54:37 I adore that bit of character growth from Sonic. He chuckles like he's about to crack a joke but instantly controls himself and focuses on the bigger picture.
I love how a few things come full circle:
1. Sonic and his friends go back to flying overseas, just as they were doing at the very beginning.
2. The first time around, Sage sacrificed herself in order to save everyone from The End, and Dr. Eggman can only feel broken and alone as the meteor shower rained. But after retrieving Sage and Sonic having deal the final blow to The End, both her and Eggman watched the meteor shower together, as the father and daughter should. (I know these may be alternative endings, but gameplay-wise, I still think it works).
I really appreciate this game and the people behind it for bringing amazing development to all the characters and yet still staying true to them. I'm hoping for this game to be long remembered for what it is.

so, it's basically which version of the finale people will like more. Eggman does recreate Sage at the end of the main story anyways, so it's not like they changed how the story ends all that much

She’s a memorable one! I love that now there’s the option to save her body without being sacrificed! Albeit much more challenging but more rewarding and heartfelt!

I love this version of the ending because sage got to live the super sonic power up and the others helping him I do like both endings though but this whole updates story put water in my eyes and make me love the game even more:)

Would be cool if Sage returns as a minor antagonist in the future. Considering all of Sonic's friends come to see him as a friendly rival of sorts, that dynamic could easily be applied to her as well, except that she's clearly still on board with Eggman's world domination even after seemingly admiring Sonic.
Potential example:
Eggman: Sage, stop him!
Sage: Understood, Father.
(Eggman flees)
Sage: Hello again, Sonic. I am intrigued as to how your abilities have improved since last time.
Sonic: Bring it on!
(After the battle, in which Sage would probably control some kind of Frontiers-inspired Ancient enemy)
Sage: Impressive. Your skills truly have improved; I look forward to our next meeting.
Basically, Sonic Team has the chance to easily develop Sage's character over the course of the next few games. She wouldn't fully take centre stage, but she'd still have enough screen time to show her growth. Hopefully, she'll develop more of a visible personality (it's there in Frontiers but clearly suspressed) as she interacts with people more. A more competitive Sage who takes on Sonic to improve her own skills would be pretty cool imo
I had deja vu to the Sonic X Series 3 finale with Super Sonic putting all of his energy into a single cannon shot against a planet sized threat.

I thought eggman brought back Sags at the end of the game, somewhat. You know that cliff hanger at the end of the base game.
He did, but, given how the Egg Memos talk about how Sage evolved after being in contact with the ancients technology, the version Eggman saves at the end likely isn’t as developed (or have the cool cyber avatar) as the version of Sage in the new ending.
Super sonic getting red eyes continually juat keep reminding me of fleetway sonic. XD

I prefer the ending in this version of Frontiers than the original Sage is my favorite new character and it was so nice to see her and Eggman together as father and daughter also loved Sonic’s new Super Form and the references from Sonic X too 👍❤️🥲

I'm a little confused because he said "I'm getting them back this time" but in the original ending we know he does. but Eggman does not question what sonic just said. so are both endings cannon at the same time or does sonic enter the portal when he is cured of his corruption, but his friends are not back yet like in the original ending. I Understand that they did not want to cut out the original ending because they did not want to get rid of content. But i think they should have made it more clear how these stories are connected.
I know this is a DLC extra chapter and all, but the ones that piloted the Titans, they still reminded me of Chaos.
I think it was explained that the Ancients are the Chao and a chao mutated into chaos by the master emerald

About the deity that Sage was referring to.... Can we just assume that the deity that the Ancients worshiped was indeed Chaos? Because there's quite a few signs pointing at them and the God of Destruction having a serious connection.
All the Ancients mutated into Chao due to being near the Master Emerald for a long time. And Chaos is the Ancient One who was able to mutate back. That's why he protects his people, who are now Chao.

Probably this one. Both could be canon, but if Sage appears again (which is likely) it means the new ending is canon
Don't take this seriously: you know The End could've just slammed full speed into the earth unless it knows that super-sonic could have the strength to push it away or slamming into the earth would also destroy it.
@@matti.8465actually regardless of the ending Sage returns, but one is her consciousness and the other is her physical form attached. In a later game if she returns it could still validate both endings because Eggman could just create a new body for her.

But ahhhh makes sense. Especially since the ending cutscene plays out like in the original ending. I guess they realize people were a bit disappointed with the space shooter style final boss the original had. I mean, this is much more climatic.

At the start of Ouranos a ring portal appears at the start and you can jump through it to enter Another Story, which is just this. The original ending in all its shame is still there though. So yeah, just an alternate path.
