I used to broadcast grass seed with a quad bike straight onto maize stubble and then roll it in, always had a really heavy first cut of silage, then plough and plant maize again. Did that every year got two crops off the land every year, it worked very well.

Fun fact, grass seed only needs 2mm of soil covering to germinate and grow.

One thing your video showed is just how far you have to travel between fields, some people might not realise that and think that the land you work is close to the farm. As a matter of interest just how far is your furthest field?
