Same girl same, the online classes were wack. I dropped out of NIFT right before my graduation jury. NIFT made me hate designing, the faculties were rude and of no help, they don't care about the students' wellbeing, they only cared about submissions. I did not attend my final jury due to a really mean comment that one faculty passed about me that was no way related to my work/project but about my mental health. That crossed the line and I left and never looked back. I was really in a bad state mentally and she used it against me. The only thing NIFT gave me is anxiety and depression but a set of really badass creative friends. More power to you girl! Thank you so much for sharing your story. 💕

@@Yashasviii10 Dw it will all work out fine. My batch went through the covid online classes era. It was hard for many of us. We badly wanted to get back to campus. We couldn't learn the things we should have learned. Since it's all offline now, it will all be fine. Just one thing, remember to have fun, learn, try to join a lot of internships and activities in college. Do not share personal problems with your faculties, not even your mentor. Just believe in yourself. You'll do amazing✨ even if it doesn't work out, people who are in the creative field eventually find their way. All the best✨✨✨ 🫂

Honestly I’ve heard it from 0:00 till the very end,and yes yes yes it a a huge yes when we say that education is important but as long as you’ve got a plan to make a living out of something that you love and that you believe in substantial for your future then there’s no biggie to not join/ drop out of college because it’ll be stupid to waste 3-4 years of your life and wasting like a huge chunk of money doing something that you absolutely abhor doing and have no plan on how to use it in real life, this video speaks volume, I don’t think you’ve glorified dropping out of college but at the same time you kept the balance and told people the truth that was so essential. You’re doing amazing in your life inspiring a ton young girls to not be scared to want to pursue their dreams, your work is great it speaks for itself. I see it we see it online, More power to you and hoping the brightest of future to you

Well was from Nift Delhi and let me tell you that NIFT is just the opposite that it seems from outside. The assignments are not fun they make you go MAD. Like regular colleges you don’t study when exams are coming and stat up late. You literally stay up late every night of the 4 year journey to do multiple assignments a day. The attendance is not like regular colleges, they will fail you if you even get short by 1%. They don’t care you had whatever deadly disease or problem they are ruthless. You will meet all kind of people there, the good , the bad , the ugly and the the best ones also. When I was in my first year of college I was literally in clinical depression. I realised it in 2nd year about that, it slowly grew on me in 1st year. I had only 2 options either fight or flight. And since I come from a small town and my town has not options of good education I had to fight this journey ahead. I can’t drop out ! So I continued and it started a journey of lifetime.
BUT I won’t say don’t go to Nift cause while i was burnt i also got the courage to rise from the ashes. From 2nd year onwards I understood what it was and the journey will be and it was a roller coaster ride from there and I enjoyed every bit of it. So go to NIFT for the experience like you go on a safari , butt just remember it doesn’t gaurantee you a placement. But it does gaurantee you a LOT OF FUN, Freedom to dress the way you want to, it will teach you about core fashion, it will teach you how to survive in this cutroat industry, and how to hustle like a crazy person without thinking about food, water, sleep. So I don’t regret a single bit going to NIFT as it did not give me what it promised - a job placement but it dis gave me a lot more which no other average college in India can give me. And I have done successful business in Styling, a fashion brand and a consultancy company. Not exactly thanks to Nift, but I still give it the due credit. 😊

Thankyou for sharing this! I’m currently studying in Nift and it’s the worse the assignments are very boring and bad and neither of the teachers are helpful last year I had a disease which I’m still going through the teachers made my life hell. They don’t care about your well being they just care about your submission and they make such personal comments about everything that it has held me to deep anxiety and depression. They make you think industry is like this but actually it’s the opposite they do this because they are mostly just judging on how you behave with them and not with your work. So keep a strong mind before getting into NIFT! Because it can cause you a lot of trauma.

As a guy who’s applying for NIFT, do they even teach haute couture / high fashion stuff in their syllabus or it’s the traditional indian stuff? Because all the NIFT Alumni I’ve seen create the most basic clothes. So could you please tell me if NIFT is worth it for someone who likes designers like Virgil Abloh, Demna Gvasalia, Jun Takahashi, etc?

    • @Ngomdirnyapi
      @Ngomdirnyapi ปีที่แล้ว +3

This is something that I have wondered about and it’s almost as if they are told to make boring designs.Honestly they just teach the most basic patterns but I guess you learn the basics of pattern making with which you can learn more from the internet. I will say that it’s completely up to you to learn better skills which you will have to do from the internet. Having said that, some students definitely make good garments so it’s completely dependent on how hard you are willing to work cause they teach next to nothing but you still have the resources in labs which is nice.

I, too got, sometimes thought of leaving the college in 2nd year, but after wasting my two precious years preparing for the NIFT exam, I didn't dare to drop out.
I know covid is not a significant phase for other people, but it helped me to heal. I got a sense of the importance of family, and for that, I thank God.
And in 2022, I completed my Degree.
    Now I'm Jobless :/
I did get the job, but not from campus placement.
The placement cell of Nift Chennai (I don't know other nift Campuses) is so sucked 🤬....... After spending lakhs of money on this Shity College, the company they have arranged for us are in campus placement are 💩💩💩. The so-called companies offered a salary was 10,000 p.m. To 50,000 p.m (and this to not for all ).
After the so-called placement was over, we students searched for ourselves. Then I got the Job, too, and in an Export House, and the salary was Decent too, comparatively what my other classmates got.
But then I thought, is it worth it. I wanted to create something NEW, not some WGSN images copy-paste.
In the end. I just left the job
So I'm writing this for those kids who are not that well off. Please invest your parent's money in something worthwhile.
    I
Those who are Rich go into Nift .....just kidding
Lastly, NIFT is too much Hyped ..................
