Xiumin is taking piano lessons in the main female character's house. The piano teacher is the girl's father and Xiumin takes the piano classes before her. He watches her play and realizes that she is blind when she drops the candies. So he plays a song for her and they become close taking lessons at the same house. However, her father knew that they were in love and tries to separate them because he knew that Xiumin was ill with a fatal heart disease and he didn't want his daughter to become hurt after she knew he left her. As a result, he called Xiumin's butler/driver (whatever that guy is who is picking up the phone) to take him away and while struggling to stay with the girl and not leave, he dropped his pills. The girl picked it up realized he was ill, but still waited in her house where they took the class together for him. Xiumin came few days later from the hospital/or his house (not sure) knowing he would die soon. He played the piece he played for her in their first encounter (remember he played something for her?) not realizing she is there listening and she knew it's him and smiles. However, while playing Xiumin dies and the melody stops. The girl first thought something happened to him but she smiles again thinking that he's okay (she can't see, only hear) when his father finishes the song Xiumin played. Xiumin gets carried off. That's the end of the story. This is a translation from most of the Korean blogs and cafes so I have to say it's quite plausible and the one which makes sense the most. Also, the lyrics have the meaning of "I'm standing at the place where we used to be together, but you're not here" that's the main part of the song and it matches exactly with the MV. She's there but he's not.
actually, the piece Xiumin plays in the end is the melody in the song itself where he confesses to her - "I love you", just like the number 1004 also means I love you hehe. He passes out before he can finish the piece, in which he couldnt tell her that he loved her properly. Her father finishes the piece and also finishes the sentense "I love you" for Xiu and basically tells his daughter that he (Xiu) loved her (but also the father).

Xiumin has a sickness that causes him to need to take his medicine constantly to stop the pain in his heart and prevent him from dying early. Yoo Jung's father (piano teacher) knew this and he didn't want his daughter to be with Xiumin and have her heart broken because he knows for a fact that Xiumin doesn't have much time to live in this world. However, despite the father's effort to keep them apart, they still became friends and became close. Yoo Jung's father found out about this and kept Xiumin away from his daughter. While the guards or butlers were taking Xiumin away from Yoo Jung, his medicine fell. Yoo Jung took this hoping to give it back to him but she was locked in her room. She was worried until she heard Xiumin playing a song on the piano, but all the worries came back when the playing stopped. Yoo Jung's father knew that his daughter was listening and is probably very worried, so he continued the piece that Xiumin was playing, hoping to ease the pain in his daughter's heart and letting her believe that Xiumin is fine. this is how i interpreted the story. i dont exactly know if xiumin died but i'm assuming he did... even if it has been so long, the feels still come back :'--(

Xiumin is taking piano lessons in the main female character's house. The piano teacher is the girl's father and Xiumin takes the piano classes before her. He watches her play and realizes that she is blind when she drops the candies. So he plays a song for her and they become close taking lessons at the same house. However, her father knew that they were in love and tries to separate them because he knew that Xiumin was ill with a fatal heart disease and he didn't want his daughter to become hurt after she knew he left her. As a result, he called Xiumin's butler/driver (whatever that guy is who is picking up the phone) to take him away and while struggling to stay with the girl and not leave, he dropped his pills. The girl picked it up realized he was ill, but still waited in her house where they took the class together for him. Xiumin came few days later from the hospital/or his house (not sure) knowing he would die soon. He played the piece he played for her in their first encounter (remember he played something for her?) not realizing she is there listening and she knew it's him and smiles. However, while playing Xiumin dies and the melody stops. The girl first thought something happened to him but she smiles again thinking that he's okay (she can't see, only hear) when his father finishes the song Xiumin played. Xiumin gets carried off. That's the end of the story.
This is a translation from most of the Korean blogs and cafes so I have to say it's quite plausible and the one which makes sense the most. Also, the lyrics have the meaning of "I'm standing at the place where we used to be together, but you're not here" that's the main part of the song and it matches exactly with the MV. She's there but he's not.

actually, the piece Xiumin plays in the end is the melody in the song itself where he confesses to her - "I love you", just like the number 1004 also means I love you hehe. He passes out before he can finish the piece, in which he couldnt tell her that he loved her properly. Her father finishes the piece and also finishes the sentense "I love you" for Xiu and basically tells his daughter that he (Xiu) loved her (but also the father).
So did Xiumin die in the mv? The way that old man carrying him was just....like Xiumin was just faint or smth
i wanna share with you about this story but too longs maybe i can share with you the last part 'During the cadenza,Minseok was telling everything he loves about her.If it were transleted into sentences,it would be "i love you this,your that,and your everything".But Minseok stopped before he reached the coda,the part that translates to "i love you".Her father decided to play it for him,he played the last notes of the song Minseok failed to finish.Her father played the final part that how tranlates to "he loves you".That's why she smile at the end,becoz she know that Minseok love her and that's all matters.She knew Minseok loves her even though he was "GONE".

Xiumin has a sickness that causes him to need to take his medicine constantly to stop the pain in his heart and prevent him from dying early. Yoo Jung's father (piano teacher) knew this and he didn't want his daughter to be with Xiumin and have her heart broken because he knows for a fact that Xiumin doesn't have much time to live in this world. However, despite the father's effort to keep them apart, they still became friends and became close. Yoo Jung's father found out about this and kept Xiumin away from his daughter. While the guards or butlers were taking Xiumin away from Yoo Jung, his medicine fell. Yoo Jung took this hoping to give it back to him but she was locked in her room. She was worried until she heard Xiumin playing a song on the piano, but all the worries came back when the playing stopped. Yoo Jung's father knew that his daughter was listening and is probably very worried, so he continued the piece that Xiumin was playing, hoping to ease the pain in his daughter's heart and letting her believe that Xiumin is fine.
this is how i interpreted the story. i dont exactly know if xiumin died but i'm assuming he did... even if it has been so long, the feels still come back :'--(
