This was perfect timing. I have a Large Harper and a Large Diana that need a bit of tailoring and this video is so clear in its explanations. Could you please please take all these "make the wig smaller" videos into a single playlist? That way we Wig Creatives can clearly see how each different alteration affects the size and fit of any given wig. Thank you so much!
@GodivasSecretWigs I cannot thank you enough for this tutorial. I have a few new wigs from the Belle Tress City collection and for some strange reason they are bunching/puckering at either side and i knew, just by having common sense, that removing the wefts horizontally was not the answer, I was not sure where to remove them vertically , like you show in this video. Now I understand where the wefts need to come out and how to achieve the fit I need. THANK YOU!! You've just saved me from making a huge error.
This was an excellent video for wig wearers. I learned a ton. My question? Is there a way to take a wig and make it a cap wig? My head gets so hot when I wear a full wig with a cap or a hat. Thank you 💜💜💜
Hi Razz, you bring up a great thought! Dani and I are going to start cutting up some wigs to see how we'd best like to show this. In the meantime, we do have our "Bangs on a Headband" for the hairline - they're great under hats/turbans. Thanks! Ro

Hi there! I would follow Dani step by step - other's have already had success. That tiny little bump won't show and you can also loosen/tighten the tension of the thread so it's minimal. xo Ro
What a great video Danielle. One of my wigs is getting a little loose and I've already adjusted the back strips as far as they will go, next step will be trying this trick out. I've nothing to loose at this point so now is as good a time as any to practice. Have a wonderful week!
Hi Lisa, glad you liked this video! You can also cut the elastic strap shorter and sew it right with the wig, or replace the stretched strap and sew a new piece of elastic on each side too. xo Ro

What if you need to make a wig smaller in more than one way for a very small head? I need to both remove the “v”s and make the wig smaller at the bottom. Can you do both alterations and in what order should they be done. Thanks for any help you can provide. I would love to see a video where both are done.
Thank you for the reply. Would love a video showing this. And in fact any combo of Vs, crown, top. Having a child’s size head is very difficult in the wig world.
Hope you see this comment. I checked and see that I need to both take out the Vs and make the wig smaller from the bottom. Is there an order that this should be done in? Would love a video on this. However, just an answer would be helpful too. Thank you.
That was very helpful. Thanks. Is there a way to tighten the crown area on a Mono top wig? I have some with a "bubble' at the crown, just above the wefts. Thanks !
Yes Jane, you're not going to touch the mono/crown area - just remove some wefts from just below the crown. We call it a 3-2-1. Here's our video: th-cam.com/video/tqsiy0DpHeo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7oV2PEzRZszAPZIG. Just follow along- lots of clients have used this with success! Ro
When you do this does the wig cap become smaller or does it stretch enough that you should not notice? I am assuming the purpose of doing it is to remove the hair?
It's about making the "body" of the wig smaller - while doing this, you will remove a little bit of wefts from the wig. If a wig has too much hair for you, I suggest you go somewhere where they can thin the hair/trim and not touch the cap of the actual wig. xo Ro

Hi Diane, Yes, of course - its been on our list to tighten up the categories of our playlist. We will announce it when we have it done! xo Ro

Excellent! Thank you so much. I have less than child ear to ear. This will be a great help.

Thank you so much! I believe I’m the one who asked for this.😊 Just wondering if I should cut into the top a little so there won’t be a bump.

Great video. It looks so easy!

Good question! In this order 1. Cut the crown 2. Cut the "v"s. 3. Sew the "v"s. 4. attach the crown. xo Ro

Greetings Danielle! What if the cap is too small? What can you do? Love and blessings ♥️🙏

Great engineering job! I have a large Alana that I want to work on.
Great! xo Ro
What do you do if there is ‘no’ “V”? All lines (5) are straight down!
Then, it's near impossible to shorten the width of the wig around. Remember, the "V"s are just tightening the width. xo Ro
Fantastic, thanks
Thanks Salty! xo Ro
