Bro, don't get me started on realism when lip balm will allow you to sprint on broken bones. We now tried "realistic" plates and the majority of the player base hated it so BSG reverted it.
@@NielsenNielsen Sometimes you need a touch of it or you end up with the absurdity of a rifle round directly through your chest being less lethal than some buckshot scraping your armpit.
@@Jackpkmn Don't get me wrong, although I didn't say it in my previous post I did actually like the "realistic" hitboxes for the armor, made the game more unique. In a perfect world I'd like to see both that system and vital areas. Doubt we ever have that in tarkov. But overall players didn't like the "realistic" plates.

It's ironic. The "CoD zoomers" in this game wanted it to have a 30 seconds time-to-kill so they could keep sprinting all around their raids without being careful, so they defended any change to the previous armor system (even if it's a bad change like the one we got), but now the game is evolving into a leg meta once again as a counter to the overpowered armor which is now arguably lowering the time-to-kill compared to how the game was before the armor rework, at least in the situations where players aren't shooting at each other from behind cover when legs are usually not exposed.
The solution for the issue has already been proposed. Players need a vital hitbox centered on their chest so armor plates can be effective without having such ridiculous large hitboxes, but since that solution is more complex than simply increasing the size of armor plates then BSG just took the easy approach and made the game worse because of it.

Your telling me you enjoyed dying to a ai cause he hit you in the upper chest with sp7 I understand the vital hit boxes but to be Frank with the new armor I feel like my money is actually invested into something and works now do I think availability of tier 5 plates should be more limited yes but as of now I feel like the armor feels good at least if I get one tapped it's in the head. Which is where I only aim for because with even meh ammo most people aren't wearing face masks cough cough cqcm. But if you hit people in the face they still go down. Aiming for legs just makes your aim worse imo

@@mrsaltydino4817 The thing u need to understand is that before the latest update the armour was working as inteded and it protected you and was worth the moeny you paid too. You need to understand that plate carriers and armour vests are meant to protect you when everything else failed. You should use cover and concealment to increase survivability. If you are found in the open you nmade a mistake and the vest is there to cover your vitals which is what BSG should have incluided. Do not use armour as cover, use cover as cover and armour as armour. Everyone that did not enjoy the previous armour hitboxes is because they do not use cover or concealment which is this milsim harcore game you definately should. This is not cod.
Well clearly youre either too young, or too dumb to understand what the word "nuance" means, or youre just intentionally arguing in very poor faith to make your god awful opinion seem "correct". I have never seen anyone ask for anything even remotely close to your gross exaggeration of a "30 second TTK" for the so called "cod zoomers"(which is ironic, since id wager most of the people who wanted armor to actually do something, were older, veterans of the game lul), people simply wanted armor to do something, and for you to be rightfully rewarded for wearing high tier armor, and using high tier ammo(whereas before, it largely did not matter if you used a cheap kit with cheap ammo, or you used top tier gear)...you know, have gear/ammo progression actually mean something?
It was incredibly easy(in fact it took literally 0 mechanical skill, especially with the recoil changes) to use ANY ammo out of ANY gun and just spray center mass and end up dropping someone in a second because it was incredibly common for 1-2 rounds to evade hitting the plate hitbox(which is all you needed, even if you were running easily accessible, cheap af ammo), rendering whatever armor that person was using, effectively useless. I cant count how many times I was 1 tapped to the thorax by rounds that should never 1 tap me through a level 6 plate+lvl 3 aramid, but they routinely did because the plate hitbox was so small. Now, aim is rewarded(hitting headshots) more, as well as using higher tier gear/ammo too, AND you can achieve a similar TTK as someone using BiS gear even if you dont have access to max traders, by simply using flesh rounds+leg meta'ing people. That is objectively far more balanced than it was before. Now, you have timmys and people with dogshit aim who are mad because they cant use piss gear and ammo, and still 1 tap peoples thorax's with any random centermass spray, completely negating what gear theyre wearing...boo fucking hoo, what a concept, they made mechanical skill and aim actually matter in an FPS??
@@mrsaltydino4817 I'm not denying the problem with RNG letting flesh ammo often ignore armor with previous plates, what I'm saying is that the solution that BSG addopted to solve this issue was terrible and made the game even worse, with PMCs being considerably more tanky now than they were back in Tarkov 0.13 when many people already considered them too tanky.
Instead of coming up with a proper solution, like adding a new vital organ hitbox at the center of the torso, and then making a blacked torso no longer causing death, BSG simply increased the size of the hitboxes because tha required almost no effort from their part. Now we are all paying for their lazyness and things will only get worse in the next wipe, because right now the consequence of the armor changes isn't in full effect because most players have access to high penetration ammo this late into the wipe.
Leg meta is always reliable it was just not as needed with the previous rework - always great to farm salt with too
I hated the armor rework so much that in the next wipe I'll play exclusively with leg ammo to farm salt from the players who praised the change because they want this game to have a CoD-like time-to-kill, but right now I can't be arsed because it's already so late into the wipe.
We are back to leg meta it appears... The cicle once again starts again. COD players will now complain that leg meta is too strong as they have already compleined about old armour sistem. BSG increases recoild once again and nerfs ammo... people complain, bsg buffs everything and ads the promissed features of realistic armour hitboxes, people complain, so they add cod armour as we have now, cod players then complain about the game being too real (even though this is the point really). BSG buffs armour to cover all body and legs.... rats go to feet meta XD. BSG is a joke. they should just stick to the realistic armour hitboxes and add vitals... the game would be perfectly balanced as it was with all ammo and all armour viable.... but no, BSG must keep COD players and streamers happy

Even 762 PP and sometimes BP didn’t do the job… with the lower rpm’s on the 762 aks it takes to long to put ppl down.
M62/61 or Hybrid are the only thing that works reliable for me atm…

Leg meta isn't better or worse than before, it's just that it's sometimes the only thing you can use if you have shit ammo due to the bad rework of armor.
I started late this wipe and I used only SP7 and .45 RIP for the first 45 levels. Before the armor update I would just aim for their neck area and they dropped pretty quick. After the change, I switched to legs and it still performs really strong.
If you use 900+ rpm I can usually win fights against 308 players and 7.62x39 BP. (Assuming they don’t one tap me) 556 still got me pretty often though just due to the fire rate and lower recoil.
How do you get .45 rip so early??

Leg Meta is the most satisfying playstyle in the game.
I knew the Vector 45 was gonna win because whenever I did lower level Leg Meta I could even just use the regular FMG and win fights, absolutely my favorite gun. Will be terrifying if they ever give us bigger mags
Last time I played EFT was on summer 2023, when was the fragmentation on bullet removed ? And what is Nikita's reasoning for removing it ?
RNG, it was confusing or broken in several ways (frag couldn't happen on thorax/stomach, frag couldn't happen for ammo under a certain pen value even if it had 100% frag chance).

@@Killer2Croc The "frag only happens on limbs" might have been a PMC V PMC thing only. I don't remember. Nikita just said in a Q&A that they are removing it, it's hard to tell, but at least I got the impression it is going away permanently. Perhaps they will rework it at some point, but considering how long the old system was around with the weird bugs I doubt it.

Leg meta is not a way to play the game like this. Its more like a workaround. Armor change is crap making meta very tight and 90% of content pointless.
Armor is not the problem, the problem is everyone can run level 5/6 armour while you can only get 40ish pen ammo at best
@@impc8265 If you remove class 5 and 6 then streamers are gonna cry again how anyone can kill them in 3-4 hits and "armor does not work". same thing if you make more 50+ pen ammo available. even if nothing will be done and all the timmies will just spam garbage gear with shotguns and camp kneecaps of chads, those chads will cry so loud about how its unfair that their 10h a day grind does not make them completely invulnerable.
we had all of those issues with ammo and armor before. thx to some talking heads from twitch we have it back again. this time though, with addition of pve i suspect that a lot of players, who does not want to participate in that meta powerlevelling race, will just stick to pve and pvp servers will die out exremely fast after every wipe, with no players outside of dorms and reserve bunker.

now the TTK is slightly longer and more reliant on headshots ohhh no my M4 with bad ammo doesnt kill people in lvl 6 armor.... it does you just need to headshot them
the kink mask is the only real problem cuz then you can ONLY kill them if you have 40+ pen and you hit a double headshot

Legs got blacked at 17:24 but still able to keep sprinting for a second or two longer. No painkiller active. Is this a bug or a new hidden feature? I thought blacked legs would instantly bring your PMC to a halt. Interesting.

a .45 vector with rip rounds. 1,100 rpm is 18.3 rounds per second, rip .45 is 130 damage per round, 130 damage multiplied by 18.3 is 2,383 damage per second. *vector go brrrrt*
Why did you largely only focus on weapons that are only effective in short ranges...? The idea that leg meta is only viable using SMGs/shotguns from close range isnt reality. Did you completely forget about the fact 556 rounds like Warmaggedon exist, and .300 whisper? Or Ultra Nosler out of a SA58? All of those rounds are pretty comparable to RIP damage wise, except you can engage targets from a further distance and more accurately when using an HK, MCX, or SA58(not to mention, larger mag capacity). If you dont have max traders, you can still easily go that route and achieve a very similar TTK as someone using high pen ammo. Also, early wipe before people are running CQCM masks and bastion slaps(I mean, shouldnt really be aiming for the helmet if you can help it anyway) commonly, it doesnt really matter if youre using high pen ammo or not, if you hit people in the throat/face, they WILL die regardless of what ammo youre using. People just want to use any excuse for why they cant kill people who are better at the game than them, and who are using better gear than they are too. If people dont like Aim and mechanical skill mattering, and what gear/ammo they use to matter, then theyre playing the wrong game and theyre beyond helping. The fact is a lot of the people complaining are people who want to be able to randomly spray centermass and drop some1 in 1 second using any shit ammo AKA they dont want skill to be a significant deciding factor in the game, nor do they want gear to matter at all...they think theyre entitled to killing people who are much more skilled, and much better equipped because...reasons?

try a RPD + HP. Crazy range for leg meta, easily available ammo and gun, No worrys about recoil, massive ammo capacity
I tried the m4 since it have better RPM and considering easier to mod thank to recoil rework, i just take a 60 recoil M4 and blast dem leg with it😂
gigabeef please test for us .300blackout whisper -5recoil +20 heavy bleed and its on Jaeger lvl1 or V-Max -10recoil on Skier lvl 2 with 60 or 100rounders sprays for days :D

Good to see you remembered the 18C - it's an excellent way to make your sidearm more useful in a panic-mode situation, since pulling out your pistol and spraying wildly is what pretty much happens anyway when you're out of primary ammo.
for the P90 since u can craft the L191 would that not make it a good choice it does pen and okay damage?

I really enjoy doing off colored metas so I've doing leg meta for a few years and It just a consice, clear video with examples.
Also I think leg meta is great for ratting/camping as you stop people who are out in the open as you tear into theirs legs, tho that's probably not most spicy footage
The mp9-N would be a solid mention tho the ammo craft is alot worse so it's not as viable
And personally I prefer the longer less recoil / more accurate shotguns with a laser so I can stay on target better but tbh Magnum buckshot can be pretty rough to leg meta at times due to recoil, longer reloads and spread dependence

I think the 100 rounders for the STNAG guns with warmageddon deserves more than an honorable mention. 7 shots to kill is nothing to sneeze at when you have 100 in the mag, being able to just keep firing forever if you use a lower rpm gun like the MDR can deal additional psychic damage as you just keep shooting forever from the perspective of your target. This can keep you safe as you push a target gun already blazing. Plus warmageddon is cheaper than dirt and be had for rock bottom prices on fence due to a quest giving you like 12 boxes people wanting to get rid of it so selling it to fence without unboxing it.
Also you can use 5.56 HP too, and the price is so cheap that i dont even bother to put it in secure container and just use spare space to put more meds. Work wonder when you blast dem knee of Level 5 armor chad.

Is there any hope of draining down armor durability with 12/70 Dual Sabot Slug (65% armor damage (=AP20) x 2 bullets (pellets) applied consequently)?
Armor damage is a percent based on the pen, so for dual sabot they do 11 armor damage each (22 if both hit) and ap20 does 24 armor damage. Its a really misleading stat and it would be nice if they just listed the raw armor damage.
And that's just the raw armor damage - it then depends on the pen (a second time) and the armor class too, so it does different amounts to different armors. That's with taking material into account of course - indeed a very confusing stat
Am I crazy/misunderstanding the math at 1:35? How is 70% of 375 = 536 and not 262.5 meaning a total received damage of 327.5 (65 from the leg and the remaining damage reduced by 70%)?
You can look at it two ways, either reduce the damage of the bullet and calculate the hits to 440 hp
OR you can calculate the "effective hp" of a PMC via the legs by adding the 30% on top. This lets you figure out the raw damage that you need to do.
To reduce the bullets damage by 30% you'd x0.7, so to work out the EHP we need to divide the remaining health by 0.7 to get to the full number.
Qualitatively, the damage reduction = more shots to kill, so the raw damage needed for a leg kill MUST go up and be more than 440

With the new rework, would rhere be a place for a stomach/groin meta ? It would mean making sure that the enemy does not have stomach spft armor but could be even better in some cases !
The korund level 5 plates cover that area, so it is a big no for stomach/groin meta.

For how much you are mentioning TTK you never actually shown us any. All you showed was shots to kill not TIME to kill. Considering the time is the defining factor here, it shouldnt have been ommited.
Because you have to assume all are hits, which they won't be in most cases or collect data from hundreds of fights which isn't realistic. If you're prepared to assume all rounds hit. time to kill = rounds to kill ÷ rpm of weapon × 60
Exactly. Its the common procedure to assume all rounds hit when we are talking TTK. My problem here is why mention "TTK" specificaly multiple times throughout the video without actually giving us THAT statistic.

More like realistic combat imagine if wound limb amputation or semi amputation was simulated then fights would look different unpleasant yes im aware but damn that will be interesting to see the cruelty of playera amd the horors of armed combat in a game. Crawling soft limbed or cut limbed chads and newbies alike missing both head limb and chest cavity in factory, that place in 15 mins the way people run it (mostly naked sometimes ) would be a blood bath guts everywhere

Not to mention the % chance for a heavy bleed. Everyone seems to forget that when talking about ammo. Being able to tear someone up and give them 3 heavy bleeds is huge in a corner to corner fight because they will want to retreat but can't heal because you are so close, if they do you can catch them in the act. If they hold off from healing they will just bleed out.
@@v4lhulme in that case any chad will just use zagustin + etg. It won't restore the blacked out legs of course, but they will still be at around 380 or 310 hp. Late wipe leg meta is feast or famine, you either kill them with a clean burst or get farmed yourself. With all that being said, leg meta is still legit at any stage of the game.

Damage is reduced by 30% which = x0.7 yes, but to work out how much raw damage you need to do you take the HP and divide by 0.7 to get back to the total. Otherwise the damage gets smaller via legs not bigger, which makes no sense
That's exactly how it is... NOT! This video is just theorycrafting, completely detached from the reality of the game. A lot of hits are not registered, which is the reality in the game. It's always better to aim with high-penetration ammo at spots that require only a few registered hits for a kill instead of hoping that out of a potential 400 damage per shot, more than 80 damage actually reaches the target every 2-3 shots.
the problem is that you don't have access to high pen ammo while everyone is running tier 6, get a brain maybe
any hit registry issues would affect all ammo types equally. I think you're just missing
