@yourewrongfr and then I could argue by what you mean by "chemicals." We're made of chemicals. Chemical is not a bad word. You probably mean pesticides but even organic farms use pesticides, just ones they deem to be less harmful. "Organic" is also a specific definition and the list of acceptable organic substances has synthetic materials listed, just by some reason or another they are still considered organic. The problem with vegan gains argument is that it is wholly based on animals have human rights, to give animals human rights would diminish human rights overall.
calling meat eating a holocaust and saying people lives are worthless because they eat meat is crazy to me. why should we have to respect his point of view when he devalues us for ours? that’s like saying vegans are worthless because they don’t value the plants they’re eating since scientists are trying to prove they have feelings and stepping on grass is cruel because it’s a living organism. animals can have a brain, feeling, and thinking, but there’s always good alternatives like buying from privately owned farms instead of mass produced products in supermarkets, which is something already becoming encouraged. it’s not our fault that farmers overprice their products.

I despise Vegan Gains and his views, but I will say that you're missing what the point of his argument would be. He makes the claim that one cannot distinguish precisely what separates a human consciousness from an animal one, so our default in this society should be to not eat them. He is right that most people just assume a difference without being able to logically label one.
Fry guys take makes so much sense. Most people pursue the most humane way to consume necessary meat for survival. This girl chose the MOST abusive and torturous way to consume the octopus for entertainment.
@yourwife1111 exactly. What Tom is missing is that this is all on top of the normal torture from factory farming these poor animals go through. What she did is worse end of story. You can say what everyone else does is still bad, sure. But calling her out isn't hypocritical because I don't bring my food home alive and put it on the grill alive.
Any time someone says farms are horrible, then it just shows they didn't grow up in small towns or rural areas. I know dozens of farmers and every single animal they have is treated better than the average human and is put down quickly. Now I understand that in a perfect world, we shouldn't need to eat meat. However, the infrastructure and supply chain needed to make that happen doesn't exist. Vegans need to be targetting the government for having a horrible system that's hard to survive in, let alone survive economically as a vegan.
@yourewrongfr It is better than torture it's entire life, which is 90% of the argument coming from Tom. Everyone is a hypocrite because animals are tortured at farms. Sorry it's not accurate for a lot of farms. It sucks to have to kill an animal, but the intent is to cause the least amount of harm possible. If you have a magical solution to suddenly, affordably, feed everyone, a proper diet, without destroying ecosystems for farm land, causing more harm from said farms to our planet, that your average person can actually participate in then I'm all ears. My personal argument on why we aren't hypocrites about eating meat is because Vagan Gains stance is that anyone who eats meat is supporting torture when this just isn't true. I try to get all my meat from local butchers and farms where I can go see and meet the animals to ensure that they are happy and healthy and I hope I can raise some chickens one day when I have some land and money. But despite the fact I'm against factory farming and any form of torture when it comes to animals, Vegan Gains still would wish harm against me. The fact is that there's a difference between torturing and animal to death and and killing it humanly but he openly sees them as one in the same.

I feel like eating something alive is worse because there are humane ways to kill livestock as opposed to ripping its flesh apart while it can still feel pain and eating it alive. Fish just can't express their pain verbally like something we can connect to like a larger animal
The Vegan Gains take was definitely skewed because tom got to meet the guy. Killing and torturing an animal is not on the same level as buying meat from the store, and you aren't a hypocrite for thinking taking glee in extinguishing life is disgusting if you also go home and enjoy a hotdog. Vegan Gains's logic doesn't make sense because its specifically constructed to make non-vegans feel bad, which is why the average person doesn't agree with him. He doesn't think the way he does out of some kind of virtue for animal safety, it's specifically crafted to put down other people. Tom talking about the semantics about whether Moist was a hypocrite because he indirectly causes animals harm is just him buying into that warped philosophy without actually thinking about the situation, which is really sad to see. He goes on about "but you don't apply your logic to anything else because it no longer makes sense" as if you can't apply Vegan Gains's logic to *anything* and have it also not make sense. By this line of thinking Tom agrees with, we're all ecosystem destroying, racist, murdering, political zealots, when in actuality, the entire situation is a lot more dynamic. You are not a hypocrite for eating meat and feeling empathy for dead animals. This take is the most dense thing I've heard from Tom.
Until we can literally photosynthesize sunlight, we will need to consume formerly living creatures to survive. Until we can create matter from nothing, we'll need to disturb the environment and the animals that dwell within it. Until then, let's try to be as humane in our consumption habits as we can, whether that's being a vegan, or treating our food animals as well as possible. It's that fucking simple.

1hr 4 min in. The take is trash. There are regulations for farming live stock and animals for consumption, to kill the animals in the most humane ways possible, instant death. Compared to eating animals ALIVE on a public platform for clicks. They are no where near remotely the same, and thus incomparable and not valid criticisms for Charlies take. Vegan gains is arguing pure semantics and making no attempt to actually focus on what he said. In the vegan discussion: the difference is that the streamer is deciding to personally torture the animal for views rather than the people who buy it don't have the choice to torture the animal. To view it as hypocritical is at best redundant at worse being a bad actor. Imagine during the TH-cam animal torture era, no one reported the videos because "Oh well I eat meat so I'm pretty much compliant to animal torture." Slaughterhouses don't torture for fun, they do it because YOU are waiting at the other side with an open wallet ready to pay for their service. Its supply and demand 101. The Flaws in VeganGains Argument are the followings: 1. VeganGains assumes humans are the same as animals, which dehumanize humans. and it sets a dangerous precedent. Humans have a lot of functions that makes us "human" such as Meta-cognition, high level of understanding and intelligence, as well as different way in which we feel pain, that wasn't yet found (and will prob never be found) in the animal kingdom. So his premise is already shaky and not supported by any academic research to date (11/08/2024) Some people in history, starting with the letter H had the same belief, that animals are better then humans and some humans are less then animals. we know how that turned out... 2. VeganGains claims that Charlie is "worse then sssyoungs" is extremely harmful. it is based on an idea that the result is everything and the way to reach the result is useless, which is a HIGHLY dangerous philosophical idea. Most of our Judicial system is based on the belief that the intent is as important if not more then the act itself. But VeganGain believe that the ACT itself is more important then the intent. for example, if we take two M-cases, One in which the person planned it and orchestrated it, and tortured the victim in question, and one in which the person acted in self defense with no meaning of actually harming the animal. If we go by VeganGains philosophy, those two people would be charged the same. however, by our modern understanding, we understand they should not be judged the same. 3. VeganGains actually harms other animals in order to save others- he is a hypocrite. If we go by his logic we will reach a conclusion that some animals and humans deserve to live (the vegan ones) and some don't (the omnivores to carnivores ones) so basically his beliefs are highly hypocritical because just like meat eaters he himself sets a belief to "who's allowed" and who isn't allowed to live in the animal kingdom. There are more but those are the most aggreges ones, If you want to do a debate with me I would love to, Tom. I will of course come with some nice academic research to back me up. Ace of Cards signing out. ♠
The VG arguments are so dumb firstly its like comparing 2 crimes of differing levels. Both are immoral, but a mugger or theif can still judge a murder. Also, he's the same dude who would want to kill carnivorous animals, which would ultimately impact the ecosystem in such a way that it would end up negatively impacting the herbivores he wants to protect. That's no better than how he views omnivorous humans from a morel standpoint. Also, being vegan and healthy is objectively more expensive than an omnivorous diet as well as being less healthy due to the simple fact u need to supplement if ur vegan. Most fake meats only focus on the protein that isn't necessarily made up of the same e.a.a's as meat on top of not being the only important nutrients found in meat.
What chat missed is that Vegan Gains specifically said in the doc animals killing and eating other animals, in the wild, should be against the law. So, if you bite on the first thought that ssoyoung eating as an animal in the wild is wrong, it should also be wrong for a lion to eat a gazelle, and a meat cutter to eat a sausage. The argument that the consumer is just “feasting on carrion” that would have been “killed anyway” is the actual logical leap. If, with knowledge of the suffering, the consumer continues to support the practice, they are essentially, but indirectly, 200 pumping the animals themselves.
THANK YOU! I always found it kind of annoying when people are like "You should be speaking about socio-politics" When they are just a celebrity... Like wtf do they know? And why do you have to wait for someone to tell you what to believe? Go do your research.
If what the caller said true about Charlie, that he eats only the most humanely raised and slaughtered meat ever(we don't know if he does this or if this really exists fully), Tom is wrong that it wouldn't make a difference. Here's why: Killing someone is wrong, torturing someone is wrong, there's no real way to say that torturing someone before killing them is not more wrong than just killing someone sans torture(assuming all else equal). In addition to the morality of killing a single animal, small scale local farms with the most humane methods ever would be both much lower volume and far more expensive and likely also for technical reason likely produce less wasted meat, so this venue of meat would also drive down overall meat consumption, number of animals killed per person eating meat and price in the moral issue for consumers a bit more and so would also be more moral en masse(again assuming meat consumption is a moral bad). If you take vegan gains general idea that animals deserve the moral consideration of people, eating from small local humane butchers is still wrong, but it's less wrong than eating from factory farms or eating an animal alive which would give Charlie grounds to criticize UNLESS vegan gains ALSO believes in an extreme version of 'he who has not sinned shall cast the first stone' concept where anyone who has any degree of immoral action cannot criticize anyone else of immoral action no matter the degrees of difference(e.g. someone who bullied their younger sibling should not criticize Hitler otherwise they are a hypocrite) If he does hold this belief that still makes him a hypocrite because vegan gains, I think, would admit he's done things previously that he feels were wrong and likely still finds some current behaviors or actions he does morally wrong(like all humans). So IF the caller was right, THEN vegan gains would be the hypocrite still.

Tom's response to Fry Guy saying people have to buy meat because it's the cheapest way to get the needed nutrients is wild. Obviously people would be upset if you killed their dog because it becomes a friend or family to them, if you bought your own dog and killed it survive or killed a wild dog and ate its meat to survive, a lot less people would be offended if you didn't torture it before eating it. People would be upset if you stole an apple tree from them as well because it's property that they put time and effort into, not because it's unethical to eat apples. Not only that but Seo Yung (?) tortured it more than it would've been if it was slaughter at a fish market, it would be like choking and throwing a cow around and killing it that way. Animal factories are inhuman because they only care about the way to get the most product for the cheapest price but that's different from prolonging the suffering of an animal like Seo Yung did. The dog comparison isn't one to one because people do care about dogs differently from farm animals from how they've been raised but there are countries where it is looked at the same way because of how they've been culturally raised. Edit to add: there are also ways to have ethically raised and slaughtered meat but it usually is way more expensive, like a butcher or proper Wagyu beef

So many times I’ve watched reaction videos and through those videos I found new creators that I didn’t know existed. If it wasn’t for the reaction video, I may have never been introduced to and therefore subscribed to and continued to watch that content.
I'd put more along the lines that "being unhinged" has a hard ceiling. Dozens, possibly hundreds of streamers reach a degree of popularity from solely from "being unhinged", but they will never make the next step where they transcend their image or shake it off and reinvent themselves as sort of online ambassadors aligning more and more with political figures(or perhaps no-one), instead of Internet personalities.
asmongold directs twitch viewers to the video, adds a direct link in the description of his youtube videos, and often doubles or triples the length of the videos
The difference between the mukbanger and the average person is that she actively ate a live animal when she could've killed it first. For the average consumer doesn't choose to eat a live animal especially if they have the option of it being killed first. Therefore it doesn't make sense to call the average consumer a hypocrite because they still are choosing a more ethical way of consumption. To go even further, the average consumer would also choose to buy from ethically sourced places if it fit within their financial means better than the alternative. Most don't because of the price difference and everyone is just trying to get by. There's a very thin minority of people that would actively choose unethically soured animal products if the ethically sourced and non ethically sourced products were offered at the same price point. Simply put, people who can't right thing shouldn't be held in the same view as those who choose to do the wrong thing .
I think that Vegan Gains was definitely in the wrong for comparing Charlie making sausages out of pre-purchased meat to the mukbang girl eating live animals on video. With the mukbang girl, she was not only directly torturing the animals erself, but also filming it, making silly faces, and playing comedic music in a way that tried to downplay how terrible her actions were towards those animals. Meanwhile, Charlie did not engage in torturing animals, nor on video. He purchased meat, which could arguably be contributing to an industry that abuses animals. However, what Charlie did was certainly not nearly on the same magnitude, and certainly not worse, than what the mukbang girl did.

An animal that is killed for meat is usually instantaneous and the animal doesn’t suffer. Eating an animal alive bit by bit where it’s able to feel itself being consumed is NOT the same as going to the grocery store and buying a piece of meat. She went out of her way to consume an animal live for views, people that go to a grocery store buy meat for normal consumption because you need to eat meat in order to metabolism certain vitamins and minerals that are needed for basic human functions.

Like she literally dragged it across a table and toyed with it while it suffocated out of water for her and her audience’s entertainment 😭😭
Vegans need to be targetting the government for having a horrible system that's hard to survive in, let alone survive economically as a vegan.
ah so being nice to the animal before you kill it makes it better somehow 💀 i’ve never understood that argument
It's not realistic, maybe one day. Hell, Charlie, the person at the point of this damn attack, has stated he thinks labs/cultured meat is the way of the future, and it very well might be.

@yourewrongfr They're wrong, though lil bro. You're telling me that it's the same to torture an animal all it's life then eat it slowly alive. As raising an animal for a great life and quickly putting it down?
They're not the same. One is horrible, and one is a sad truth of life.
You're not a hypocrite for consuming what you must to survive. Especially when you source your food from good sources.
1:05:44 the difference is one person is eating animals alive. Either way both situations are bad and the best way is to sustainably source your meat but that's not reasonable for everyone to do as its so expensive. It is reasonable to just not eat animals alive.

In the vegan discussion: the difference is that the streamer is deciding to personally torture the animal for views rather than the people who buy it don't have the choice to torture the animal. To view it as hypocritical is at best redundant at worse being a bad actor. Imagine during the TH-cam animal torture era, no one reported the videos because "Oh well I eat meat so I'm pretty much compliant to animal torture."
Edit: to add on to this: This line of thinking is like saying your okay with murder because you live in a nation that fights in wars where people die so you living in that nation is directly equivalent to being a murder.
Slaughterhouses don't torture for fun, they do it because YOU are waiting at the other side with an open wallet ready to pay for their service. Its supply and demand 101. That's literally vegans pov, that by you buying the processed meat, you are providing a monetary incentive for that meat to be processed. If we stopped buying the meat, then naturally the factories will close down because the market has shifted.
Also you're military argument doesn't really make sense. I don't understand how it applies to this. Please explain to me
@perpetual_suffering1458 nowhere do I mention slaughter houses I'm talking about the content creator who tortured a squid. Also I'm saying: If me buying meat made from a dead animal means I'm immoral to the death of animals. Then living on land fought on centuries of blood shed makes you immoral to murder. If you can't understand that you don't understand the discussion at all.
@@Samsungor no you compared the content creator to people who buy meat from slaughter houses. You didn't invoke the word slaughterhouse but at the same time what the fuck else could you be talking about, it's not like the cow tripped and died before it made its way to the shop and later your belly. It went through a slaughter house. Quit playing weird games to avoid my argument.
Btw way the word is "amoral", not "immoral". Immoral means wrong. The sentence "I'm wrong to the death or animals" literally makes no sense. But I know what you're trying to say.
Yea as I said in the last comment, this comparison doesn't make sense. You directly paying for the service "killing and processing of meat" is not the same as your great, great great great great great great great great grandfather killing an Indian. You cannot change the past, but the systematic slaughter of animals isn't the past, its the present and the future, and that future will always exist as long as we financially support it. You buying meat directly supports the meat industry, the industry is providing YOU a service because you are the one paying for it. That's got nothing in common to you literally existing in a country that saw bloodshed in the past

The Flaws in VeganGains Argument are the followings:
Hearing Sneako doubting others beliefs is funny coming from someone who changes his tune every time a new daddy comes appears.
Vegan gains hasn’t been right one time on camera, it’s his whole personality quit feeding into it
The VG arguments are so dumb firstly its like comparing 2 crimes of differing levels.

If you take vegan gains general idea that animals deserve the moral consideration of people, eating from small local humane butchers is still wrong, but it's less wrong than eating from factory farms or eating an animal alive which would give Charlie grounds to criticize UNLESS vegan gains ALSO believes in an extreme version of 'he who has not sinned shall cast the first stone' concept where anyone who has any degree of immoral action cannot criticize anyone else of immoral action no matter the degrees of difference(e.g. someone who bullied their younger sibling should not criticize Hitler otherwise they are a hypocrite)
If he does hold this belief that still makes him a hypocrite because vegan gains, I think, would admit he's done things previously that he feels were wrong and likely still finds some current behaviors or actions he does morally wrong(like all humans). So IF the caller was right, THEN vegan gains would be the hypocrite still.
That's a lot of words, too bad I'm not reading them

The dog comparison isn't one to one because people do care about dogs differently from farm animals from how they've been raised but there are countries where it is looked at the same way because of how they've been culturally raised.

asmongold directs twitch viewers to the video, adds a direct link in the description of his youtube videos, and often doubles or triples the length of the videos

What does Charlie believe in? He believes in mags, not clips, mags!
Its not hypocritical if you dont believe it's wrong.
I always yell 14 pages when i hear it
That same argument for a meat-eater being as bad as an animal abuser/torturer is just bogus. Does that make everyone who has ever bought a game from Blizzard during their abuse arc just as bad as the abusers because they are the ones responsible for paying the money that determines their checks?
The first 10 seconds are ironic cuz for someone who says that shit, youd expect them to be consitent in their beliefs or loyal to their opinions
Yet Sneako ISNT, he literally has NO opinions, he copies what he sees from other people and pastes it into his own content. Sneako from years ago is completely different to the Sneako we have now, because this Sneako is fake and only says shit for attention and engagement
One correction
Sneako does have one consistent belief: people at a “developed age” are hot and can consent to
The Vegan Gains glazing is crazy
The synthetic man just straight up getting multiple things wrong about the fallout show so that it aligns with his shit takes is definitely worthy of a chuckle
Veganism is not sustainable long term and often times these people have to take supplements because their bodies don’t have the vitamins that come from meat and animal byproducts. I love listening to Tom but that argument was stupid as fuck and honestly incredibly ignorant.
Can a Lion murder a Zebra or can a Bear murder a Salmon?
I have this image of Sneako dancing around like an idiot holding an M1 Garand now just so he's 100% right
In which Tom pretends it’s “abusing animals” to live your life and eat meat for sustenance, despite the fact ANIMALS ARENT HUMANS and it’s just disgusting to pretend they are to condemn people for eating meat.
The foundation of Vegan Gains' argument is flawed. But if you just accept his axioms then everything else follows. He may be morally consistent but his house is built on a flawed and faulty foundations, at best.
10:17 in my opinion, regardless of size someone should be allowed to respond to someone calling them out by name. DVAU is just crying because someone he called out responded at all and didn’t grovel to him about how sorry they were that they made react content.
Great timing for this to drop.
I would rather be killed then eaten than eaten alive
