I recommend getting one of those mascara brushes at like Sephora or MAC, I grab some of those all the time but you can wash off the mascara of an old mascara brush and can comb through your lashes with that.
+zenatella you can also curl your lashes that can help them to not clump and plastic mascara spolies (ikd how to spell) mostely don't give a clumpy effect:)

i run my finger over my eyelashes after then wash it off my hand :)

Leave it in hot water before applying it for like 5-10 minutes
