This worked great. I was starting to worry that something is wrong with my spark and I should return it to store, but now I jumped from 500m with OTG cable to 1200m. I had obstacles between me and drone, so probably it could fly further. Now I`m ready to motorcycle trip to Norway after few weeks! Great! ThankYou for tip :))
True that. There are more and more restrictions kicking in worldwide, and they are for good reasons. Would you please post a link to the website, could be a good resource to be pinned in the description.
Thank you! I have been looking for this for a long time. So stupid that the advertisement says it can go 2000m, and most of the youtubers say it can go 2000m, but not for us in EU. Unless you have this app ;)
Hey Toxort, awesome to see your comment here. Which country are you located at? I have seen that in different countries the levels of transmission are even lower :\ And yeah - youtube could be somewhat misleading - most of the popular channels out there are US-based. It is great to see it is now working for you. Happy flying! :-)
You don't need to use a modified APP. Just download Floater on your Android device to fake the GPS location to a US location then run your normal DJI app and you will get the message asking if you want to change your WiFi settings. Once you have done that stop Floater and use your proper GPS location. You will get the WiFi message again but just click CANCEL and you will remain in FCC mode. If you need to use an iPad then you can after you have changed the mode first with Android. When you are on your iPad you won't keep getting this message asking to change back. It will still be in FCC mode though.
So i got a Question, does the return to home function work if i'll juse this mod? Because if the drone thinks i'm somewhere else how could she new where the real home point is...🤔
Hi again, I'm needing your assistance if your schedule permits. With DJI's latest firmware update, one of the perks is the panoramic capabilities increasing from 180 to 360 degrees. Its my understanding, the Spark will take approximately thirty-something photos which you'll later be able to stick together on the DJI app or in a 3rd party app such as THETA+. Sounds great, eh? Well in real life this last weekend I when into the photo options and selected Pano, and then Sphere options and took two photos at a high altitude. When down loading the two pano shots (which are conveniently separated from your other videos and pics on this sim card, and separated among themselves, I might add), upon review, I see the Spark only took nine photos in each shot. What am I doing wrong here?? Any insight here would be much appreciated as I'll be visiting a relatives ranch soon and would love to photograph it in this manner. Much thanks, Bryan
Hey Bryan, First of all - welcome to this modest community and I am glad to see you posting. I wish I could have seen this comment earlier today, as from tomorrow weather will be pretty bad over here. And today was a wonderful sunny and non-windy day... I am not familiar with the panoramic mode at all, and have just read about it. Noticed the firmware update, however I've not updated yet. Will do that soon, of course. If you haven't found any solution, I'll probably test that during the weekend, if the weather gets better as forecasted.
Thank you for the reply, I was planning on the same this weekend. I'd fly it during lunch at work, but we're near a massive airport and often have low flights directly overhead. Houston also has lots of helicopters so we have to be mindful. In retrospect, I was in very bright sunlight that made it hard to see my phone...I'm wondering if I moved the controls too soon, or was it the high wind warnings I was getting. May I ask what program you use to edit your videos? Thanks much, Bryan
After the latest update July 2018 you will have to do the fake GPS thing down in the basement or at least at home where there is no satellites visible for the drone. Only then it believes the fake GPS on the android phone. Connect any android phone with fake GPS wireless by connecting to spark-rc SSID. This will not work with OTG cable while switching. Flying outside afterwards it notices and wants to change Wifi settings to CE - hit "cancel" every time to stay in FCC mode. No need to install this modded app! And you can fly without fake GPS and with OTG cable. Just hit "cancel" to NOT switch back to EC mode every startup
Hi can you suggest to dji to built a one off .ACI anti crash parachute to every drones. This would greatly reduced the downspeed to more than 60 upon dropped from the sky.this is the must before every flight just like to have a lifejacket to every sailors. They could just fold the chute on top of the drones in a very small space or compartments.we can use the onboard locators to find the missing drones on earth.tq
Hi Nice video I have a questing being a new drone user .. I am buying a refurb drone spark with FCC mode activated..My question is will the return home work and I won't lose the drone ?? thanks
Dude, awesome video. Question is this did not affect at all the return to home? I mean app does not know where it is (thinks it's states), but return to home works ok?
Works absolutely flawless. Luckily those two features are not related to each-other. I assume that the logic is as follows: the DJI Go app uses your phone (I believe that because it asks me about switching wlan settings even if no GPS is located) to figure out where you are, and based on that turns the transmitter in FCC or CE mode. In fact, I remember very clearly the very same question being asked when I ran the drone for the first time, as it arrived from China. Meaning that if you order it and keep hitting "cancel" you may even not need the mod-procedure :-)
Thank you man! ps: god damn it, and when it asked me for the country and i chose it, then chose yes to that dialog. I asked myself will this impact my experience in any way? naaaaaaahhhhhhhh....
The Mavic Air in CE mode gets 2000m range and that complies. So why is the spark only getting 500m(according to DJI Specs) in CE mode? Surely it should be as good as the Air?
Marcel, likely the difference has something to do with the foldable antenna receivers that the Air has. From experience I don't see much of difference between the air and Spark in CE mode - at the same area they were sort of dropping signal at very close distances and I can promise you that it happened with the Mavic Air way before it was expected to.
So I'd say - they are very close in terms of transmitter performance. And I prefer to use both in FCC mode - not because of the greater range, but because of the signal stability.
once you have done the fcc mod do you still have the flight restrictions im still limited to 150 in height because i live within a flight path of an airport
The flight restrictions are usually implied by the No-FLying-Zone maps - so most likely this limitation will remain. FCC mode is about the transmission power of the remote.
Hello man, I have DJI Spark. I really want to try this modded app, is this working with the latest firmware? and can it detect your real GPS location which can be used for return home?
Hey great video, I’m in the uk and keen to get my spark into fcc mode, I am using iOS but I can’t seam to find the app that I need. Do I need to use a android device to do it then go back onto iOS ?
That will be the safest option. The App being used here is modded and as far as I know it is not that easy to have a modded app on IOS. So better borrow a device with android, apply the change and use the original app for iOS after that. It works fine according to many iPhone users here.
Hello, I have my Spark now for 4 days, but it doesn't work for the latest version (4.1.18) on Android (using Huawei Mate 9). It worked only on the first time when I use the mod, when I opened the mod I can set the controller to the US. When I uninstalled that mod app, and i instal the DJI app from the Google Play store it goes automaticly back to the CE installation. So you can't see on which channel you are currently are and you can't choose 5.8 (it's always on 2.4 ?) and now the range is even worse, it's still 400/500 meters. I tried to do the all process multiple times but I get the same result every time.
hello @tech4all Today I tested it. 1st: I fly with the original 4.1.18 app...; 340/360 meters with a few connection errors, than it came back home. Then I unstalled the app. I installed the modded app,... set the remote to US etc. Then I unstalled the modded app and instal the original 4.1.8 app,... At that time (my battery was drown to 60 %) I make a flight of 660 meters without connection errors :D I let it come back to me by myself ;)
Yes, it works for most of the DJI drones, especially those which have CE and FCC specs. This video here is easier to follow and requires no modded apps: th-cam.com/video/0gySNYwWhtc/w-d-xo.html
Sure - just go to FCC mode and select your preferred 2.4ghz channel. The idea is not to use "Auto" but to select a preferred channel. And that's it :-)
Yes, settings will be still in FCC mode. You should of course always select "cancel" after you are in FCC mode and when you are prompted for switching Wifi settings.
Thanks for the video and your super easy instructions. I just subscribed, hope you make more helpful Spark videos! :D Btw. the automatic subtitles think you are speaking Dutch lol
No, you do not! :-) Just hit "cancel" every time when you are asked about switchinf wifi settings. In fact it almost always comes in FCC mode or in China mode (which basically is having the same transmission power).
Hello. Thanx for the good work. The links to the modded app point to apk of version 4_4.1.3_v25 ?!? Was it not supposed to be 4_4.1.8?? Trying to install these I get an error? Can you confirm that the link is correct or send the correct link to the 4.1.8 version? Thanx again.
The modded version is indeed the 4.1.3 . I use 4.1.8 original after I do the adjustment into FCC mode. So - use the modded app first, then get the 4.1.8. you can download it from apkmirror.com - there seem to be twi different versions, depending on the phone and Android version level. Please let me know if that worked.
Hello. I finally had a chance to try it out and it works wihtout any problems! Great to be able to use the extra range! Thanks a lot! One more question: do you have experience with mods that give the spark the posibility to use more intelligent flight modes? I am missing the waypoints specially. Would be great to know your experience or suggestions. Thanks again for the great work!
I haven't tried with the 4.2.12 but there is no reason not to work. I am not a fan of updating apps too often but had to recently use the latest DJI Go 4 and it worked fine. Latest versions are fine, so go ahead and update if you like :-)
Hi Finian, thanks for stopping by. The easiest way is to borrow someone's Android device for 10 minutes and follow the tutorial. Nothing you have to do on your iPhone afterwards except choosing "cancel"if it wants to switch the WiFi.
Hello and thanks for a detailed guide! I can confirm that the hack works well with Iphone here in in Sweden. (I only used Android for applying the hack, HUAWEI Y6) When I press "go fly", on my Iphone I get the question of connecting to the new wifi network, then I press cancel. I have tested with the IOS 4.1.15 Iphone-app with the OTG cable as well as the wifi connection and both works perfect. With wifi I get 11 channels 2.4ghz as well as 5 channels 5.8ghz which confirms that the hack works. I have also tested with the OTG cable and then the app is locked to 2.4ghz only, which is normal, (2,4ghz is better for longer flights) In general, I'm better connected to the satellites as well as the overall connection to the drone. I will try a longer flight tomorrow, I will get back with the result. I have the latest firmware both in my Spark and remote, batteries. Thanx again :-)
Björn Jonsson Hi Bjorn Thanks for the update. So you can confirm that it also works with the DJI GO 4 release 4.1.20? I’m getting my Spark tomorrow so it’s very exciting:-). Planned to use IOS. As you do
Hi Per! I have now tried with IOS 4.1.20 and wifi seems to work fine with the hack, but with OTG-cable attached I get the message "Weak image signal" But I haven't tried to fly yet. Tomorrow I will also update to IOS 4.1.22 witch was released today in Sweden. Are you Swedish by the way? I will stay on IOS 4.1.15 on my other Spark-dedicated Iphone just to keep the OTG -possibility
Björn Jonsson Hi Bjorn Thanks for your prompt response. Sounds great that it also works with 4.1.20. I have just installed DJI4GO and that was the version on App Store. I look forward to receive the Spark tomorrow, and I don’t think I will need the full FCC distance but I like the thought having extra distance. I’m located in Denmark at the west coast of Jylland close to Esbjerg. Im very interested to hear your experience with regards to distance in FCC mode. Enjoy the evening
Thank you very much for confirming all that is working and giving feedback about the area I have no visibility at! :-) And wish you to have awesome flight today :-) P.S I have also noticed the better coverage at 2.4. Interestingly that made a bigger difference when I was still using CE mode with OTG. And when FCC was enabled it didn't really make any difference.
Thanks for the reply. So, For Phone 2 (android) do I have to install same DJI GO 4 Apk? and to doo FCC mode there and then to uninstall it. And then to connect with my real phone *Phone 1* which is Iphone . correct?
Hi! Great Video! I have managed to go into FCC mode with the help of your previous video about this topic, and with an OTG cable i reached 3,2 kilometers without even losing signal before it initiated RTH! Probably it could go even further! However, with the Sparks update a few weeks ago everything got messed up and I was tortured for a whole day to get the hacked up to work again. And I only managed to make it work using WIFI. Now when I use an OTG cable it seems to be stuck in CE mode and I dont get more than 500 meters. When I turn back to WIFI I get around 1,5 kilometers, which is perfectly fine for me. Good idea that with the second phone!
hi i have the latest firmware in my spark. with otg cable i got only 600 meters untill rth kicked in. did not try wifi yet. i do not get a notification of location change when i start the dji go4 app. do you get that notification after the update?
If you dont get a notificaation of location change then you are still in CE mode. Clear your phone's cache, uninstall the original dji go 4 app, install the hacked app and connect to spark. When you connect to spark with the hacked app, if you get a notification of location change just press cancel, uninstall the hacked app, install the original app, connect to spark via wifi and you should get a notification of location change on the original app as well. And you are good to go.
No, not at all. It is not a modification of the firmware or something. To be on the safe side, make sure to use the original dji go4 app once you are in fcc mode.
Wow, awesome, thanks for the feedback. One queston though: I Know it works the first time. But does it stay in FCC after closing the app and opening again?
Easyer way...Android device > Developer mode > FakeGPS from PlayStore > select a GPS point on the US > Open official DjiGo4 app and wait for the message about region chane.... Done you're in FCC mode!Open DjiGo4 again on iOS or Android and say NO on message to change back to CE mode
Hi Azry - very likely this will work, yes. If it doesn't, it wouldn't harm. Why do you want to apply this on the Phantom? It should have the perfect range, no matter where you fly.
Does this work if my main version of the app is 4.1.18 or do i have to keep the main version 4.1.15? Also I can't seem to install the app from the link u posted my phone won't recognise it as an apk
tech4all awesome thanks!! But do you have a download link for the APK that works when I try install the one you linked the 1st link doesn't work and the second one won't open :/
I am using the app since the very beginning, inspired by a two Greek guys that got almost 4km range (that was above water :-) ). So yeah - it totally works, as long as you follow the steps. And make sure to NOT enter your real credentials on the modded app.
I have a question: I already tried this but everytime after changing to FCC when i reinstalled the stock app, it change back to EC by itself !!! i dont even get asked. DO you know if DJI fixed it in the latest version so that we cant use the stock app in FCC anymore ? i did a fly with the moddeed app and i reached 2 km.... so i am sure i was in FCC before reinstalling the stock app Ohh and nice Vid btw ;)
Lukas Martin , looks like it. I have updated the description with the info that 4.1.8 works better. I have the same symptoms as you do with the latest.
Yes, correct. Technically this will be downgrade :D We currently have 4.1.18, and 4.1.8 dates back from the summer time. It is quite stable and I use it all the time.
tech4all ok thank you Very much 👍 i Just tried it and i reached 2.4 km with OTG and Zero Connection Problems. The Only reason i Had to so rth was the battery. So it Seems to work. Only Thing i reconiced was that the Video Button on the Screen was way to big, nur i think i can live with that for the extra 2 km range xD
Lukas, that is AWESOME news! I have never flown that far! Amazing! By the way there is a video about spark going over the sea and reaching 4 kilometers. It is pretty exciting, you can check it out too. Enjoy that long range!
Sure thing! I actually use this mod ever since I got Spark. And please note - I use the original DJI Go4, the modded app is just used for switching to US location and nothing more. I fly only with the original DJI App.
I don't think so. Losing GPS signal may be caused by many things. I'd recommend making sure you have the latest firmware. If that continues - get in touch with DJI support.
Today I've tried the new firmware and the mod works fine. If you use the latest app (android is 4.1.16) the mod won't work. You may use 4.1.8 instead, I will put a link to it in the description.
Thanks but it doesn't work for the latest version (4.1.18) on Android (using Galaxy S7 Edge). It worked only on the first time I opened the app and after that the WIFI section is screwed up on the app, you can't see on which channel you are currently are and you can't choose 5.8 (it's always on 2.4) and now the range is even worse. I tried to do the all process multiple times but I get the same result every time.
Hi Yoav, you are correct. This is why two weeks ago I have updated the description pointing to the 4.1.8 version which I know works. Looks like the restriction is mostly for Android users, and the same version - 4.1.18 - is fine with iPhones. So you may go a bit back. only thing you really loose is the 360 shooting.
If you have an iphone, you can use the latest version from the app store. Otherwise if you have Android, use version 4.1.15 (this is the latest version that works with the FCC hack). You can download the android version from apkmirror.com
Dude I downloaded it and had to use my account cuz it didn't accept anything else... now I tried to change these that u did on about tab but it won't let me change anything... help
tech4all I've tried on two phones. I'll try once again from your links. I can't find it on apkmirror. I can't even finde them on any forums. Links removed everywhere. I think DJI try to protect their work. I just want to have better transmission in near range.
Here is direct link to apkmirror: www.apkmirror.com/apk/dji-technology-co-ltd/dji-go/dji-go-3-1-8-release/ Give it a try. There are two versions - depending on which version of android you are running. You can try both.
Everything works fine, exept i cant change the chanal. It always goes automatacly in 5.8 and wenn i want to change the channel input it says: "Caution it will restart the wifi". But nothing happens. Any Idea what the problem could be? Im runnig the 4.1.8 version. Thanks for your help
That used to be the most reliable way to operate at a frequency of your choice. Some of the last firmwares have started to mix them during flight, and I haven't tested with the latest firmware. But yeah - trying via the OTG is always a good idea.
tech4all At the begining when i open up the 4.1.8 Version if i want to updare the No-flyzone Database. I always press the"later" button. Should i maybe update that? Thaanks for your help?
@@hallomusterman1439 Depends on how you use that and where. I have never ever had issues. These regulations are brought mostly to ensure less impact on your health caused by the transmitted signal.
The latest firmware update makes it impossible to choose cancel. The only option for the wlan is OK. That is on an iPhone, maybe android is different? I just got my third (repaired) brand new Spark from dji, so when connecting I got the option but can not cancel it. 3 weeks ago I could choose cancel! I must say the connection is bad just flew it today with OTG cable still in fcc mode and with 60, 85 and 130 meters it lost connection. I had to get it back because of an disturbing error: Ultrasonic sensor error. If you get this error your drone can drop dead on the ground! Really bad of DJI the first drone had a vibrating gimbal, the second no connection and one motor did not work and the third has the Ultrasonic sensor error!
Oh man, that is really annoying and I am so sorry about your bad experience. In fact the mod works fine with the latest firmware, it is the application that makes things worse. Go back to 4.1.8 and it will all be fine :)
Hello thank you for the tip. I had an older version of the software, updated and tested now outside the city. Maximum distance with OTG cable 750 meter. There are a lot of telephone transmission towers there so they interfere. I am very happy with this distance.
I can't confirm, as I have never used iOS devices for extended periods of time. And knowing it is not easy to install modded apps on iOS, I doubt it will work. Better find someone with an android phone and borrow it for a while :-)
Hi Tec4all thanks for a great indepth video I have done the mod and it works great my spark flys alot further now and works great with latest firnare v4.3.8. and otg cable ,deleted the mod and installed the original go4 app and that works great now. Thanks again.
I tested the new firmware today and it was still running in FCC mode every time. Then updated the DJI Go 4 app and it happened as you described. So - stay at the older version. 4.1.8 works fine here :-)
Bogdan B maybe you have to turn on the option "unknown resources" at your phone. So other unknown apps could be installed on your phone (not only the official apps in the google play store)
I tried this on different android phone(s) under different email/passwords. The I got to the 'about' menu but was unable to change the SN. This option wasn't available as tapping it didn't do anything.
That's why you cannot change the setting. It has to be the modified app, which you can download from the link in the description of the video. The stock app doesn't support such a feature.
tech4all.. "IMPORTANT: The latest DJI SPark firmware works fine with this mod. What doesn't work fine with it are the latest DJI go 4 app versions. 4.1.16 is reverting to EC ode automatically. 4.1.8 works fine though. You may download it here: bit.ly/2AjUTm0" I downloaded the link above and install, still could not change the SN, tapping on did not do anything.. pls help.
I've always used the 4.1.8 version (linked in the description). There seems to be a well working TSS version of the app circulating in some facebook groups, I haven't tested it yet however.
When I open the 4.1.8 app it says "Failed to get resource file. Please check your network connections and retry." But chrome/instagram/youtube, etc work. In shot, I can't even get to the login part.
Your video is the easiest video to follow, im gonna test it out today ....im in Argentina but live in London so this is very good infor mation you got a new sub.
I am afraid there is currently no modified iOS app, at least I am not aware of one. A very useful place to switch to FCC may be here: facebook.com/groups/TheSparkSide/
Haven't tried yet. I saw in the forums it has some frequency behavior changes, but tat shouldn't make a difference, I expect it to work fine. Maybe you can try and let us know :)?
I've tried it. I got 11 channels for 2.4G. Though the maximum distance I got now is 490m, but it is already doubled of what I got before this trick. Thanks a lot.
You can easily verify. In FCC mode you will see 11 2.4g bands. In CE mode they are 13. I believe the latest firmware update has changed that, so if you are on the latest firmware, that may not help. Option two - as soon as you open the original DJI GO 4 app, you will see a prompt that your wifi settings have changed and it asks you to hit "OK" and fix that. It more or less tells you "I am in FCC mode, now I will have to switch in CE mode because I detect you are in that region". And you press "cancel". Every time that message appears, you know that you are in FCC mode. Also, you can say by the range :D The difference is obvious. Quite obvious!
Mmmh somthing weired happened : since yesterday my spark switched back to ce mode automatically whiteout pop up... I can’t use my iPhone for fcc anymorr.....
Tech4All the thing is, idk wtf happening but each time it switch back to ce mod automatically just when I unplug the otg cable from the android phone, then restart the drone and tje controller, it change to ce mode each time and I have to re plug it to the android device with the fake gps each time coz it don’t keep fcc mode when I turn off the drone and the remote.... this is really weired it started to do this like 2days ago
Hi Did3d - although it a kind of hurts me saying that - right now this combination of devices is out of my budget reach. You are looking for a way to switch it into FCC mode?
I am not quite sure how that one works. But ... let's try that: If you have Android device, enable developer options, install fake GPS, enable MOC locations in developer options and choose the Fake GPS app, point to the USA and try to connect to the DJI gear. Usually this is a universal cure for switching to FCC.
No, they don't. But that doesn't make them that bad. Overall Occusync is not that different. Essentially it is a modified transmission protocol that skips error correction and checking which makes it faster and more stable. But of course there is a difference and big distances it is easy to feel the difference. I got my Air yesterday and as soon as weather allows there wil be the first reviews and comments. So far it feels better than the Spark in some ways. But I will miss the option to connect to to the Transmitter via WiFi.
So great it helped! I remember my first encounter with the Spark. Lost range after 80 meters. It felt horrible :-)
In the U.S. FAA (Federal Aviation Admin) also has rules you must follow. Drone must be visually observable and no higher than 400 feet in altitude.
I have seen that in different countries the levels of transmission are even lower :\
And yeah - youtube could be somewhat misleading - most of the popular channels out there are US-based.
It will still be in FCC mode though.
marcel-nine-one-one thanks bro
So i got a Question, does the return to home function work if i'll juse this mod? Because if the drone thinks i'm somewhere else how could she new where the real home point is...🤔
It's not the drone that thinks you're somewhere else - it's the controller. The drones RTH works based on the GPS based inside the drone.
Hi again, I'm needing your assistance if your schedule permits. With DJI's latest firmware update, one of the perks is the panoramic capabilities increasing from 180 to 360 degrees. Bryan
Hey Bryan,
First of all - welcome to this modest community and I am glad to see you posting.
Thank you so much !! rom 50 meters to 1500!! works out very well
Wohoo, that is quite a huge booster! :-) Enjoy!
How to download app
this one i love! btw, have u tested with iPhone yet ?:D
Nope, no Iphone around. I am quite sure that once you switch the mode, any phone will be able to operate it.
I have tested with iPhone and iPad and once the controller FCC mode is enabled with Android phone you can go with apple devices.
Now it's ready thank you a lot.god bless you.
Just hit "cancel" to NOT switch back to EC mode every startup
what is the range under these EU laws then ? I have been getting terrible range with my new spark.
How 2 do the fake gps
Best advice ever. It works after a month of trying other methods!!!
Greetings from Croatia/Hrvatska
hey - tnx 4 the good stuff. does this app goes with the mavic air as well?
It works on Air
Hi can you suggest to dji to built a one off .ACI anti crash parachute to every drones. This would greatly reduced the downspeed to more than 60 upon dropped from the sky.this is the must before every flight just like to have a lifejacket to every sailors. They could just fold the chute on top of the drones in a very small space or compartments.we can use the onboard locators to find the missing drones on earth.tq
Idea is quite cool :-) I've seen somewhere an aftermarket solution for this.
Hi..i cannot installed 4.1.3 v25 it says package corrupted?..can you give me tips on hows?.tq
Check this group and the tutorial posted - facebook.com/groups/TheSparkSide/
Thanks
I doubt this one still.worka...
Hi, nice video ! But i don't see the link of the app in the description! Can we only find it on the facebook group ? Have an good day
I have removed the app, because it is too old version. Best way to get is the facebook group.
Hi Nice video I have a questing being a new drone user .. I am buying a refurb drone spark with FCC mode activated..My question is will the return home work and I won't lose the drone ??
thanks
Sure - the return to home feature is based on the GPS inside the drone.
I tried this.its good.but when I use the original djigo4 app not asking about the region
Hi Aju - if the FCC mode is there, the original dji go will only ask to switch WiFi settings and you have to select "cancel" every time.
The link does not get me to the app i am a memer in that group and i cant fintd the app where is it?
Looks like this hack no longer works...
Looks great. Do you know if it still works with 4.3.25 - October 2019?
Haven't tried that version - generally I tend to avoid updating 😊
It worked thanks
once you have done the fcc mod do you still have the flight restrictions im still limited to 150 in height because i live within a flight path of an airport
The flight restrictions are usually implied by the No-FLying-Zone maps - so most likely this limitation will remain. FCC mode is about the transmission power of the remote.
Tech4All thanks for replying the mod was easy to do now for the test
Hello man, I have DJI Spark. I really want to try this modded app, is this working with the latest firmware? and can it detect your real GPS location which can be used for return home?
Hi Paul - better go to facebook and check the group "TheSparkSide"
@@TechMishka alright. Thanks alot!
@paul did you come right with this? I want to fcc my spark too?
Shit man, i was on headphones adn the voice yelling "bad range" scared me :P
Alien voices! Surprise! :D
Game changer this video!
It works fine according to many iPhone users here.
tech4all I’m going to vibe it a go tomorrow, I’ll let you know how I get on :)
Great Video. Will it work also for the Mavic Air?
Not this way. I will post the Mavic Air FCC tutorial in the next few days, and there is an easier way.
At that time (my battery was drown to 60 %) I make a flight of 660 meters without connection errors :D
I let it come back to me by myself ;)
The range is wonderful, but how is the battery life? Do you have enough battery to get back when your 2K ?
Yes, for 2K it is fine (you have to be in sport mode), Going further than 2.5-3 is risky though. :-)
Hey, is this work for other dji drones like inspire1, phantom4's, matrice 200 and 600 ???
Yes, it works for most of the DJI drones, especially those which have CE and FCC specs.
This video here is easier to follow and requires no modded apps: th-cam.com/video/0gySNYwWhtc/w-d-xo.html
Hi, in Israel we allowed only 2.4 and not 5.8. The range can be more than the CE regulation. Do you know how can I set the app on FCC but only 2.4?
Sure - just go to FCC mode and select your preferred 2.4ghz channel. The idea is not to use "Auto" but to select a preferred channel. And that's it :-)
@techforall When I run on 4.1.8 after the mode changed to FCC, can I then install 4.1.15 and the settings will still be in FCC mode?
Yes, settings will be still in FCC mode. You should of course always select "cancel" after you are in FCC mode and when you are prompted for switching Wifi settings.
Thanks for the video and your super easy instructions. I just subscribed, hope you make more helpful Spark videos! :D
Btw. the automatic subtitles think you are speaking Dutch lol
Awesone, thanks mate!
I know Dutch enough to get in trouble :D Hehe; Bulgarian is my native language.
Hey where can I download the oldest dji go 4 app?
If I have purchased Spark in US is the FCC mode turned on by default or do I have to do this operation? @dronevalley
No, you do not! :-) Just hit "cancel" every time when you are asked about switchinf wifi settings. In fact it almost always comes in FCC mode or in China mode (which basically is having the same transmission power).
tech4all thanks a lot!
Hi, great video man! Can i ask you? This mod work on Litchi app too please? Thank you.
Better check the facebook group called "TheSparkSide"
I have requested for the Facebook group. Still waiting for the approval.
Thanks again for the great work!
hi im using DJI GO 4 apps 4.2.12 ..its is work for the modded apps?location is middel east...thanks
or can i downgrade it in 4.1.8 apps?
I haven't tried with the 4.2.12 but there is no reason not to work. I am not a fan of updating apps too often but had to recently use the latest DJI Go 4 and it worked fine.
Latest versions are fine, so go ahead and update if you like :-)
Hey! What’s my best option if I want to switch to fcc mode and using iOS? In Ireland btw! Thanks
(I only used Android for applying the hack, HUAWEI Y6)
When I press "go fly", on my Iphone I get the question of connecting to the new wifi network, then I press cancel.
I have tested with the IOS 4.1.15 Iphone-app with the OTG cable as well as the wifi connection and both works perfect.
With wifi I get 11 channels 2.4ghz as well as 5 channels 5.8ghz which confirms that the hack works.
I have also tested with the OTG cable and then the app is locked to 2.4ghz only, which is normal, (2,4ghz is better for longer flights)
In general, I'm better connected to the satellites as well as the overall connection to the drone.
I will try a longer flight tomorrow, I will get back with the result.
I have the latest firmware both in my Spark and remote, batteries.
Thanx again :-)
Björn Jonsson
Hi Bjorn
Thanks for the update.
Björn Jonsson
Hi Bjorn
Thanks for your prompt response.
And wish you to have awesome flight today :-)
P.S I have also noticed the better coverage at 2.4. Interestingly that made a bigger difference when I was still using CE mode with OTG. And when FCC was enabled it didn't really make any difference.
Björn Jonsson
Hi Bjorn
It also works here in Denmark with the 4.20 :-)
Thanks
On Play store there is two versions of APP, so which one u used for Phone 2_?
In Play store you have the DJI GO (for older models) and DJI Go 4 - used for the Spark.
Fantastic, it works perfect here in Denmark
so it's a gps spoofer?
When i order mine, could i just select that i'm in the US or china or smth, or would i rly need to spoof the gps?
Yes - a GPS spoofer but only for the transmitter. You just tell the transmitter to behave as it is in the USA. the rest is the same.
Worked great ...Thank you for this video
its only work for me when i disable the phone communicasion (flight mode) and use the fake gps mode... and i think i got the 4.2 dji go
Thanks for the note Gal Gold. Which smartphone do you use?
Hello +tech4all ! Does that void your warranty? (dji care refresh)
No, not at all. It is not a modification of the firmware or something. To be on the safe side, make sure to use the original dji go4 app once you are in fcc mode.
Thank you - work´s absolutly fine with iOS and version 4.1.18!
Wow, awesome, thanks for the feedback.
One queston though: I Know it works the first time. But does it stay in FCC after closing the app and opening again?
tech4all Yes, I tried it multiple times.
Peter G perfekt mein spark kommt auch am Freitag
Sounds like you were busy on black friday :)?
Ich hab ein elektrishes Bike bestellt, muss heute da sein :D
tech4all yes exactly :) have fun with the bike.
Nice one dude it works !
Very glad it does! :-) Happy flying!
Wenn ich die App öffne nimmt er nicht jedes beliebige Passwort an nur meins und dann kann ich nicht auf about und die erweiterten Einstellungen. Hilfe
Hallo Louis - bitte schai hier mal: facebook.com/groups/TheSparkSide/
Easyer way...Android device > Developer mode > FakeGPS from PlayStore > select a GPS point on the US > Open official DjiGo4 app and wait for the message about region chane.... Done you're in FCC mode!Open DjiGo4 again on iOS or Android and say NO on message to change back to CE mode
Thank you! Indeed, that works quite well too. More or less the same as you say has been done here: th-cam.com/video/yoeodX3vTLk/w-d-xo.html
hi please help me change to FCC mode for my Phantom 4 pro
Hi Azry - very likely this will work, yes. If it doesn't, it wouldn't harm.
Why do you want to apply this on the Phantom? It should have the perfect range, no matter where you fly.
is it possible to get this app without facebook ?
I am afraid it no longer works
Hi! the app on the link doesnt work... did anyone succeed to install it lately?? thx
Could be that your android API version is different. Go to apkmirror.com and get the corresponding version - that should run fine.
Does the return to home function work if the drone thinks that i am in the us
Yes, it works fine. It is based on the GPS inside the drone.
@@TechMishka Thanks
Does this work if my main version of the app is 4.1.18 or do i have to keep the main version 4.1.15? Also I can't seem to install the app from the link u posted my phone won't recognise it as an apk
It will work with main version of 4.1.18 too :-)
tech4all awesome thanks!! But do you have a download link for the APK that works when I try install the one you linked the 1st link doesn't work and the second one won't open :/
Ruri Chester u need to delete the original one doing this
How long does it takes for community to aprove your request?
Usually should be less than a day.
Did anyone tried this app? I am really annoyed about this limitations. I am getting bad video reception after 50 meters :(
I am using the app since the very beginning, inspired by a two Greek guys that got almost 4km range (that was above water :-) ).
So yeah - it totally works, as long as you follow the steps. And make sure to NOT enter your real credentials on the modded app.
tech4all thank u. I might try it. OTG is not helping at all.
NikMan yeah, it is not that effective. Helps a bit, bit the real difference is when you switch to fcc mode. :)
I have a question:
I already tried this but everytime after changing to FCC when i reinstalled the stock app, it change back to EC by itself !!! i dont even get asked. DO you know if DJI fixed it in the latest version so that we cant use the stock app in FCC anymore ? i did a fly with the moddeed app and i reached 2 km.... so i am sure i was in FCC before reinstalling the stock app
Ohh and nice Vid btw ;)
Lukas Martin , looks like it. I have updated the description with the info that 4.1.8 works better. I have the same symptoms as you do with the latest.
tech4all so If i Update to 4.1.8 it should Work ? And is the Link in Your description an offical App which gets Updated ?
Can you keep us posted if you noticed any issues with the app or does it work as normal
Sure thing!
I actually use this mod ever since I got Spark. And please note - I use the original DJI Go4, the modded app is just used for switching to US location and nothing more. I fly only with the original DJI App.
I'm facing loss of gps and thr drone going into atti mode all the time then I hit RTH and thr drone comes back. Is the mod going to fix this issue
I don't think so. Losing GPS signal may be caused by many things.
I'd recommend making sure you have the latest firmware. If that continues - get in touch with DJI support.
yes firmware is upgarded - ive logged a support ticket with dji support - lets see
Fingers crossed! I hope there will be a happy end sooner rather than later.
So the group is abondoned or what I am not sure.

Hello, IAM from Portugal. With the new update of firmware of spark this mod app will do the job ? It will be ok ?
Hi Nuni,
I cannot confirm yet, as I am still using the September firmware. Will try that in the next weekend.
tech4all thank you very much.
Today I've tried the new firmware and the mod works fine.
If you use the latest app (android is 4.1.16) the mod won't work. You may use 4.1.8 instead, I will put a link to it in the description.
Thank you very much
Hello, when installing mod say the file is corrupt. Any idea ?
Would ordering the Spark from US Amazon make a difference?
boyvale no
Thank you so much!!!
Is this still working? Im in nz and my range is very short
it is still working, yeah.
Dude I downloaded it and had to use my account cuz it didn't accept anything else... now I tried to change these that u did on about tab but it won't let me change anything... help
Sure - try the newer version over here - facebook.com/groups/TheSparkSide/
THis is an awesome SPark community and it is worth checking their app.
Apks in links doesn't work. Warning says application corrupted. Please help.
Hi Tomasz, very likely the download was interrupted. Just go to apkmirror.com and grab it from there.
tech4all I've tried on two phones. I'll try once again from your links. I can't find it on apkmirror. I can't even finde them on any forums. Links removed everywhere. I think DJI try to protect their work.
I just want to have better transmission in near range.
Here is direct link to apkmirror:
www.apkmirror.com/apk/dji-technology-co-ltd/dji-go/dji-go-3-1-8-release/ Give it a try. There are two versions - depending on which version of android you are running. You can try both.
Hello buddy. Will that also work on a Phantom 3 with lightbridge? I am in UK but would like to get my P3P into FCC.
Do you have an OTG cable connected when you try to do that?
tech4all no just with the wifi.
I have an samsung galaxy s7.
tech4all Should i use the otg kabel?
That used to be the most reliable way to operate at a frequency of your choice. Some of the last firmwares have started to mix them during flight, and I haven't tested with the latest firmware. But yeah - trying via the OTG is always a good idea.
tech4all At the begining when i open up the 4.1.8 Version if i want to updare the No-flyzone Database. I always press the"later" button. Should i maybe update that?
Thaanks for your help?
wait im already in the usa so am i good? am i already on fcc or what
Yup.
Can you please link the app without a Facebook group?
The app belongs to the owners of that group, and if I do, it will be a violation with the developer's request.
Does the return home function still work?
Yes, it does. It is bound to the GPS inside the drone itself, and moving to different mode has no impact o the RTH function.
Still working. DJI GO 4 version 4.3
Hey, awesome that you confirm that! Thanks a lot :=) And Happy flying!
@@TechMishka is it legal at all? I do not think so ... or will you be punished ???
@@hallomusterman1439 Depends on how you use that and where. I have never ever had issues. These regulations are brought mostly to ensure less impact on your health caused by the transmitted signal.
nice love it
Thanks!
750 meters with CE mode is quite good! Sounds like an improvement has been done :-) My OTG record with ce was around 640 meters.
Hi, thank you for you trick,it’s work for IOS to?? Thank you!
For me this works the first time but then i power off the drone and controller and it resets and doesnt work again. Any suggestions??
Do you get the prompt about switching the wlan settings at the beginning? If so - do you hit "ok" or "cancel"?
Also, which firmware are you using?
Yea defiantly pressed cancel, have tried it a few times. Im on the latest firmware
Hmm, sounds like I'll have to update and try it over here.
I tested the new firmware today and it was still running in FCC mode every time. Then updated the DJI Go 4 app and it happened as you described. So - stay at the older version. 4.1.8 works fine here :-)
The modified apk cannot be installed on a Samsung S7. It seems to be corrupted... tried it today 20.11
Bogdan B maybe you have to turn on the option "unknown resources" at your phone. So other unknown apps could be installed on your phone (not only the official apps in the google play store)
Would this work on Mavic pro plat?
Yes, of course. But isn't Mavic Pro's range good enough without mods?
I tried this on different android phone(s) under different email/passwords. The I got to the 'about' menu but was unable to change the SN. This option wasn't available as tapping it didn't do anything.
Quentin, which version of the app did you try for changing the settings? was it the modified apk, or the one from play store?
The latest one from the play store.
tech4all the only app which is available for download from the playstore.
You may download it here:
bit.ly/2AjUTm0"
I downloaded the link above and install, still could not change the SN, tapping on did not do anything.. pls help.
so which is the right link for the app at the moment?
I've always used the 4.1.8 version (linked in the description). There seems to be a well working TSS version of the app circulating in some facebook groups, I haven't tested it yet however.
tech4all is it dropbox?
tech4all or simitech
Hey , the download link takes me to a facebook group
Yes, this is your best shot to find a good new version of the app.
Will I loose my warranty if I use this method?
No, not at all. It is not patching anything :-)
Thank you so much, AR 23.
You mention London... I've always wondered - do you have a lot of restrictions for flying there? Are the authorities strict?
There are alot of restrictions.... One more question is my RC is not charging now any ideas
Where to find the modded ios app? Thanks
I am afraid there is currently no modified iOS app, at least I am not aware of one.
A very useful place to switch to FCC may be here: facebook.com/groups/TheSparkSide/
Does that also work with the FW 701?
Haven't tried yet. I saw in the forums it has some frequency behavior changes, but tat shouldn't make a difference, I expect it to work fine.
Maybe you can try and let us know :)?
Does OTG work when using the FCC mod?
yeah, no restrictions on that :) Nothing changes except the range.
And of course, with otg it is even better. FCC wifi is so good, that now I barely use otg.
tech4all great, thanks
Anyone use it? I use my spark today and this not work anymore 😔😔😔
Check the facebook group TheSpark Side.
Lovely 😊
Very awesome my brother, great quad bro
Have you tried this modded apk with the latest firmware and DJI go 4 ver. 4.1.15?
No, not yet, but I am quite sure that it works :-)
I've tried it. I got 11 channels for 2.4G. Though the maximum distance I got now is 490m, but it is already doubled of what I got before this trick. Thanks a lot.
How can I tell it's worked without flying ? It looks the same. Also does it still work with the OTF cable ?
It may eventually happen. Switch back to FCC mode and you will be fine :-)
Interesting... Did you update the app? Maybe you can try using an older version.
Tech4All I have v 4.3.3 currently so maybe the application, u think ?
You may try something a little older, won't hurt.
gona try it at lunch break
Hi, nice video you helped me a lot! one question: which version of the app do you use right now?
Hi Bryan L, right now I am using 4.2.6. Works alright.
Is this better than Super Patcher 2.0?
I don't think so.
make the same video with ocusync air and dji goggles re please thanks
Hi Did3d - although it a kind of hurts me saying that - right now this combination of devices is out of my budget reach.
You are looking for a way to switch it into FCC mode?
yes
I am not quite sure how that one works. But ... let's try that:
If you have Android device, enable developer options, install fake GPS, enable MOC locations in developer options and choose the Fake GPS app, point to the USA and try to connect to the DJI gear.
Usually this is a universal cure for switching to FCC.
Airs dont have occusync unfortunately
No, they don't. But that doesn't make them that bad.
Overall Occusync is not that different. Essentially it is a modified transmission protocol that skips error correction and checking which makes it faster and more stable. But of course there is a difference and big distances it is easy to feel the difference.
I got my Air yesterday and as soon as weather allows there wil be the first reviews and comments. So far it feels better than the Spark in some ways. But I will miss the option to connect to to the Transmitter via WiFi.
