3DS Max - How To - Show Invisible Edges And Quadrify Faces

  • In this video, we will see how to show the hidden edges and make them permanently visible to be used in Editable Poly. Also, and quickly, we will learn how to use the Quadrify tool in Editable Poly to create quad faces out of Non-Quad faces. This tool doesn't have 100% success result all the time, it depends on the object's mesh, but it will try its best. In many cases, it's 100% successful.

    Amazing tutorial! These invisible edges have been annoying me so much and I didn't understand them >_<
    but this technique seems to fix everything! :D

    I don't even know the purpose of these hidden edges tool... It was really annoying, thanks for the help n_n

      Actually all polygons are made of triangles, and these dotted edges are shown the under the hood faces. It's left as an option for the user to convert them to real edges in case they are need. And by the way, when quadrifying the polygons, they are still made of triangle under the hood.

      @@MiledRizk Yeah I was just trying to export a model from 3DS to other softs and those all were showing all the edges but 3DS was hiding them so I wasn't understanding the problem haha
