Decided i'd finally read Lord of the rings this year, that big book has been staring at me from my shelf for far too long 😄 im not the fastest reader and have other books on my list too but i've given myself the whole year time to do it. Thanks for videos, you have such soothing voice. And good luck for year 2025!
I love that you are setting LESS (and more specific) goals this year. I would much rather watch someone who is setting realistic goals for themselves, but more importantly, someone who is truly reading and ENJOYING what they are consuming vs someone who is just vacuuming up books and not retaining/enjoying them (or lets be honest, not REALLY reading them at all.) So thank you!
The book I can’t wait to get to this year is The Way of Kings, but I am a completionist at heart, so of course I’ll need to read Sanderson’s Cosmere universe in the best order there is😌 I am just beginning that journey so hopefully I’ll have the time to reach The Way of Kings this year.
Oh no! Homework! 😮 My pick would be Shadows Upon Time by Christopher Ruocchio, loved Sun Eater so far, and not reading the last book I've been waiting for, impossible!
Yes, all the credit for getting the series number lower! My series goal this year is to get to 100 that I'm "in progress" on - currently sitting at 124, so not sure if I'll accomplish it, but it's good to set a bar and try anyway! If I could only read one book...difficult, as there's several top priorities this year... I guess Wind and Truth doesn't count, since I started it in Dec...the next book in the Hierarchy series by Islington that's coming out later this year (I think) would be my pick. What's yours?
The book i'd read right now is Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb - who I really want to prioritize this year. And I'm not reading it right now, because I had to click on your video as soon as I saw the notification😂
I've had Mayas in my life, but I also have been the Maya I really like your reading goals, hopeful but also well balanced; not that it matters but I agree with the channel goals, yeah sure it's nice to see the community growing but it is also a safe space that shouldn't feel stressful or burden-ish. I really like your content and just want to watch more if it, whichever way it comes. As for the final question, I'd say either Notre Dame of Paris or Pride and Prejudice. And the why... well I'm very intimidated
I think my one book this year might be rereading the first book in the magicians' guild series by trudi canavan (planning to reread the whole trilogy but you asked for ONE book :D). It's been a few years since my last reread of that and I find myself discovering/enjoying completely different parts/plots whenever I do
Your videos are so well done. Great editing and awesome goals. If I had to read only one book… I think I’m going with my next read. To Ride Hell’s Chasm. I’m reading it once I finish Wind and Truth for a Sando-break lol. But from what I hear, Janny is a master. I’m excited to get into it!
That is a tough question for sure. I think if forced I would say The Starless Sea, which would be a reread for me. I absolutely loved this when I read it last year and am sure that there are so many little details and descriptions I missed. I don’t reread often (too many books to read not enough time) but think I could happily read that multiple times this year if I could.
I would like to read any book of Brandon Sanderson. I started to read his Books at the end of last year and am realy amazed. By the way, love your TBR Games and started to playing it. Thanks for making it a free Ressource 😊
Frog music by Emma Donoghue is one I'm most looking forward to this year. It currently seems something I'm interested in. I haven't gotten to it because I'm doing prompts as well and decided to read a book I started last year.
Rough question 😂 Sanctuary by D.J. Molles I'm excited to read this but I'm nervous for the universe to come to an end. 😂 Love your videos and I hope you keep enjoying your hobbies. ❤
I could take the easiest answer and try to summon Alecto the Ninth into existence - but it's clear I'm not reading it now because it's not there. So, the actual answer is: The Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch. It's long enough and should be full of Everything enough to satisfy me for the year. I'm not reading it yet because looking at the cover something in my mind considered it a late February/early March read.
If I had to only read one book this year, it'd be The Wager by David Grann (my absolute favourite non-fiction writer, who writes so beautifully). I am not reading it right now because I've been so sick and very slowly recovering these past few weeks, and want to enjoy it fully. Best of luck for your 2025 goals, may it be a very happy year too. Your channel was one of my top discoveries of 2024. ❤
The one and only book that I can’t wait to read is Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros. I loved loved loved the previous two books and I really cannot express the anticipation for the third and for the series afterwards! ❤❤
The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. I've read it twice and now I'm just waiting for warmer weather, because I usually read on public transport and at bus and tram stops. I don't like reading classics on my e-reader, and physical books aren't practical in cold, wet weather. 💁♀
The book I want to read this year is hyperion that is so well known that is need no more word reason I am not reading it is I wanted to read tad Williams dragonbone chair and it a chunky of a book and that was my goal yo read the first book big book put me off because unlike yourself and other I can't read as fast as some but no matter I am enjoying it, great vid and done good goals 👍
I am waiting impatiently for the new V E Schwab book to drop Bury My Bones in the Midnight Soil. Until then I am reading from my tbr and I just finished Blood Meridian off your recommendation. So good in case anyone was wondering!!!!
Ah, I see - the last video was the villain origin story and today, the villain has fully awaken - what a nasty question 😂 (I see your revenge 😆) I need to exclude rereads 🙈 - they are my comfort/keep my sanity aids and I could not give them up 😊 so the one I'm really looking forward is The Running Grave by Galbraith, the previous book in the series was my favorite one of 2024 and I can't wait to continue with the story 🥰 Otherwise, I loved your stats - it's really impressive to have only 4 dnfs out of 91 books - you know what will be good 👍
if I could only read one book this year (oh the agony, even thinking about it!) it would have to be Oathbringer. It is sitting on my bedside table. The reason I am not reading it now is that I committed to a buddy read of Malice by John Gwynne. Almost finished, though, so Oathbringer is next.
❤📚📚❤️ Dr. Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke. At the moment, I am caring for a sick parent just home from the hospital. Sadly, I haven't had as much reading time. But, hopefully, for his sake and mine soon. 🙏🤞
Your part 2 answer to the question about channel goals is why I like your channel and watch all of your videos. Well, except Cosmere, because I’m not interested in reading those books. Last year I could have easily answered your question as the final book in Wars of Light and Shadow came out. And I did read it as soon as it arrived. This year, I have no clue on the answer. I’m not itching for anything to be released, and as I’m a mood reader, I pick books each month that are calling to me in the moment. My closest answer is that I want to reread the Riftwar Saga and the Empire trilogy this year - and I have already started, and read Magician last week.
Thank you for the kind words, Nic! And may I say, great job on not sleeping on the books you want to read (like the majority of the rest of us). You are doing great! ✨
I want to read Forsworn by David Estes and it is on my TBR for January!! I am hoping to start it next week. I also can't wait to read Of Empires & Dust by Ryan Cahill but it doesn't come out until March.
The one book I'm most excited for right now is We'll Prescribe You a Cat by Syou Ishida. The only reason I'm not reading it yet is that I chose it to cover one of the buzzword challenge prompts in a couple months lol.
I have two I'm most looking forward to reading. One is a sequel called A Touch of Blood by Sajni Patel. The first book A Drop of Venom was one of my favorite books of last year. It comes out in February. The next book is Tempest at Annabel's Lighthouse by Jaime Jo Wright. She's one of my favorite authors and this book has a haunted lighthouse! It'll comes out in April.
Oh, but it's so great that you're taking up that challenge. And with a fantasy book too! It will become less of a challenge with time though, hang in there! Also, Yaroslava is a such a beautiful name! 🌸
Excellent and very entertaining video! I suppose if I could only read one book this year, it would be Latro in the Mist by Gene Wolfe. It's the one I'm most curious about.
I think I'd probably read The Stand by S. King, he's one of my favourite writers and she's been sitting on my shelf in a very pretty edition, but it's a chunky book and looks very intimidating 😅
I know the feeling, Lina. But it's a story. It's there for you to enjoy or not. There's nothing to be afraid of. Take the chance, read the book, watch a sunrise. Make today count. 🌸
We're not judging Maya at all (we so are) Your question sends me going through my ages long tbr in panic, but I guess I'd pick Amber In the Ashes as I've been wanting to read it for years now.
Maya was a lovely girl, but an offence like this can't be forgotten, even when forgiven. Don't postpone good books anymore. Read the thing, who know what tomorrow has for us. If you can read it today, start it. You'll either like it or not. But it could be something special, why not enjoy it today?
The one book I want to read is the next book in the Last King of Osten Ard called Empire of Grass. I am starting it on Monday. I am finishing up Curse of the Mistwraith now.
Nice video. Hope you achieve your goals. The answer to your question... "The Book That Wouldn't Burn" By Mark Lawrence, and I have the audio book right now. 😊
The one book I want to read this year is "Black Lamb and Grey Falcon-- A Journey through Yugoslavia" by Rebecca West. It is mildly intimidating with 1,150 pages and very small print.
Oh this sounds amazing! I had never heard of it but it sounds like something I'd be interested in. Thank you for sharing it. And don't be intimidated by big long books, Ruth. It's just words on a page. They tell a story. The more there is, the more you get to enjoy. Nothing scary in that. 😉
Oof if I could only read one book this year, it would be Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 6: The Eye of the Bedlam Bride. It doesn’t come out until April, so I’m left waiting until then.
Only one book??? Such a tough question!!! Maybe Onyx Storm? I've been (re)reading the series in different languages to practice, so I would still count it as one book, but I would get more than one book out of it, if that makes sense XD
You are too kind, Lela 🌸 Don't be afraid - it's a big book and won't make much sense for a while, probably. But it's also very enjoyable later on. It's just words waiting for you to let them tell you a story. So relax and allow them ;)
But that's the beauty of 'ambiguous untrackable goals', they make it so easy to convince yourself and everyone else that you succeeded because who is gonna have hard proof you didn't? 🤣 Good luck with managing the series situation, I have over 200 series ongoing and only 120 or so that I am caught up on... oops 🥲 Also love your attitude in regards to the channel goals. Wherever your booktube journey takes you, I will be with you every step along the way :))

Also love the makeup.
Alsooooo, loved the stats and the goals! ❤
And if we don’t have a Maya in our lives, we might just be the Maya.
@dsm_796 Hahah thank you! ❤️
@Stargazerlost LOL 😂
@@Stargazerlost YES! The world is divided between those who are Maya and those who are victims of Maya. 🥲

Right now I'm just trying to bring up my reading stamina from too long of not reading! There's so much I want to get to.
Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson. I'm waiting on a copy from my county library system.
Yes, waiting for a library copy is tough. But so great you are using the library! 📚✨
Tigana by Guy Gabriel Kay. And you convinced me - I'm starting it now!
