It’s not testosterone that mediates beard growth but DHT downstream of testosterone. So you absolutely can be high testosterone with no beard and low testosterone with a beard. That being said, most of the time higher t also equals higher dht. Also having a thick beard when young will be strongly associated with going bald early because Dht also makes you bald.
