❤ love all the extra tidbits! I have noticed on my nails that I have to file the under portion on the sides because they start to grow in a downward motion…. I’m sure there are many different types of nails out there but any tips and tricks are welcome! I love watching your creative process ❤
Yes!! I have a couple clients like this actually! If you watch my “midnights nails and new NT colors” salon vlog, one of them is the one with the midnights vinyl nails . I shape one nail in that one but don’t really give tips. Usually with those clients i build a little bit more of my base coat on the tip of the nail so the nail is more flat, so then when i paint color over it , it doesn’t look like it’s growing as downward as it was!

Oh yes it does. Mainly if i didn’t see the lifting and it catches it right with its little teeth! But most the time i see the lifting before so i know how to work it

is there any way to prevent the top coat from getting dull/matte like the last mani? it only happens to me with like darker/creme colors and after like a day the gloss will be gone, esp on the ends of my nails 🥲i usually use the kokoist glossy non wipe top coat
It sounds like it's undercured. I've heard that overcuring can dull the shine, but I think it's more of an immediate effect.
Yesss i agree w Rebecca ! Make sure you are curing that top coat for 60 seconds . after it’s cured, try not to touch it for a couple minutes while it’s still “warm” ! And if the gloss is gone at the ends of your nails right away, it could be either your hand isn’t placed properly in the lamp so the light isnt reaching the tips , orrrr you are rough on them and possibly scratching it up and it’s more obvious on darker colors to see! So many possible reasons, hope those help !
@@nailthoughts ahh i’ve tried curing between 30-60 seconds and it still happens :( it happens w different top coats too even from different brands. i have a very hands-on job so it may just be that i’m rough on them. but thank you for the tips!!
