Bro I love your bike, I ride the same model of trance except it has a few modifications such as a new Kashima coated Fox factory 34 shock and carbon handlebars with Deity grips. I love the thing and I take it out in the redwoods a lot! Taniwha, double down and Boulderdash are the trails I ride often and the trance handles great down all of them! Billy T is also a real fun track but I don't ride it heaps because of the climb it takes to get there if you aren't catching a shuttle.
I rode it yesterday, and holy shit if you were scared of it 10 months ago, the traffic from the 2w enduro eroded the bit right below the top so that it's very hard to roll it.
Rotorua has awesome trails~ Good to see you riding again after your injury....Currently out with a broken collarbone :( Watching your videos makes me want to get back to riding.
The Average MTB Guy Overconfidence..Went too fast, wheel got caught in some hole, flew over the bars and landed on my shoulder....Happened at "Not for granny" trail over at Woodhill..
@@TheAverageMTBGuy It feels like it for sure : 0 0... but the drop itself is about 2 foot.... no less intimidating as the entry and exit are pretty steep. I need to work up to trying the left hand line !!!! then no coward levers and coast all the way over the step up gap on the other side of the clearing. Great job on the channel.
I recently went over Billy T again and hit this (after one quick look!) with no worries and cleared the gap after with a foot to spare. It’s such a good feeling to see progress in in confidence and skills in the past year - and I actually don’t ride that much, well not as much as I’d like! Cheers for the kind words, Adrian.
Most of them are actually pretty good. Some are more slippery than others and it depends on how much rain there has been. I rode Billy T in the pouring rain and there were mini rivers flowing through it but it was awesome. Trails that are in the open like Challenge, Corners, etc will dry quicker.
Nice video mate! Unfortunately I heard that Billy T will soon be gone because of logging. So I will ride it definitely some more times soon for my last two weeks in NZ this year. By the way...which gimbal do you have? Ordered one myself already. Maybe it's in time for Rotorua. Have a look at my channel soon. Have you ever tried head mounting it?
+Chris Longliveenduro I have watched a number of your vids - the latest one was Te Ahi Manawa. That’s next level up for me! Billy T is mostly native bush so I’d be very surprised they would clear it. They are doing a lot of clearing around it in the pine forests at the moment. G Rock is closed. I’ve got the Feiyu WG but I’m saving at the moment for a Zhiyun Rider M/Evo SS. Not tried it on the helmet - wouldn’t want it to hit a low branch!
The Average MTB Guy one of the trail builders told me that, so I think it will happen. I can spot some pine trees in your video and ferns but not this native bush with Cornflakes like leafes I know from other trails. But anyways I hope I was told wrong..... I ordered the Zhiyun Rider M to Rotorua but unfortunately left my chesty back home. So I guess I will try some careful helmet mounting next week. All the best to you with your wrist buddy!
+Chris Longliveenduro I have a chesty you can borrow if you want. It’s a non-gopro but works fine. I’ve just upgraded to a Stuntman harness. Let me know if you do and I’ll courier it to you.
The Average MTB Guy thanks si much. Texted you...That's my number for my stay this time. Would suggest that you edit your comment and remove the number. Just in case a robot goes over youtube comments for getting numbers for spamming
My beautiful hometown, reminds me of my invincible teen years rocking these tracks, good run bro.
Nice work bro. What a great trail, one of my favourites!

I am definitely super keen to give that trail a crack!

+Lionel Liew Teck Fui oh no! That’s not cool. I’ve been there (24 yrs ago) and it was a long recovery. How did it happen?
The Average MTB Guy Overconfidence..Went too fast, wheel got caught in some hole, flew over the bars and landed on my shoulder....Happened at "Not for granny" trail over at Woodhill..
Ouch! And you can’t get much further from the car park there - did the Woodhill staff have to come and get you or could you ride back out?
The Average MTB Guy Yeah..called the Woodhill guys for assistance..they were quick..unlike the hospital..waited for ages to see a orthopaedic...haha
Lionel, how's the collarbone coming along? All healed up yet?
That drop has psyked me out for almost 9yrs. Fucken good on yah bro! 👊
cheers Shaun! Probably was dumb doing it there by myself but hey! I’d be wondering “what if..” if I didn’t do it.
The Average MTB Guy yup definitely, I've been there with mates as well and we've all chickened out 😁
I'll get there one day.
@theaverageMTBguy... Rode this yesterday ..holy molely that drop is BIG.. like 10ft big. ... but an amazing trail
Nice! Yep it’s quite intimidating standing at the top - I was fair crapping myself!
@@TheAverageMTBGuy kinda more like 3 foot big...
Nah, I’m sure it’s twice that size! I’ll take a tape measure next time ;)

Well done brother!
Cher’s Tim.
what are the Rotorua tracks like in the winter? is there heaps of slippery clay?
Most of them are actually pretty good. Some are more slippery than others and it depends on how much rain there has been. I rode Billy T in the pouring rain and there were mini rivers flowing through it but it was awesome. Trails that are in the open like Challenge, Corners, etc will dry quicker.
Are there easy tracks for like beginners?
Yes, stacks of them. But even the medium difficulty tracks there can be ridden slowly if you're not that good a rider.

The Average MTB Guy that would be cool. Could sent it back to you on the last day, when I head back home in middle of march

Hit it!
Recently went back to this trail and I did hit it.. and cleared the gap after. Pretty stoked!
is there an uplift?
Yes, there’s. Shuttle bus that will take you most of the way and there’s a little bit of a climb left
The Average MTB Guy how tall is it?
what sort of helmet is that bro :)
It’s a Bell Super 3R.
All my gear is in this vid - th-cam.com/video/m0DYH6YXYxY/w-d-xo.html
Biggest roller ;-P
No less scary though ^^
Shot!!
+King Rat fair enough - gotta get my lingo right! At the time I thought I was gonna drop - over the bars!
The Average MTB Guy No worries m8... The intro made it look like a 6ft+ drop  You rolled it sweet as :thumbs-up:
Why do people roll that drop? its better to send it
Ohope
