DUDE! You keeping putting out the best covers I've seen of these Tool tracks. The 8:19 mark with the fast snare to double kick is one of my favorite drum parts in this track. Just sounds like a slow rip then explodes. Danny sure has the most creative playing and this must be fun to learn and practice. I've been listening to Tool for so long and still I find little bell hits or something in the mix.
Great precision and performance! Your hard work gives big results. The hardest part of the Grudge is the final solo, when the hi-hat kicks in. Yet I guess nobody could play both feet that precise since 2009 when JHDrums nailed that part
Mmm 3:48 that snare switch is so tasty. I remember first realizing Danny doesn’t even hit the snare while on, until almost halfway through the song. Such an epic moment, and I can see the satisfactory smile on your face after you do it 😂
Great playing as always Tyler!! I have been a huge TOOL fan since 1994 & The Grudge is one of my favorite songs of theirs. Your snare sounds great and all of your drums are tuned perfectly. Well done!! Spiral Out 🌀
Jzuz f*€. Wow. Drummer and major TOOL fan here. Good. God. How the fudge do you even memorize that? So little repetition and repeated patterns relative to the norm. Super complex. Your timing and execution are chef’s kiss. Unbelievable. Great job.
Amazing stuff ! I’m curious, right before the first Ride + Double Pedal breakdown do you split the same Swiss triplet pattern over the Rotos and Toms or a slightly different one (compared to the opening Swiss triplet pattern) @1:20
As a kid always wanting to learn to sing and play drums before deciding to play Guitar finally. This makes me wish I stuck with learning the drums as at 10yr kid
Love your channel dude, hope to see you do some of Animals As Leaders stuff. Matt Garstka is also a beast, learning his parts is an incredible challenge
Can’t wait to see where this kid ends up. There should be a link to this guy every time some idiot says Travis Barker is the best drummer ever. Young kids need to know what an actual good drummer with talent looks like. This guy is probably 15 or 16 years old and runs circles around Barker. Keep it up!
Travis Barker is one of the best drummers out there. You may not like his genre of music, but to say he is not good is just being blind to what good drumming is.
@@c_jo never said he wasn’t good. Said he shouldn’t be included in any topic that includes “the best drummer”. He’s obviously good enough to have made a great career and it good enough for the music he plays. But is in no way the best in any circumstance.
@@jasonpysell8735I totally agree with you. Also to have Dave Grohl even relatively close to Danny on the top 100 is crazy to me. I don’t think grohl is anything special and I can’t stand the foos lol
That's a great cover. I'm not sure about your interpretation of the opening drum parts though. I think John Kew's may be more accurate. th-cam.com/video/sNZsU7EsLEs/w-d-xo.html
I don't know why, but the drums just don't sound right. They sound too crispy pop, not enough boing. You played this perfectly though. Good job overall.
Can you teach the rest of your generation about great music at a high quality sound or is Lil Wayne always going to be dominating their iTunes playlists?
Danny Carey proclaimed The Grudge to be the most demanding Tool track.
You are amazing.
You nailed the solo! Very sick!!
Thanks for stopping by man! I really appreciate it!
What solo?
7:58... that last stretch! What an amazing job. Thanks for this! Pretty incredible work
That looked like a lot of effort and even more fun. Perfect blend of technique and aggression

I totally agree man! Danny is definitely well accomplished at what he does. Huge inspiration to many people.

Yeah saw that smirk. Must be so satisfying. These videos are amazing.
I’m pretty sure Danny didn’t track this song, still a great observation tho!
Very very impressive. Tool drums are so complicated with different poly rhythms and what not. Nice job man!
the snare ping is insane, real The Cleansing vibe from that.
Man that's...a great job !! 🙏

Danny Carey said this is the hardest tool song to play. How was it for you? Did you rehearse a lot?
Lots of love for your cover. ❤✨
U just ripped the song that Danny says is the hardest song he has ever had to play. Ur a bad dude. Great job
