A loft in the garage? For the layout? Hmm...not a bad idea, not bad at all.
The model train appears to be a Lionel? The scales are different but it seems to work just fine. I just happen to have a Lionel set that I've been using at Christmas to go around the tree. Those things cost mad money. Now I see that it just might work with the slot car layout I have in mind. Another $300 to expand the track and I can put the Lionel to much better use.
