1. If you put a large object behind the seat you cannot use the bed. 2. If you use both sides then both surfaces will be less comfortable for a give thickness. 3. It is going to be heavy. 4. It is going to be expensive. 5. You will get much less storage underneath. So the only advantage is contoured seats and 4" good foam is pretty comfortable. Nothing made for medium sized campervans beats a simple R&R bed. I have built 3, over the years and have probably close to 500 nights. Trying to reinvent the wheel has always been difficult. KISS is better..
