Chris- I cant tell you how much I enjoyed watching this video. You truly are talented at not only your work, but how well you present things in a very understandable way that is easy to follow. Thank you for highlighting so much so soon. This video is going to really want to make a lot of people upgrade who may have been on the fence even in tough times like this. Have a great rest of your year.
Amazing Video, the way you approach the listeners is just amazing. Great work, I'm doing a webinar about lumion soon, I'll surely take some of your tips!!! Thank You so much! Really good work, keep going on!!!
Thank you so much for a great detail video, I have lumion 9.5 I am an Interior Designer so must of my work is interiors. I was debating of upgrading to lumion 11 because the orthographic and other items that lumion 11 have thanks again. I follow you and definitely learned a lot.
Totally valid point. You have to do what makes sense for your needs. For some, this release has what they are looking for and for some it makes sense to wait totally get it.
@@zepingniu5177 Lumion is the only program that I can import my 3D model file. I export my 3D model as a Collada file and import into Lumion. I've downloaded and tried D5 Render and TwinMotion 2020, but they do not support the file format that I work with or can export. I'd love to try other programs, but until they support more file types, I'm sticking with Lumion.
@@hldemi I do all residential, so I use Chief Architect because I can model faster since it's set up for architectural design, but it only gives me the options to export as a DAE, DWG, DXF, 3DS, STL or WRL file. None of these can be opened in D5 render or TwinMotion (from what I can see). I downloaded both programs as a trial and tried to import any of these formats, but none were an option.
@@robertsmithdesignllc4623 Export as 3DS, import into sketchup and from sketchup export into anything you like. D5 supports default sketchup format. I dont use any of those but just tryng to help.
Hi Chris, thank you so much for the video! Very in-depth explanation on all the new features in Lumion 11. I was wondering, as far as the new colorization tab in Lumion 11, how am I able to change a material to be lighter or darker without the "scroll" that previous Lumion versions had in place of the RAL colors?
Sorry im not sure exactly what you mean. The RAL colors are an addition, but nothing was taken away. I just mix with black to get darker, but lighter is tricky, mixing with white isn't as useful as black.
I would honestly suggest checking out Lumion's minimum requirements page on their website. Just look for cpus with great gaming value/$ 16-32gb min ram and put all the $ you can into best gpu you can afford. That's where it counts.
What you are asking is only achieved through ray tracing. Emissive in game engines is just a camera bloom effect to appear bright. In order to have a material emit light you'd need ray tracing. Maybe one day that'll happen with RTX ;) Also hyperlight does mimic this too if the light is visible to the camera since its using screen space.
@@CWelton6 i hope Lumion support raytracing .... coz i moved to UE4 with complex steps with work for this reason .. maybe D5 present what i need .. but Lumion is very very good Software ... i love it ...

Great explanation ever.
Thank you! Great!
These are great new additions to Lumion 11, but for $1,300 upgrade, I may hold off to see what the next releases may offer.

i was just wondering what your system specs are as im interested in this and would like to know if my system will work. :)
