This guy is an outstanding actor. His death scenes in Last Kingdom is the best death acting I’ve ever seen in Movies. I’m sure Toby will have a long career. All his scenes in Last Kingdom as the King of Mercia were fantastic.
Yes he was incredible in TLK! Especially the episode leading to his death!
Man that death scene though, as soon as Eardwulf grabbed the tool and stuck it in the bandage, you knew what was coming and I immediately cringed. The skull crunching bit is what got me. Can't deny he had it coming, but it was certainly a 'What-the-actual-hell?' moment.
Gonna predict an Oscar within ten years. His skills are phenomenal. But we need to see him in more modern, contemporary projects to really understand the depth of his talent. He's gotten a little typecast and we need him to expand because he is amazing talent.

Toby is such a good áctor, he played tommaso peruzzi in Medici who was the most innocent and likeable guy ever, then he played Francis who's also a nice guy, and he's played aethelred, and I'm happy to say he has played each character with sheer perfection, loved the episode guys, my favourite yet

Great interview! Toby is such a fun and talented actor, easy-going and articulate. I loved how he was able to poke fun too at his character taking him down to the bare bones to highlight AEthelred's childish exploits. I'm always amazed by your abilities to weave various aspects of past conversations with the producers, costume designers, tidbits of dialogue, and highlights from the show to drive the conversation and broaden the sharing. Talk about knowing the content of your material huh- not only for Toby's portrayal in The Last Kingdom but your knowledge of his other works as well. You took him through that transition, moving from one show to the other with such a clean flow - really nice interview.

Toby is a great actor. I saw a video of him where they asked him to play a scene from Reign with his co-star Adelaide Kane and he swiped so quickly into his character, I was shocked. He's talented.

Toby is my favorite actor and I'm watching TLK because of him although I don't like his character as Aethelred but when I watched him in the death scene I'm in tears 😢 It's good to know that his mom was there when he filmed that scene, how cute he is. And thanks for the question about Fantastic beasts. I'm a big fan of Harry Potter also, I really want to see him more as young Dumbledore in Fantastic beasts 3.

Yay Toby! Loved Toby as Francis on 'Reign'. Hated AEthelred, but that's to Toby's credit as an actor! Toby is amazing in every role! Imagine if AEthelred had had King Francis's personality -- AEthelflaed and AEthelred would have been a dream team!
I laughed so hard. How can anyone be so handsome and talented, yet seem so utterly unaware of his charm? I prefer him playing the hero, but because of him, I couldn't hate Aethelred.

Loved Toby Regbo's Jack in the third (and last) season of The Discovery of Witches.
I believe DOW was the project he was alluding to when he described his character as having an “interesting” combo of both good & bad. He was perfect in the role of Jack.

Great job guys (again)! I wasn`t a fan of Toby, though he showed a solid (and in season four an even touching) performance as Aethelred. But he`s really likable and funny, a great pleasure to watch and listen:) - Unfortunately the subtitles are no more synchronous after about 60 minutes. I`m looking forward to his new project and your next guest.

Love all his roles they are so diverse. It just proves what a talented actor he is. Most actors play the same type of role all their career, Toby switches it up pretty much every roll. Kudos to him! I’m in awe of his hard work and talent 💕 and also he’s hilarious! On and off screen. You guys hit it on the nail about the part where his wife is kidnapped and she asks don’t you even care? Hilarious! 😂😂
His character is always denying the girl is his daughter but both his character and his daughter in question both have a love for birds. thought that was very interesting.
So far Reign is my favorite, and Mary so beautiful, as well as you, you guys are amazing together!
When they were talking about the falcon and how Aethelred sees himself as a "bird of prey", kinda made me realize his whole character is a bit like a turducken. Aethelred is a turkey who acts like a peacock, who sees himself as an eagle, but once you get to know him...deep down he's a chicken (afraid of losing influence and lands; and later on, afraid of dying without a proper successor).

I thought that in addition to Toby Rigbo and Harry McEntire, Brian Vernel who played Odda the Younger was also outstanding. Unfortunately for Brian , his character was cut short by being stabbed to death by his father. I looked at the characters played by Toby, Harry, and Brian as the young guys in the show. I was sorry to see Brian die off so early in the series.

I'm not a psychologist but while watching Aethelred's scenes of intimacy with Aethelflaed and Eadith, I did wonder what kind of mental disorder he suffered from. He only ever... took women with their backs to him and never even kissed. In fact come to think of it, Aethelflaed's moonlight kiss with Erik was probably her first kiss! Very sad. And then Aethelred was convinced he and Eadith were "in love" and even asked for confirmation from her, in that dissociated, pathological way of his. I wonder what his diagnosis would be if a shrink analysed his scenes?
