I have come back to this channel for a lit class. Last time I was here was two years ago as a sophomore taking Apush. All I'm gonna say is that I barely read the text book but watched all of the videos on this channel and scored a 5 on the test. Highly recommend that u don't waste your time reading/ taking notes off book/ documentaries and history websites, just watch these and you'll be Gucci 👍
i love how you can see a spike of views for these chapters where everyone else is at in the curriculum. Im just happy i dont have to read that book lol. THANKS MAN
Thank you so much! There is a way to help support the channel. TH-cam does pay crap these days..... Check the link- www.apushexplained.com/support-jocz-productions.html
Thank you! My APUSH teacher has been absent all year, and my substitute only showed up in November and has never taught an AP before. Your videos are the only way I can prepare for the exam instead of class
The image was not meant to favor one over the other, more to reveal that the nation has had difficulty finding the proper balance between security vs. liberty. It is an ongoing debate .
thanks for this ! i’m an auditory learner so the book can get reallly boring for me and doesn’t help much, but im sure i’ll remember stuff just from hearing it in this video :)
I know the AP test is over and all, but I suddenly thought of this and realized...is the current situation (with covid) an example of restrictions on civil liberties during a time of crisis? 7:57
To my knowledge, the League of Nations was part of the Treaty of Versailles. Republicans + Henry Lodge did not want this to be passed because of the reasons stated in the video (Article X, etc). This created a split in Congress. Wilson ended up suffering a stroke due to stress when trying to rally support, which gave Lodge the opportunity to kind of slip in and gain some footing for himself. He proposed adding 14 NEW amendments onto the treaty (a slap in the face to Wilson, mocking his 14 Point Plan). Most people of congress were actually for this version of the treaty, but Wilson was so stuck in his all-or-nothing ideology that he told his fellow democrats to NOT vote for the new treaty. This ultimately led to nothing being passed at all. Wilson wanted the League of Nations as a way to bring democracy to other nations and, rather idealistically, world peace. He knew from the start it was inevitable that the US joined WWI, and he hoped with this League it would prevent future wars like this one. (League of Nations was actually the starting idea for United Nations). Hoped this helped some!
Love your videos! But I think your version of the American Pageant is outdated, in the version my class is using this content is in the second half of chapter 29. And the content you have for the Chapter 31 video goes with Chapter 30.
You helped clear the APUSH Panic of 2019 with these videos.

just a headsup for anyone in the 16th edition of American pageant this is actually chapter 29 and the roaring twenties stuff is chapter 30
Yup....but content is all the same. Videos work for any book or any edition of pageant.
Thank you, your comment just saved me so much time.
Yeah. . . Which doesn't help when I take notes and thought I finished
Bruh you just saved me but now I have to take notes on a whole mother chapter 😭

It's been two years but man are you so very, very useful.
You also make me laugh. A lot.

You are the reason im passin APUSH, thank you
At 8:00 the scale of national security and civil liberties is a little confusing. It shows that the civil liberties weigh MORE than national security.

For the American Pageant 16th edition this video corresponds with chapter 29
same material, nonetheless

so like, i’m looking at my book, and the content between the chapter 30’s don’t match up at alllllllll
Just follow the topic you are covering. They switched up the chapter numbers, but content is still the same.
thanks so much! this cleared up a lot for me.
super happy i could be of some assistance. best of luck to you and your classmates.
If you have to simplify World War I onto one sheet what would you say is the most important stuff for an essay
probably talking about Wilson's isolationist ideas, and how they later got rejected by Republicans, which contributed to USA's entering into WW2
This was so helpful, thank you
Why did Wilson propose the League of Nations if he seemed to be so anti-foreign affairs prior to the World War?
this is still a bit ambiguous to me, why did congress not allow the us to join the League of Nations?
