On the Magician's Challenges levels Boss Rush and True Boss Rush I had to cheat to beat them, that's like too insanely hard for me haha :)
Now THIS is a mr dark fight i can get behind as a canonical ending! Doesn't leave him vague or unfinished, and it has a satisfying, multi-staged conclusion. Masterpiece!
this looks amazing, I'd say my only criticism is I'm not super keen on starting with ALL of the powerups, but other than that, it's definitely an upgrade
@@red5robb1 That and you actually get to practice with Rayman’s abilities before the game gets hard, unlike the original where some really basic stuff like running isn’t unlocked until you’re already running into some difficulty
I guess Redemption is the alternate timeline to Rayman 1 where Betilla got real and gave Rayman all the abilities before the game even started, because realistically I don't think there was even anything preventing her from doing that in the first place.
I love that they include the learning ost music in Betilla garden. This was the menu music of Rayman learns english, the first rayman game i played. Also all little elements from different world that were not in the rayman PC version, but I guess it was on ps version.
I've watched a handful of Rayman speedruns before, but I've never heard of Rayman redemption till now Let me tell you, holy shit I was not expecting to see how many chapters are in this video; mad props for going and listing the sections so well
I kind of wished they made the victory jingles different between levels and bosses. Like levels use the PlayStation jingle while defeating a boss plays the Sega Saturn jingle.
Im playing through this now and I have to say, having recently played the original...this remake is more enjoyable. Things have been expanded to make the game feel more full. The original was so painstakingly difficult that at times it was just hard to even want to continue playing. There have been new levels added and even enemies that were never seen in the original. The work done on this remake is incredible and Im so impressed and glad that it was done. Waiting for someone in the industry to remake the original like spyro and crash bandicoot was never going to happen. The rayman games they have for ps4 are good, but the original on ps1 is just better
My Personal Verdict on RayMan Redemption: No Arguments, No Complaints. I Love It All! All New Music, All New Sound Effects, All New Characters, All New Enemies, All New Bosses, All New Levels, All New Bonuses, A 2021 Magical Colourful Fun Exciting New Remake of A Classic RayMan Adventure. 👍🏻
I played the GBA version way back in the 2000s and this game really adds a ton to it! I especially love how Mr. Dark got a more proper ending and final fight!
I’d say probably my biggest issue is that the first Darktoon fight looks significantly harder than Bzzzt, even with the latter’s new attack. Less hits, sure, but he’s just sending fireballs out, looks like a pretty small target, I dunno
I love this game! Just a pity, this remaster game is not available in Europe... I always liked the picture city and my favourite enemy was Spacemama. And the new goodies especially the rainbow fist and the new world „playtopia“ is really awesome!! And in this game, every enemy gets more attention even mr. Dark. Good work Bro but Prickly objects or flint balls are your biggest weakness 😂👍🏻😃
I only got this today on my laptop and I've played up to Picture City with my PS4 control pad. Got to say its one of the BEST games out there 😁😁 Like an unofficial director's cut of the original

@@GameGamer I am unsure, I tried changing it to almost all possible options just to see what effect it would be (thought at first maybe I should've played in a windowed mode or something to make it look better) but it's still the same. So I haven't the foggiest what could've caused it. I never looked it up as this is the first time I've seen a walk-through for the game, thought my version was just how it was supposed to be like 🤔😏
Even though I am glad that I can play this game for nostalgia sake, I am thinking, if it wasn’t for Super Mario 64, would we have gotten another 2D Rayman game at that time? Also, the Reboot (no not Rayman 2 as in a 3D platformer. Some people still call it a reboot), may have put Rayman back into its roots with its sequel (Origins and Legends), but for some reasons, it just doesn’t feel like the original, as in character designs and also some aspects in gameplay

After all, have gamers NEVER heard of the concept of “cutting corners?” Corner-cutting has to be done for a variety of reasons; sure, Ryemanni probably did this all for free with a dedicated team of game developers & redesigners, but he must’ve realized that the only way to add new content was to get rid of some properties that would otherwise take up a little too much space on computers. Storage is fucking Hell, especially on Windows laptops; not even the Mac computers I used in college were this stingy on storage, but that’s not the point. The point is, for the new content to be added in to make the game better, sacrifices must be made in order to maintain a good gameplay experience. With Rayman Redemption, it’s no exception. Boss fights have new attacks, levels are redesigned, a new world was added in, there are somewhat new enemy types, there’s new challenges, new locations, new ways to make the game actually better than its original counterpart (which, btw, seems to be obsolete by comparison), so Ryemanni would’ve likely decided to remove the intro & outro animations to save time & game space.

Yeah in Redemption it just looks like a slideshow presentation. I would rather have the original one instead, even if it's low res and crusty. Rest of the remake is great though.

Look at the Mr. Dark battle stage, see the stain glass, look up at the top and see that the The Menace are actually the Main Boss of PLAYTOPIA. so can you please change MINIBOSS - The Menace into just BOSS - The Menace?!

this looks amazing, I'd say my only criticism is I'm not super keen on starting with ALL of the powerups, but other than that, it's definitely an upgrade

@@red5robb1 That and you actually get to practice with Rayman’s abilities before the game gets hard, unlike the original where some really basic stuff like running isn’t unlocked until you’re already running into some difficulty
I guess Redemption is the alternate timeline to Rayman 1 where Betilla got real and gave Rayman all the abilities before the game even started, because realistically I don't think there was even anything preventing her from doing that in the first place.

There is more backtracking in Redemption than there was in the original game, though.
I love that they include the learning ost music in Betilla garden. This was the menu music of Rayman learns english, the first rayman game i played. Also all little elements from different world that were not in the rayman PC version, but I guess it was on ps version.
If you're talking about the Toy world, it wasn't in the PS version either, it's been added specifically for this fan game.
I've watched a handful of Rayman speedruns before, but I've never heard of Rayman redemption till now

I kind of wished they made the victory jingles different between levels and bosses. Like levels use the PlayStation jingle while defeating a boss plays the Sega Saturn jingle.

Im playing through this now and I have to say, having recently played the original...this remake is more enjoyable. Things have been expanded to make the game feel more full. The original was so painstakingly difficult that at times it was just hard to even want to continue playing. There have been new levels added and even enemies that were never seen in the original. The work done on this remake is incredible and Im so impressed and glad that it was done. Waiting for someone in the industry to remake the original like spyro and crash bandicoot was never going to happen. The rayman games they have for ps4 are good, but the original on ps1 is just better

I’d say probably my biggest issue is that the first Darktoon fight looks significantly harder than Bzzzt, even with the latter’s new attack. Less hits, sure, but he’s just sending fireballs out, looks like a pretty small target, I dunno

I love this game! Just a pity, this remaster game is not available in Europe... I always liked the picture city and my favourite enemy was Spacemama. And the new goodies especially the rainbow fist and the new world „playtopia“ is really awesome!! And in this game, every enemy gets more attention even mr. Dark. Good work Bro but Prickly objects or flint balls are your biggest weakness 😂👍🏻😃

@@GameGamer I am unsure, I tried changing it to almost all possible options just to see what effect it would be (thought at first maybe I should've played in a windowed mode or something to make it look better) but it's still the same. So I haven't the foggiest what could've caused it. I never looked it up as this is the first time I've seen a walk-through for the game, thought my version was just how it was supposed to be like 🤔😏

Even though I am glad that I can play this game for nostalgia sake, I am thinking, if it wasn’t for Super Mario 64, would we have gotten another 2D Rayman game at that time?
Also, the Reboot (no not Rayman 2 as in a 3D platformer. Some people still call it a reboot), may have put Rayman back into its roots with its sequel (Origins and Legends), but for some reasons, it just doesn’t feel like the original, as in character designs and also some aspects in gameplay
And the Space Pirates look much different than they did in the original Rayman 1 in this update they were changed to their Redesigner look.

After all, have gamers NEVER heard of the concept of “cutting corners?” Corner-cutting has to be done for a variety of reasons; sure, Ryemanni probably did this all for free with a dedicated team of game developers & redesigners, but he must’ve realized that the only way to add new content was to get rid of some properties that would otherwise take up a little too much space on computers. Storage is fucking Hell, especially on Windows laptops; not even the Mac computers I used in college were this stingy on storage, but that’s not the point. The point is, for the new content to be added in to make the game better, sacrifices must be made in order to maintain a good gameplay experience. With Rayman Redemption, it’s no exception. Boss fights have new attacks, levels are redesigned, a new world was added in, there are somewhat new enemy types, there’s new challenges, new locations, new ways to make the game actually better than its original counterpart (which, btw, seems to be obsolete by comparison), so Ryemanni would’ve likely decided to remove the intro & outro animations to save time & game space.

Jag googlade på Rayman Redemption 2020, och såg att det var en fanmade remake, och jag måste säga att jag önskar att det här utvecklades av de nuvarande ägarna till Rayman istället, så man kunde köpa det lagligt på Steam, eller att det fanns på PS4, XBOX ONE och på Nintendo Switch, så man kunde köpa det lagligt i vanlig TV-spelsbutik. Och jag vågar sällan ladda ner något från vilka källor som helst, eftersom jag mer noga än de flesta med att inte få virus på min dator/enhet.

Men jag menar ägarna som UbiSoft, företaget som äger upphovsrätten till Rayman, och utvecklar Rayman-spel som läggs upp på Steam (där man kan köpa PC-spel digitalt), finns att köpa i vanlig spelbutik, och finns att köpa på t ex Playstation Network.

I remember some levels super hard in the original. And the second space mama fight really hard. In the mod version is easier. But are some hards levels too specially mr dark minions fight is Harder than the original

It was your very last powerup and wasnt necessary for most gameplay. Mostly a convenience feature although there were a few parts it was required.
Okay The Mr. Dark's Camara are the part 1 main boss for CANDY CHATEAU. But in PLAYTOPIA The Menace 08:22:18 are the main boss of the new 6th world. Look at the Mr. Dark battle stage, see the stain glass, look up at the top and see that the The Menace are actually the Main Boss of PLAYTOPIA. so can you please change MINIBOSS - The Menace into just BOSS - The Menace?!
