Hi I have a 2007 H3 and need some repairs. I am in Montreal do you have any garage or mechanics you recommend me to go see. I have some power steering issues and some transmission issues.
Let me know if you have someone you recommend.
    Thank you in advance.

Sadly, I personnally don't know any one working in that region, but pretty much any mechanic will do the job as long do can work on GMC or Chevy. The H3 is built on a pretty common GM engine and transmission.
You can go see a dealership...but they usually charge more.
Is the power steering making noise?

@@probonomechanic Thank you for the advice. Yes the power steering was making noise but I added some power steering fluid and now the problem seem gone for now.
I was able to bring to a local transmission guy and they told me the transmission is probably burnt and I need a rebuild or another transmission. They said rebuilt about 3000$ CAD and used I can get the parts for 950$ + 500$ labor.
This truck now has 285 000KM should I invest the money or just sale as is. What do you think?
I love my H3 but I don't want it to become a money pit. !!!
Thank you again for taking the time to reply to me I am super appreciated

      Here it gets tricky.
Whats happening with the transmission? Slipping?
The thing is taking a second hand transmission could bring the same problem within a few days or year (it's always a gamble) and buying a new one will cost half the value of the hummer.
The resell can be hard depending on the trim and accessories. If you sell it without repairs you could see the sell drag for a long time or having to lower the price considerably.
If you go for the second hand part and sell, you could keep the value to a certain degree.
If your hummer is running A1 (beside the transmission), no rust holes, doesn't burn its oil. I would say keep it. But if you feel you are getting to much ware on it, I would say sell and go get one with lower mileage or atleast in a good shape. (Better have a solid base then trying to patch a leaking boat)
I know its not a specific answer, it really depends on your financial situation and the shape of the hummer.

@@probonomechanic How much do you think it is fair to sale it as is to someone that wants to fix it??

@@savageOS30Hi, I just saw your reply. Sorry about that!
You could shop around and 2000$ seems like a good deal. 3000$ is at the top end of repair.
