One of the best voices of all time
Thats It's so trueeee
Im 25 and i listen to Eric Tagg in 2024. Its unacceptable that he was not more famous, My favorite voice in the earth, so angelical. Love Eric ❤
God bless you and your family always Mr. Tagg, a fortress and an inspiration one of my Blue Prints❤
We love You, Eric Tagg.
May God bless You 🙏🙏🙏
Best wishes from Israel ❤️
What an underrated jazz vocalist. This guy's a legend just like Michael Franks the leader of the quiet storm movement!!!!
Tagg & Franks - what a perfect comparison!
This guy was bad! Rit was an early 80s classic
I love ERIC TAGG! Love his voice and his songs are so smooth. Gives me smooth R&B vibes.
Eric Tagg is SO GOOD!!!!!
Eric Tagg…… what a monster talent with an absolute beautiful soulful voice. This guy should have been ridding on top of the charts.
Eric Tagg is one of my favorite vocalists of all time. He's one of a kind... very intricate and gifted. God bless you sir
Eric had some serious soul and smoothness on his voice. Always loved his songs. Great vocal abilities. Always felt some Stevie Wonder influence. Bill Lebounty has similar tone but Eric is the best
His true Faith, in Jesus Christ. Thats the moral of the story I got. Amen.
What an inspiration this guy was to me growing Up........One of the best vocalists and tones of voice around xx
I've really enjoyed this interview! He not only has a fantastic voice, but he's incredibly humble and down to Earth!
Eric Thanks for responding to me on facebook, I did say your voice sounded like Stevie Wonder. I love Rit 1 and 2 awesome vocals.
His work with Lee Ritenour and his own Dreamwalkin album are some of my all-time favourites. He is definitely one of the best male vocalists, up there with Richard Page, Michael Franks, Al Jarreau. I didn't know he played bass. I'll need to dig out my vinyl Rit I and read the liner notes and see which tracks he played bass on. The song he sings in Portuguese on his Dreamwalkin album is absolutely beautiful. I hope he makes a good living from his talent, he deserves many riches, though I suspect his talent and belief in God is all he needs. Fantastic interview.
Through My Eyes is his best work xx
Love him. His work on Painted Lady is amazing
Great Interview...
I was introduced Eric Tagg thru Rit 1(1981) and Rit 2(1982) in 2002...by crate digging
I love his vocals on'No sympathy and Dreamwalking
He had a Kenny Loggins and Daryl Hallish blue eyed soul vocals type of feel to me..
Altho i had heard Is it you? on the radio back in 1998
It was listening to those albums that i felt there had to be more out there of him and I was eager to find it
So eight years later on youtube .. I discovered he made a solo album in "1982 "Dreamwalkin"
Love the track "Marzipan"..which led to me discovering his 1977 album"Rendezvous"
I love the tracks "Living off the love and Gottta be loving you which segues into Rendezvous..
All the ingredients were there...The L.A. music machine David Foster,Jay Graydon,Bill Champlain,Toto...the who's whos of musicians in L.A. that were playing on those Pop/Soul albums....That Quincy used to build a Hitmaking powerhouse machine...
Eric just had a different calling...It was just apart of God's plan....
Check his stuff out.....beautiful smooth music...
Perfect blend of Soft Rock/Pop/Soul
A phenomenal singer and songwriter. Dreamwalkin' is an exceptional album, one of my favorites. Greetings from Greece Mr. Tagg, thank you for this interview!
Such a great talent!
Great artist , Singer/songwriter and musician. Some of his songs are my faves. He did a big mistake not living in L A. He was so talented and lost many chances
Eric you're the best. So much soul and so much talent.
Great great musician. I played the mess out of 'Is it You', and 'Mr. Briefcase' when I was a DJ back in the early 80's on WESU-FM
We Love Eric here in Big D.
AINT IT FUN BEING FROM TEXAS!
Wow... what a great interview and opportunity to learn where Eric has been all this years!! Best part of the interview is hearing his Heart and Love for the Lord (Amen my brother!!) Love to see Eric connect with Tommy Walker for a project. Could be some amazing worship songs that come out of that!!
I've had the pleasure of chatting with him(Eric). He is Really cool ! Top 3 Timeless albums of the 80's...THRILLER, PURPLE RAIN,and DREAM WALKIN'(BY ERIC TAGG).
At last, an interview of you my friend. You cannot imagine how much I'm happy for you. Big hugs to you and Linda from me, Henri and Nathalie.
So Happy to hear him speak on it! Still have him in heavy rotation!
Saw Al Jarreau many times and yes, Lee Ritenour and Eric Tagg were the opening act that I saw in Los Angeles back in the 80s. Those were the good old days… such great music made back then! God bless Eric and I just love his voice!
aww i can’t believe eric tagg made an interview i love his music so much
there is a timber to his voice. - very compelling
The voice of yacht rock. The GOAT
Eric is THE MOST UNDERRATED MUSICIAN AND SONGWRITER, AS WELL AS A VOCALIST EVER!!! LOVE his humbleness!! This interview was so inspiring. I pray to THE Most High that I can play and write with Eric Tagg!!!
Mr Tagg you are ONE OF A KIND. Your imprint in music is everlasting. Thank you for such an insightful interview~Los Angeles 😎🌴👍🏿
I'm 65, from Portugal. Ever since I bought that Lee Ritenour vinyl album (Rit), many years ago, I've been an Eric Tagg fan, although I haven't got any of his own albuns unfortunately. I loved this interview. I even find my life story is quite similar to Eric's (obviously in another level) because I was also a musician (singer, guitar & bass), played many night clubs in the 80s and 90s but I never quit my daytime job. Lucky me! Another thing: like Eric I am a IVAN LINS freaking fan, I've got all his records and seen him live about 10 times in different occasions, since 1982. Love you Eric Tagg, God bless you!
We love your music. Hopefully you’ll get the traction here in the US that you deserve.
Time for a Miracle was released in the U.S. I have it. Eric is one of my favorite singers. I wish he'd do more music with Bill and/or Lee in the RIT style of the early 80s.
Eric Tagg and Stevie Wonder, same vibes 😍👌
Eric Tagg is the truth and very talented cat
He knows the truth, wow...
It's been so so hard to get noticed in the united states, what I've discovered is that other countries treat music the way we used to back in the 60's. There was a time in the united states when we used have audiences that listened to the music.
Mr Briefcase did a deep impression on me ;-)
For me, You sing with Your heart In combination with chords and melodies. It moves me. Still fascinating after all the years.
A greath person one Day i writed a mail to him AND response me.. I am a latín fan from Chile southamerica
One of the best! Love Eric.
What a great interview
Love it eric tagg.
Oh man you found Eric tagg!!!
Excellent interview. So happy to hear Eric mention Buster Brown. That band should have gone national. Kelly McNulty and one of my favorite drummers Mike Collier. This was great !!!! too bad Eric didn't get fame and fortune that he deserved. I hope Susan Tagg is also well!!!!

NOBODY sang Is it You better than Eric Tagg, his voice was incredible.
Many have tried but they just cant touch the magic on that tune
God bless you brother eric
Though the world could offer you more, you chose to be with the Lord. You knew at a young age that one cant serve 2 masters.
He still looks good for his age. I hope I get to meet him someday.🙏🙏
I ho-e he knows that I listen to him every damn day!
what a piece of gold. Thank you so much for this!!
Thank U Funk Chronicles for this interview!!!!

A Gifted Music Artist...and that voice! I'm so happy to see his Decisions to keep away from L.A....are bc he Knows the Evil that Lives in L.A. and Hollywood...and chose YaH's/Gods way!
YaH Bless you Eric Taft!
👍😊🎶💞🙏
I met Eric when I lived in Dallas and he was playing one night at a place on Greenville Avenue. We talked about Bill Champlain in between sets and about the local music scene. Always enjoyed his writing and voice. I had always thought he would have been good as a member of Chicago.
Popscicle Toes? Saw him there many times.Great shows!
Back then Eric also did the intro theme on the 10:00 news.
Eric Tagg one of The Greatest Soul Vocalist O All Time, easily compared to the likes of Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins
And Stevie Wonder 😍
Appreciate the interview on the genius of Eric Tagg, he is a Hall of Fame worthy vocalist and songwriter who did not get his just due......the man was a Superstar I saw him live many times....check out this playlist of 30 of his top tunes......th-cam.com/video/kmPTKWotZDE/w-d-xo.html
