3 years of residency if you want to apply for citizenship after 3 years?

    • @LaurenHughesRealtorandInvestor
      @LaurenHughesRealtorandInvestor  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure citizenship is really an option or it wasn’t for us. With our residency we can’t be gone 12 consecutive months but didn’t really enforce that during Covid

      Thank you for your reply. Do you mean you weren’t interested in citizenship or that there was a reason it is not available to U.S. citizens? Could you recommend a good source of information for residency / citizenship?

      @@stevemilton8174 www.residencyhonduras.com/. We used lissa. My understanding is they don’t do citizenships, they have long time residents. But lissa is the best to ask that question too. We have worked with her for years.

    What is the rent for a one bedroom home or apartment?

    • @LaurenHughesRealtorandInvestor
      @LaurenHughesRealtorandInvestor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really varies depending on where you live and quality of the unit. On the low end around west end is about $700, you can get cheaper but they are hard to find. If you go mid island or east end you can find them around $500. West bay will probably be closer to $1000. And most rentals vary their price by season especially in west bay, high season is Dec-April.
