UK here, last years summer and this years summer have been exceptionally cooler im so jealous that you guys are having the summer we SHOULD be getting 😂
I live right by Bakersfield and we’re supposed to get 105 today and 106 tomorrow, so this morning I’m going to get a shade cloth setup for the next few days.
Got an excessive heat warning going into effect tomorrow; here we head into summer! Everything is very well watered and has been doing just fine in the upper 90s, so let’s see how they do in the triple digits! They did very well last summer so here we go again haha
@@ThatOneSnake oops! I was moving too fast! 😂🤦♀️ we do store them both in the fridge, the seeds we place in small wax paper bags and then in a resealable plastic bag with a little packet of silica! We store pollen in aluminum foil
Are 3D printed pots safe for Venus flytraps? I have a couple I wanted to use next year when/if I split the Admiral (Admiral Ackbar - “it’s a trap!” - At least I crack myself up!)
Make sure you watch the temperature, PLA and some other filaments get soft if left in the sun for too long!! I learned this the hard way, 3D printed parts will totally melt if you're not careful. Of course, some filaments will handle higher temperatures.
my flytrap - sundew alicei lost its dew becouse of heat! i dont know when it will come back?! i put now more water and it become less hot. i hope dew comes back as leaves keeps growing.
what happined to the pinguicula gigantea ( just the normal one no breeds) its not in the store and i have been waiting to buy one but now i dont know if there even sold out becus there not in the store will it be back i would love to know. (this is not a a complaint i love this store this is just my second favorite carnivorous plant)
Dude I live in Southern California a put my plants in a grow tent outside, but the problem is, is that they keep burning. I don’t have a good place for sunlight though I do have a grow light but it is almost broken what do I do.
The problem, from what I understand, is that in a tent or greenhouse there might not be sufficient airflow to help regulate the temperature, so yes, you will most probably end up killing your plants due to excessive heat. If you don't have enough sun, min 4 to 5 hours per day for certain carnivorous species, you will have to resort to alternative mediums like growlights. Obviously then you will have to get yourself a proper light, that works, and make sure the water setup is also adequate. Otherwise you will just end up losing your plants eventually. Good luck!
@@smileyfog So true. Grow tents can be a task to control the environment especially if the sun hits it. Same with a greenhouse. Airflow is critical and humidity directly affects temperature.

Oh man, we’re in for a crazy hot summer this year! 😂
@@California_Carnivores I wish😂 your sarracenia will be loving life, so many of mine are way behind
Southwest Mississippi here. My plants stay outside in bog gardens all year long. They have done well for several years.
48708 MI here. I have a large bird cage to keep the squirrels out. It also works to support shade cloth when needed.
I’ve heard from so many people, all over the country, that the squirrels have been so terrible this year! Little trouble makers!
Thanks for the new video
Great tips & info.
A minor request: put the temperatures in Celsius on the video as well; saves time googling the conversion :D
Here in Central Texas, it gets over 100 almost every day, from June through August. I have a swamp cooler for the greenhouse, which helps a lot.

Can you do a video on Nepenthes seed and pollen storage?
It’s known by both names in the hobby 😊
@@California_Carnivores lol I think you replied to the wrong comment?

It can take a few days up to a week or two to regenerate dew after they lose it, just give it a little time!

They just keep selling out really quickly when I restock them! There will be more in a month or so!
@@California_Carnivores when i look up pinguicula gigantea its says 404 page not found
Do you use only distilled water? Where do source enough for your needs?
Nurseries use Reverse Osmosis systems to provide enough pure water for their stock of carnivorous plants.
We have a very powerful reverse osmosis unit and our water also is very pure at our location!

What exactly does "almost broken" means?
@@smileyfog it just doesn’t work as well as it used to
