Just installed on my 2023 R3. Perfect fit and great quality.
Just installed this. It is solid, simple, and looks good. Here were my user errors or some tips I discovered that might help some of you
3:33 The turn signals are actually buried under two other heavy cables and it is a tight fit. I had to pry lightly at the plastic cover to expose the turn signal connections and undo them. Then pull the signal cables out of the plastic, then compress the plastic sleeve and pull it free.
15:05 Make sure the washers are lined up just right. I thought I had tightened it good enough and that my turning signal was loose. It was because my washers were not lined up perfect like they should be even though they appeared to be the first go around. You might even have to flip the middle washer
18:28 There are 2 sets of steel centers that look identical. You need the smaller set for this part. I tried the larger without thinking and thought man this is rough. I got the big ones in before I realized I had 2 identical smaller ones, and that made a lot more sense.
When you are putting the lights back on the eliminator, just remember, the signal with the gray plug is the left, the black is the right.
Just placed my order. I love the fact that I’m able to use the stock parts and not have to cut and solder the wires.

my fender eliminator just got here at noon and i got it installed in an hour or so! Super easy installation and super clear instructions! Love the look of it on my R3!
I just put mine on and I love it! It's pretty easy to put it on, inexpensive and great quality! If you have a limited budget, just go for it! You won't regret.

This video is nicely done. Clear and concise explanation of the install. Very easy to follow and complete. Anyone could do this....even a caveman.
I wouldn't say even a caveman since it does have some sensitive components that are played with. also, assuming the caveman is filthy, they may get the bike and electrical parts dirty. Not too sure they would have the proper tools as well.

Solid tutorial. Bought the fender eliminator kit for my 22 R3 and already have the first half complete while I wait for it to arrive.
I went with the Vagabond Motorsports kit because of this video, price, and the better fitment (high and tight.. hugs the tail compared with the other vendors so far). Great product!

I have installed the fender on my Yamaha R3 in the UK by following this very good installation video. However, the wiring connectors are slightly different in the UK and the side lights attach with screws rather than bolts (the screws are less robust and attach to soft plastic which easily distorts under pressure). The final look is great; very sporty! Excellent video guide but just note the slightly different specs of UK/European parts.
Great vid with proper terminology. So glad you didn't connect this thingy to this rubber thing that connects to the other thing while holding the cam with one hand.
Thanks for the great video, it had a lot to do with my purchase. I picked one of these up from Vagabond Motorsport through eBay. Placed my order early in the day, they shipped it that night and it was at my door 2 days later. Install was a breeze thanks to this great video and my R3 looks a lot better than before. The fender eliminator is well constructed and everything fit perfect. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a good fender eliminator and I plan to order from them again for the exhaust mount. Thanks a lot for the vid guys, UK owner and it's perfect, my only issue was the fact i had to drill holes into my license plate because they weren't wide enough but it's nice and tidy, looks great and is half the price of any other brand!

I love that this included the stock license plate light unlike the TST industries which makes you buy another one. Quick tip, I accidentally installed the turn signals backwards, instead of pulling everything apart just connect the black with grey and grey with black. Surprised it worked

Here to see 14:23 the sequence of washers in regards to the base plate. That part is not clear in the directions. Directions should be updated to say all three washers go inside base plate. Great video to go along with the directions.
Ive got a datatool alarm system connected to the indictor wires.... would it ruin the alarm if i disconnect the wires and reconnect them?

Me right and left turn signal connectors are not like what you have, its connected in a way that I need special tools to disconnect, and looks like I need to reclamp them in to place... I cannot complete this installation as I don't want to stuff it up.
I have the 2017 matte black version.... I wonder why Yamaha makes it hard for me.

yeah. You can pull them apart. To be safe, I used pliers and clamp the metal connectors and pulled them out. Then push them in together to connect it again. I used pliers to connect them together as I didn't want to accidentally pull it out of its solder.

You dont actually have to cut the little retainer at all. All you have to do is swivel it into the other side through the holes that the wires go, fat side first.

Hey guys, purchased ur tail kit, Having an issue where my indicator wiring as shown at 3:40 isnt of the same type as yours. Instead of it being a sort of plug and play like yours, its golden and wrapped in another plastic sleeve type thing, how do i disconnect? thanks in advance

Yeh pulling it out gentley and then reclamping it after re-inserting was easy enough, pretty confusing as to why 2 different connectors were used though haha
installed on my R3 2016 matt grey EU version, easier because oem turn signal come with a screw not a bolt and with a universal adapter not the yamaha adapter so no need to cut the little piece between turn signal and bolt

I cannot see any reason why this tag holder which is horizontal and does not flip up, hide, hinder, or otherwise make the tag unreadable would be in any violation of florida law. should be good to go, put one on my bike in Florida.

***** No real reason for it to void a warranty. All you're doing is unplugging and replugging in the same stock lights if all you do is add this unit to your bike. No altering of factory wiring is necessary. All you did was remove a big ugly piece of plastic.

no, the factory warranty for the motorcycle is not voided by installing the fender eliminator, but you can check with your local dealer for confirmation.

it's designed for the 4"x7" plate used in most of the USA but it works for a variety of plate sizes in other countries

This is a great kit and video. Why don't the manufacturers just do this to begin with? Seems like it costs them more to put those monstosoties on the bikes.
Why is it so necessary to put these fender eliminator kits on the bikes? Is it a riders' law or just something to do to keep others from laughing at your bike??
